Why are BHVR trying to make All Kill a big deal?
Seriously you can have your own opinion on this chapter but I personally hate it and I’m tired of it being pushed down my throat.
Trickster has so far received 3 new full sets of cosmetics. Twins has got 1 and slinger has got 3 unique sets for comparison. Even blight only has 2 non recolours and one is a set.
Not to mention both trickster and yun Jin have got archive lore way earlier than most characters. Their base lore is already long so I don’t see the need when characters like feng or Adam are in much more need of extra lore. You could say it’s because they are more popular but from my experience neither are that popular even with all of this
It just seems like BHVR is trying to make a big deal out of an underwhelming chapter and not accept it was a disappointment

To be fair, it was a semi-licensed one that they worked with real kpop professionals to get done, so they probably want to make that extra effort worth it.
Also, the lore was never the problem with that chapter release, so it's hardly a problem that they're doubling down on the lore segment.

Didn't sell worth a crap on release....Go round 2.

I'm sure it's probably a bigger deal in South Korea for their culture to have some representation in the game. Plus, K-Pop is widely popular, so it makes sense from a marketing perspective. That being said, I do agree and hope less popular characters get some more love in the future.
19 -
The characters are probably very popular.

BHVR clearly put more effort into this one presentation-wise and does not want it to go to waste. I think that is a very reasonable stance.
7 -
Honestly while they definitely put some effort into the presentation oni and deathslinger are both infinitely better representations of their respective areas imo
6 -
I disagree.
5 -
I will agree with twins but deathslinger has a ton of unique cosmetic ideas. You could have him in a prison outfit, railway workers uniform etc

Because

Honestly I stopped playing after the new tome and trickster was definitely on the lower end of killers played. As for yun Jin I didn’t see her too often either

Why not make a feng tome then? Or more huntress cosmetics?
0 -
Just give us ideas on each survivor and killer plz :)
0 -
Im sure you will give it, lets talk about licenesed chars ?
0 -
Any ideas ?
0 -
Are they? Personally I don't see Trickster much. I don't see Yun Jin more than most of the other survivors either.
4 -
I rarely see them... Maybe they are more popular in other countries? Idk.
1 -
Trickster is more popular than Twins. That's all. U don't invest much in character there's only 1 or 2 players play. Last time I saw Twins was mb in September, Why would they make skins for killer almost none is playing
1 -
I think they did excellent and I want them more promoted, yun jin and ji woon is my fav chars as bhvr own chars, after my number 1 re chars.

All kill is a very popular chapter. I don't like it at all but loads on the dbd twitter page love it, especially the cosplay folks

There are few things I hate more than K-Pop and Trickster is one of them.

I would agree but trickster isn’t popular despite all of his cosmetics

Amen. He just doesn't fit in the game, no matter how hard they try, also his bright colour/ neon cosmetics look utter garbage on the maps. His knifeplay is fun though but annoying voice. Feels like devs are really, really desperate to get a foot in the asian market. I just read they payed a k-pop artist to cosplay trickster on stage (...rofl) also i have seen a new movie called Kate that has an action scene with a guy that looks suspiciously similar to him, might be a coincident.

Supporting new characters after their release is a good thing, last time I checked.
1 -
Then why not do it for the other new releases like twins?
11 -
It's extremely annoying the chapter came out ages ago just stop already
5 -
Agreed! 😆

Why not indeed? They should. But I don't see how doing for one set of characters what they should do for all of them is a bad thing. At any rate, Yun-Jin and Trickster getting a tome makes the most sense because the two of them are a set. Their stories are already connected in a way that makes it pretty clear they knew how they wanted to follow up on them from the beginning. They got a tome because they're easy.

It's a shame because they hyped it really well with way more effort than usual and then the big reveal is diet huntress.

I'm so tired of the All Kill push. I wasn't a fan when it came out and disappointed they are already in a rift before characters that have been in the game longer.
This rift as a whole is pretty disappointing though, I'm tired of Feng and Dwight always getting cosmetics while other characters like Adam, Jeff, Zarina and Jane don't have many.
7 -
Surely Trickster, if he's anything, would be Diet Plague?
Either way, to be fair, they did buff him up after the release, he's in a better spot now.

Feng and Dweet don't even have the most cosmetics. Meg does!

Yeah the teasers were actually really good honestly. I wanted all kill to be good but I think it’s time BHVR realised it wasn’t

Problem is he still lacks originality and his power doesn’t have too much to do with his lore
1 -
Well, it does have quite a bit to do with his lore- I think the reason people expected something else was more to do with the name, and I do fully agree that he should've been called something else.
Even just using his power's name for him would've been better. The Showstopper would evoke some kind of performance or act, and his knife-throwing flair would be reasonable to associate with that.
2 -
Thing is his knife throwing is mentioned in like 1 line of the lore where it says he was naturally talented a knife tricks. That’s it.
1 -
You know why. Their launch was a PR disaster and no one plays them. I believe they are the least played killer. But with the latest Deathslinger nerfs that might change.
1 -
Maybe I'm misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that even as The Trickster his stage show included a lot of knife tricks and knife throwing? Plus, he used knives to carve up his victims, which is probably the more relevant part of his lore anyway for his power in-game.
0 -
Then why not try to fix those issues instead of sweeping it under the rug and hoping nobody remembers?
1 -
Maybe you should stop playing if its so bad ?
0 -
Kind of but it still doesn’t really translate well. Doing intricate knife tricks is a lot different than just throwing them at people

And all this posts are from 200h players i guess :D

Fair criticism. I think it's generally okay, I'd rather interesting stories with powers that only kinda make sense to be associated with them than boring stories with very faithful powers.
Look at Wraith- his lore barely matches up with his in-game power, but both are just fine.
0 -
Agreed that the name fits his lore fine.
Additionally, people also complain that the name 'Trickster' doesn't match his ability, but conveniently ignore how the exact same thing applies to the Nurse (teleportation), Doctor (electric blasts), Clown (nausea gas grenades) and Legion (run fast and repeated stabs).
0 -
They'll fix the issues but not until much, much, much later. Look at how long it took for the Freddy rework after his launch nerfs, or fixing Blight's FOV, or how Legion years later after their nerfs is finally getting changes in the next mid-chapter patch.
BHVR takes their sweet time to fix thing. Especially when it involves a killer no one plays.

I'd argue that Doctor's fits his ability fine since his electric blasts are very specifically electroshock therapy, which is a medical procedure. The rest stand, though.
1 -
I can understand why Twins aren't getting much attention - they're notoriously unpopular and I'm not sure any amount of outfits or tomes could change that. Maybe a full rework, but even then, I see massive uninterest in their design and lore. Blight and Deathslinger have no excuse, though, as quite popular characters with large followings - though Blight did get plenty of lore in the halloween events leading up to and during his release. And poor Deathslinger just got shot in the leg again.
I do get the impression Trickster is a dev favorite, probably at least partly due to the collaboration. They really don't want him to go to waste; I suspect it's why he got buffed so quickly relative to other killers. I'm still surprised he got to cut so many people in line for tomes, though. What a narcissist.

That sweet Asian market.

This forum is a small portion, you cant assume.
I've seen teen in my country willing to commit sui- when their parents not giving them money to attend a Kpop concert, that cost as much as half a month salary at that time.
Kpop is a real big deal in Eastern Asia.

All kill was a really nice concept and honestly I think trickster would have fit in well, it is the fact it was basically a collab so everything about him from lore to power was made super boring and basic so he would sell better, and after he in fact did not sell the best, he is now milked with more attention than everyone to try and keep milking sales. Trickster was the start of the trend I'm scared to see continue in DBD where they keep making things that are mega boring and basic because they look "cute" or "quirky", and people buy them up and then act surprised the game isn't getting better.
