Hey, Survivors. Over Here. We...Need To Have A Talk.
Don't worry, nothing too serious. We just need to establish some ground rules here. Feel free to add your own (curious what survivors have to say to killers).
- If I down you and chase someone else, you crawl off and hide and I can't find you, don't complain that I didn't pick you up.
- If I patrol back past a hook on my way to the next gen, that's not camping. Neither is seeing you on your way to unhook and giving chase or catching you healing directly under the hook. I'll try not to outright camp unless I'm getting mauled, but I don't have to give you the unhook either.
- If you want to play grab-ass while I'm hooking, don't complain when you end up getting hooked yourself.
- If you are absolutely smoking me, consider easing up a bit. We all get less BP if you just slam out gens and hide all the time.
- Similarly, if you have an early DC or are getting pulped, I'll probably ease up a bit and let you do some gens, heal and the like. If you just want the game to end, come to me.
- If you BM (teabagging, flashing etc.) and I tunnel you down...well, you wanted my attention and you got it. Feel free to DC.
- If I remember you as someone who BMed me in the past, you'll get the strongest addons/perks I have available to me, and I'll do my level best to make sure you die first.
- This also goes for people who consistently abuse the possible pseudo-infinites on Badham, RPD and Haddonfield.
- If you switch to items last second, I may suffer mysterious internet problems or find myself called away on urgent business. You know what you did.
- Sometimes you'll get hit by a lunge that looked like you were clear. Sometimes I'll get hits that mysteriously vanish. We both have lag sometimes, and, since I don't control the servers, yelling at me in postgame is a bit pointless. Roll with it, we all get bad bounces.
- I will bring addons sometimes. If you never bring toolboxes, medkits, flashlights etc. then and only then do you get to complain about them.
- No, I don't have wallhacks. It's probably Discordance or Lethal Pursuer.
- Be aware that blood pools and scratches leading to a locker is sort of a give-away.
- Lastly, be aware that there is a living, breathing human being on the other end of that spooky avatar, and I'm trying to have fun with you in a frustrating game.
How about you?
EDIT: Since this seems to have jostled someone's undergarments, yes - this post is at least partially tongue-in-cheek.

I like most of these, but I do not let survivors who walk up to me out of the game early. Especially if noone DC'd prior to that. You don't get to leave early with some bloodpoints if you're willing to tank your team. You can DC to get out, or I'll slug you and make sure you die last so that you get out lost.
1 -
I'm pretty sure you admitted to breaking two separate rules.
- If I remember you as someone who BMed me in the past, you'll get the strongest addons/perks I have available to me, and I'll do my level best to make sure you die first.
That's specific targeting in order to deny an enjoyable experience.
- If you switch to items last second, I may suffer mysterious internet problems or find myself called away on urgent business. You know what you did.
That's DC'ing and we all know that's against the rules.

Lets not pretend like these are egregious offenses in the grand scheme of things. I am quite sure he will never be punished for either. Outside of DC penalty, anyway.
7 -
It's literally specifically mentioned in the rules of the game.
And they admitted to it.

Hello, mister Hall Monitor.
Firstly, if the tone of the OP wasn't self-evidently tongue-in-cheek, then I don't think you were paying attention.
Secondly, if having a petty rivalry in a videogame is bannable, go ahead and ban me.
Ditto DCs. I see a survivor do this at least 2-3 times a day. I'd happily accept a ban if they started coming down harder on DCers.

You can admit to a lot of things and not get in trouble, and I'm referring to real world litigation. There needs to be evidence that he's done it, but that's beside the point.
Most killers will remember those special few survivors who are #########, and they will punish them accordingly.
2 -
Cool motive, still breaking the rules.
3 -
I don't make the rules.
2 -
Admitting to doing it is not breaking the rules, again, their must be evidence :). Also, key word on that is 'repeatedly'. I won't push the matter though, I've seen you be a stickler in other threads. You are certainly consistent.
2 -
Of course not, but you *are* being a deliberate wet blanket. Which is why I described you as playing Hall Monitor.
Again, I'm not doing anything wrong by focusing down one survivor that I recognize. They have established a rivalry, and I'm running with it. The cocky character never makes it out of the movie alive anyway :).

Agreed I have a small list of Survivors that will always get special attention from me....you know who you are Flashlight Dwight with the clicky click addiction
4 -
Do bones.
2 -
The worst is people who flash you while you're breaking a pallet. Gives me an actual headache sometimes.
Another thing that really grinds my grapes is SWF's who play 3-4x identical characters, extra annoyance points if they all play blendettes.
0 -
What's worse is when they know you have Lightborn and clickyclick so many times that it gives me headaches.
1 -
As a survivor main. I agree with this
2 -
One you missed: I try not to tunnel, but if your rescuer disappears as soon as they unhook you and you're the only person I've located on the whole map, I don't really have room to leave you alone. And if you ran straight at me because you wanted me to eat your Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike, don't complain if I commit.
I especially like the lines about getting wrecked and wrecking the opposing team, because yeah - it makes for better games if everyone has a chance, or at least the opportunity to make plays and earn points. I never like seeing people DC or suicide on hook out of sheer discouragement. I'll start making mistakes on both sides if the game is tipped hard in my favor, and if I'm killer, I might go faffing around the map or hunting pumpkins to let the enemy team reset or do some gens (as survivor, I'll bait a chase and then intentionally screw up, or go around opening chests or memeing, though I also have to do bones as a rule of thumb when the killer's really getting smoked.) Earlier today I went afk for a few minutes in the middle of a game because I'd hammered the survivors so hard. Yesterday a struggling Nemesis didn't see the closest hook and I wiggled off, and I waited for him to down me again rather than running away - he let me escape at the end of the game. A couple of days ago, there was a massive basement pileup and I let the last survivor wiggle off so they could unhook everyone else and get out of the shack before I started chasing again. Stuff like that earns a lot of goodwill.
And of course, the last line is tantamount. We're all just people trying to have fun here. We could stand to take things a little less personally.

U are wrong here. He didn't explain how he is going to act against survivors he don't like, so without evidence it's your word vs his.
And unplugging internet isn't griefing. It's also not bannable because noone gets hurt. Game is just cancelled.
0 -
Okay.
Yes, I'm consistent in what are rules and what are not.
Deliberately targeting someone in several matches is reportable. Whether or not you agree is irrelevant. OP isn't going to be banned for this post, nor should they be unless there is evidence.
3 -
Okay. Ask a Mod if specifically focusing on one Survivor who upset you in the past in order to get them out of the game first is targeting.
2 -
"I'll do my level best to make sure you die first."
I think they do say what they are going to do.
3 -
The thing is, your rules mean nothing. Because the next killer might just target me for playing a blendette, wearing a pride charm, or just escaping him in a chase.
And the next might just insidious camp anyway.
Also, i never bring items, but always bring plunderers instinct. Can i complain about your addons, since you said i can if i never bring anything, but i am going to have something anyway.
0 -
Yeah, my bad. I missed it.
0 -
That rule is more against stream snipers and players that actually try to ruin your game for lot of games and looking for you.
That can't really be used when he gets to play against them by a chance based on normal match-making, it can happen more often now because of MMR tho.
If someone used flashlight macro or pisssed me enough for me remember him, he is gonna die... but of course I am just trying to win and I just considered him as a weak link.
3 -
"Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates"
Yeah, I have broken this rule so many times...
Snitches get hatches
1 -
More like snitches get hatchets...
If someone sells out their team, I'm gonna kill their team, don't get me wrong, but they are also totally dying too.
0 -
Nooo, you are mean...
I always have fun when there are 2 survivors left I give survivor I down first an option to snitch on other survivor unless they pissed me off during game.
They snitch quite often...
0 -
No, it isn't. It might encompass that, but this rule has been in place for a long time.
streamsniping isn't even reportable either.
The OP admitted that if a Survivor did something they didn't like in a previous match, they would actively and deliberately seek them out and make sure they died first.
That's pretty spot on to what this rule is about. Deliberately seeking someone out in order to ruin their experience.
2 -
It's against the rules and it's dishonorable, I'd never snitch on another Survivor unless they were cheating or exploiting ect ect.
One of those is opinion, the other isn't. Whether or not it's enforced is different.
1 -
You are completely ignoring word "repeatedly"
You think tunneling random guy is against rules, but stream sniping survivors / killers just to kill them / break their streaks is fine?
1 -
I mean, I prefer this way more over 30 minutes hide and seek with last two survivors, but everyone has different style...
I have snitched a lot and I always try to donate items to get hatch.
I don't really care it's against rules, I have seen too many cheaters for that to worry about.
0 -
That's the issue.
Stream sniping is insanely hard to prove. Which is why this specific rule is in place. It catches all of them in one net.
Also, this wouldn't be random. The OP described a situation where a Survivor would do something they didn't like, then in a new match sometime down the road, they would take out their frustration from the previous match by ensuring the Survivor did not get to enjoy the current match. Does that not seem problematic?
0 -
I've seen a few cheaters with Crossplay off myself.
Not an enjoyable experience, that's for sure.
1 -
Not really. He is not doing anything to actually play against him, it's random by match-making. That is way different than players that actually are looking for a specific player to ruin their games, but both are hard to prove, so I doubt anyone was ever banned for this.
For me it's actually super rare to remember someone, they had to piss me off a lot, or they had to be really good / nice.
He is just killing him, it's not like he is letting him bleed out on ground, or block somewhere and just waste as much of his time as possible. He just decided to tunnel one survivor, nothing new.
0 -
I don't really care about cheaters that just wanna troll.
But I have played against cheaters that tried to hide it, which results in just unfair game that can ruin experience of a killer even more.
And worst are cheaters that are able to survive end game collapse and hold you hostage... That's the biggest issue
0 -
I play on Xbox so most of the cheaters I've encountered have crashed my game.
0 -
So if I make a note of one Survivor, and repeatedly tunnel them out first it's fine?
0 -
He is not searching for him, so yeah.
It's just super low chance to play against same player several times, unless you try to do it by constaly dodging lobbies and searching for him. That is an issue.
When he randomly plays against one player like twice in one month and decides to tunnel him? not really an issue imo.
Just don't be toxic and you are fine, it's that simple. It's quite rare for me to deal with actual tunneling, or camping from first hook. I think either those players that see it often have someone toxic in their SWF group that pissed off a killer, or it's low MMR thing.
Also big issue imo is that most survivors don't know how tunneling / camping actually looks, nor understand why it can happen from killer's POV. For most, it's just any excuse why they lost that game.
1 -
Copy and paste thread number 178494625 of "I'll play however I want"
0 -
I literally see the same groups every single day.
Like, I only match against one or two 4-man's when I play Pinhead or Blight. Consistently. Only two. Every day.
0 -
It's because you have cross-play off.
Cross-play off doesn't mean you play only with console / PC, you play only with console / PC that also have cross-play off, so way less players, so you have higher chance to play against same players than normal players with cross-play on have.
1 -
I'm aware that it lessens the pool and the restrictions.
0 -
So why are you suprised that you play against same players more often?
Funny is that I don't think it actually means that you play only against console players. Microsoft store DBD counts as a "console" right? I know I have had chat with some players that had console symbol and cheaters can act like console too.
0 -
Crossplay off means it's only Xbox One. Not even the Series X counts, apparently.
I'm not surprised, I'm merely saying it's entirely possible to ruin somebody's day repeatedly, but you said it isn't bannable because it can't happen often.
0 -
Yeah, you are still not looking for a specific player on purpose.
Playing by match-making is different than dodging lobbies to search for one player.
How survivors act changes how killer acts, it's simple. If someone wants my attention, I will give them my attention.
2 -
Not going to lie, the survivor rule book was a better read.
0 -
You have read all 8672 rules?
2 -
I'm starting to feel like this game would make for an interesting in depth psychological study ... >_>
1 -
Wish you were a Killer I could face more frequently. 💜
1 -
I definitely agree with most of these. Another one: If you’re purposely getting in my way because you have BT, even if I’m going after the unhooker, don’t get mad if I tunnel you
1 -
that first one could not be anymore true.
