Matched with people who just started playing DBD
Why do I get matched with players with less than an hour of DBD playtime when I have 2k hours? Seriously. What a ######### joke this MMR is. This happens 7 out of 10 matches. And my MMR just keeps going down because hatch escape is the best I can get alone.
The best part is that even though my teammates are people who just started playing, the killers stay the same. All meta perks with great loop and map knowledge with usually 500+ hours in DBD.
Coclusion = lower MMR doesn't affect the killers you're matched with, only worsens your teammates.
Survivors get screwed over once more. Killers get easier games with low MMR and survivors get tougher games.

So according to how the MMR system works and was explained in their Q and A; no one starts at zero.
If 1 is the lowest MMR and 2000 is the highest MMR, then every new account would start at 1000 for example.
I think the actual soft cap was 3000 and the MMR everyone starts at was 1100 iirc but someone might correct me :)

I'm also noticing this in my solo survivor matches

It's not much more fun from the other end, trust me.
I think something is broken with MMR right now. I'm a sub-200 hour player, only really starting to get to grips with the game - and being constantly put up against full SWFs with meta perks, addons, a map offering and 1000-3000 hours each and getting flashed and teabagged on the way to a 4-out is so frustrating that I'm currently on hiatus. This feels like something that was changed in the new patch, because before it most of my matches were pretty even.
Now, I have to run strong perks+addons and play super sweaty in my matches to secure 1 or 2 kills a lot of the time (especially with people bringing RPD offerings to abuse that damn office infinite).
The devs stated that there were supposed to be MMR 'brackets', meaning that you couldn't get matched against people too far above or below you - so either these aren't working, people are smurfing down their MMRs, or...well, yeah. One of these two.

I haven't seen a survivor with more than ~50 hours in DBD this week. There's something wrong with the matchmaking and they know it. Probably why they extended the event because the challenges are impossible to complete now with the games as bad as they are.

I have no idea.
I'm a sub-200 hour player, and a lot of that is me goofing around.
On killer, I was getting matched with 2000+ hour SWFs until today. Now I'm getting much better matches.

I made a thread a while ago about this. It is definitely annoying. Can't play survivor without SWF now. This is why I liked the old system because at least once you got out of white the chances of finding people like that were decreased significantly. Only thing I would say you are wrong about it killers have it bad too. We have to play 5 games against 4 man SWF teams sweating super hard before we get one casual game. That has been my experience at least. All because I can kill 4 people because the chill games I do get have the survivors being idiots

I do not believe hatch contributes to your mmr. So ELO hell is basically nigh inescapable in this game.

I'm pretty sure the datamined information pointed out that everyone starts out at a 1100~ baseline with a soft cap of 1900 and a hard cap of 3000.
So in those cases if you are 1900~ and theres a group of 1100 newbies, and a group of 800 'bad' survivors, you at 1900 are going to get the 1100 group because they are closer to your rating. Even though technically the lower rank survivors know how to play the game 'better' than the 1100 group, they just never escape or don't care about escaping.

I've talked about this before, and what I've noticed is that if there aren't enough high-ranking players currently online in your region, then you'll be facing off against people you have no business playing against. Sometimes it will be people just starting out, and other times it will be people with thousands of hours under their belt.
I'm a very casual player, and one night I loaded up a match with Doctor (someone who are rarely play), and I literally only managed 1 hook because the SWF team was that coordinated and that good. Now I'm certainly no expert at the game, but I'm no pushover either, and that was the very first match I experienced with SBMM. Since then I've been really hesitant to play killer. One night here recently I decided to play Nemesis, and for three games straight I only managed one kill. Simply put, SBMM is rough.

This is what I was trying to get at in my comment, these are the accurate figures from the dev Q and A; thank you <3

Yeah I've faced 3 or 4 baby trappers recently. 1 yellow perk and no addons. I've also faced some red grade killers in amongst them. It's wavering quite a lot

So I made a post about mmr but it was almost instantly closed. I’ve been playing forever, was always rank 1 or in reds and I’m matched with brand new players throwing down pallets hiding in corners. I used bond and just watched everyone do nothing. Killers can’t hit me and they all use noed and camp. Idk what’s going on but I’m done. Also got into a party chat with someone telling me wow we have rainbow ranks and trying to boss me around when they were absolutely terrible. The new rank system … or should I say grade system is seriously a participation award for just playing. Anyone can get to it but everyone thinks these are real ranks. If you could never hit and maintain rank one with the old system you sure as heck aren’t a “rank” one now. Please go back to old system and stop giving these dumb survivors even more of a boosted ego

I was wondering if that’s why we got the awesome elodie contest winner AND the witch costume
i would like to know if the player base has gone down. Obviously it’s a Halloween and October so the numbers wont show right now… but this new mmr system really sucks. I got the witch outfit but I’m not even going to play for the elodi, and that’s something I was so excited about when I first saw the contest

ive noticed that aswell, like till a week ago everythinhg was wokring "normal" by normal i mean getting sweaty nurses blights and spirits more than any other thing and now im not, wich is weird i get variety wich is good and what i want and fun but is not that fun stomping baby killers so im in an odd spot here. i like the variety but not when it comes from new killers.

Today I got a match with a Wraith with one hour in the game. Since it takes quite the while to complete the tutorials, I believe that this was their very first match. My three teammates all had between 500-800 hours. I myself have 420 hours.

Yeah, whatever MMR is it is not the solution to replace old matchmaking. I never know what I’m going to get in either role.
