Hey guys! I am a red grade 4 and honestly I have been getting 3 and 4ks by killing with Devour Hope and thing's like that and all I am getting is Brutal Killer? I am not camping or tunnelling or anything, I feel like I am being ripped off completely, I have should have at least got Ruthless, May someone explain please? I am working so hard to pip up and honestly I get punished :/

End-game gradings are based on the emblem system still, I believe.

A lot of those emblem points come from performing actions a lot, like hooking, rather than flat out killing everyone.

You can see how emblem scores are calculated here:

Fun fact: You can actually get merciless killer even if someone escapes by hooking everyone 11 times and getting enough emblem score elsewhere as well.

    Edit:

So to answer your question, you're probably not hooking or interacting with others enough to get a better score. That's especially easy to do with devour's insta downs and executes.

Thank you, I just had a game where I hooked loads of times as my Devour got broken and got a 3k still Brutal :(

Rip, that sucks, I've been there before.

Other than hooking, chases and generator speeds can be notorious sections to fulfill for a good score. Then there's also a damage state and healing based emblem as well if I recall.

But in particular if you play a one-shot killer, or someone with quick chases overall, this category can be difficult to fill up.

And then the generator-based emblem can be a pain since you get more points in this section if less generators are completed every second, which can be tough if they rush generators down early.

I really wouldn't worry too much about this though, as emblems don't do anything nowadays except contribute to ranking. But ranks don't matter now that MMR is a thing, so it's purely cosmetic.

I am sorry to hear you have been through the same, I just think this gams doesn't reward you for actually doing your job which I thought was killing? It is frustrating though when you are trying to pip, You have done everything to do so and the game just makes a joke out of it pretty much.

Your kills will raise your mmr higher even though you're not pipping.

Yeah, it can feel that way sometimes.

The grading system for killers was made with such rounded requirements in an effort to promote chases, multiple hooks, and general interaction with survivors and discourage camping primarily. So when you do well but don't get the positive reassurance of your performance at the end, it can feel bad, I agree.

That said, take comfort in knowing that your actual skill and progress is evaluated by the new hidden MMR system which is based solely on how many people you killed. It is hidden, so you can't really see it, but if you kill 2 or more people your MMR will certainly have increased.

That said, a more outwardly positive and viewable reassurance of your performance using the new kill system would be nice too.

Thank you so much guys for all your help, I really appreciate it, It just makes you feel a bit beaten up when you have tried your hardest and it feels like you don't get rewarded but I understand what you guys have said 😊

What I do, especially when games are really going your way, is give them some breathing room. Let them unhook, or heal a couple states then rush back in. This gives more chase points when survivors are healed, (unless exposed ofc) but this is why I don't use most insta down perks.

This includes not camping or tunneling, you want the extra chase and hit points as well as more time for the game to count points for gens not done.
