Who at BHVR thought Trickster was a good design?
This killer pretty much goes against everything that makes a killer fun. This is the one killer that I actually feel like can just leave the game entirely because his visuals and his gameplay don't fit in DBD at all. There's no counterplay when in a 1v1 and once you are getting focused down with 14 knives that will hit you no matter what you do, everyone's stuck on gens getting bored to death. Once they do get their turn of being chased, no interactive multiplayer experience.
Sorry for the rant, but ######### this killer. No matter whether I win or lose, I want to blow my brains out. I'd rather play against basement Bubba.
EDIT: I need people to understand that when I say a killer is boring I don’t say they’re OP at all. I might escape against Trickster a lot but it doesn’t change the fact that going against him is so dull.

Never said he was good, just saying how boring he is to face because he has no fun counterplay. Should've worded it better.

His counterplay is to hold W, put ######### in your way, and mainly use high wall loops. Interactive gameplay.
I agree though, his power is horribly designed. I do admit I enjoy playing him however.

The same people who think Pig needs nerfs, Deathslinger needed nerfs, redesigned the game, added boon totems to the game, thought huntress lullaby was too powerful, nerfed thrill of the hunt.

It sounds like your bitter at loosing to trickster. He very much fits into the game. Not every killer is going to look mutated beyond reality. We have plenty human killers and bright outfits for everyone. I enjoy the counter play. It forces me to use and understand my environment to stay safe.

I literally just beat one though, I still find him incredibly boring to play against. I guess that is a problem.

He is very situational, on certain maps with poor cover he is super deadly, on others you can loop him for quite awhile, especially if you have the right position on the map. While I agree it is annoying to get downed by him due to the bad luck of running into him in a spot where there is no counterplay, I'm really not sure what the best way for BHVR to go about nerfing him would be. Slower knife throws? Lower knife carrying capacity? Slower move speed while knife throwing? They definitely don't need to overnerf him, his whole character is his ability to end chases quickly, he has poor gen pressure and speed.

You're forcing an opinion onto someone on the internet. OP literally stated they're fine if you like his gameplay. I disagree with OP saying his visuals don't fit in the game, and I enjoy playing Trickster, but people have the right to have separate opinions from you.

The way you see Trickster is the same way I see Clown, Legion, Ghostface, Deathslinger and Pig. They're humanoid killers who are no different than most regular people.
The thing that makes them unique (including Trickster) is they each have their quirks.
Trickster fits DBD as he embodies the psychotic crazy that resembles the Joker from the Batman series, who doesn't care about fame or money but his ego and ambition to kill. His creepy smile alone gives me the creeps.
Many people do hate his pretty boy persona, but for me, Trickster is the inner crazy killer that DBD lacked this whole time.

I disagree on him not fitting in DbD, he's like Ghostface but more colorful but I do agree on his Power being badly designed. I'll always say this when talking about Trickster, he had quite a wide range for abilities due to his unique design but they went for the most boring idea ever, being a Huntress clone

What is even funnier is trickster isn't even GOOD, like all the other "animation = injury" killers are better than him at almost everything. Trickster is not only extremely unfun and boring for survivors, but he also isn't even fun and strong for the killer player either.

Tbf, legion and ghostface fit that more, ghostface especially. Trickster more fits along side the crazed artist niche. Even then, his lore isn't even that amazing, the kpop industry in real life is really rough and they could've made his lore really deep but skipped on it to make it way more basic since it was basically a kpop collab (can't make kpop look bad). Same thing they did to his power, made it really easy to understand but mega boring so it would hopefully sell good.

Tricksters design is great and fits fine with dbd's tone and atmosphere. When I play him or against him I love his aesthetics and his mumbling. If you wanna talk lore I don't really care which is why I'm nowhere near as bothered as everyone seems. His item descriptions and initial character bio were more than enough for me. The complaints on this half really seem like people caring way to much about a single character.
His power is either unstoppable or comes pre-stopped depending on the map and the survivors collective iq. It'd be cool if he had a different power, but he doesn't, and I doubt that'll change.
No I don't care about an opening video I skip regardless of who it is and a handful handful rift things I'll either hammer out or just ignore because why would I care.
These are obviously my opinions. I'm not saying you have to agree with me.

Best strategy against Trickster is as soon as you know its him run straight to him, tbag point tbag tbag point (in that order) , get downed and suicide on hook. Easy, next game.
If he doesnt hook you and slugs dont let anyone heal you and you'll soon be out, stick on a Youtube video while you wait. Done, out.

Honestly I like his visuals but I hate his playstyle and power.
Trickster himself is fine and a welcome addition to DbD for me. Insane artists need to stand out and K-Pop is a nice background for him to have. However his power sucks and I agree with everything you said about it...I made a suggestion for a rework just now to make him better...

Mainly meaning a 1v1 scenario. Trickster is dog water at the 1v4 but I can’t do anything meaningful when he’s right on top of me and that’s terrible design.

He's absolutly fashion, style and has a unique design, but, for me, he would be more interesting and atractive if recieve completly rework on his power. i said earlier on another post about trickster. He can so much frustrate playing as or against. Its boring, and, he is a completely ridiculous for consoles. Please rework him BHVR

Buff: Give him some map pressure like actual slowdown when landing knives on survivors rather than the laceration meter just passively going down. Capacity back up to 60 knives.
Nerf: Increase it back to 8 knives to damage and give us a better way to dodge the knives rather than just holding W and hoping there’s ######### in the way.

Honestly, I love his design, visuals, lore. I would definitely be a Trickster main, but his power is a big NO. So much boring and it lacks innovation.

He has the same problem that Clown, Slinger, Nemesis, etc have and it's a strong down but 0 map presence. The issue is they can down quickly but can't pressure the map well so rushing the gens is best way to beat them. The problem is you can't nerf (Well they can look at Slinger) there 1v1 without giving them something for map pressure. These killers are not the best in the game already so taking/nerfing there only strong spot does not fix them.
We all know these characters can't be fixed properly.....Nicest way to say it.

I had a Behaviour employee confirm that the Trickster design was a divisive one, but there is someone higher up who loves K-Pop and does not really understand the horror element of the game. I mean there is a whole genre of Death Metal, not to mention bands like Kiss or Gwar or Skinny Puppy which have massive fan bases, are much larger than K-Pop, and have the right aesthetics for the game.

Oh please, as if spirit/plague/pig/bubba is not 20x worst than easy to counter trickster, Stupid vomit killing your chances to heal at 0, spirit with her stupid confusing ways of even stopping good loopers which I still want that dust kick nerf on her, bubba with his no brain spamming easy chain saw and pigs who tunnel you even after they put a bear trap on your head already. Compared to killers like those trickster is NOTHING.
