Hopefully we get some more boon perks in the PTB
I want to see what kind of boon perks BHVR can come up with. It’s nice that they’re letting us change the meta with them and I think there will be some good ones coming.

I hoping for them too. We should have gotten 3 boon perks with Mikaela. I also hope they are balanced and fair

I hope we don’t get any in this PTB because they just came out with 2 perks.
5 -
I hope they can balance boon perk with the next patch because im tired of facing them almost every match.

The more the merrier.

Raw data without perspective is worse than worthless. It's actively harmful to act upon.
3 -
I sincerely hope not. Boon Totems were always a bad idea, and recent problems are proof of that.
But then again, I won't be in the Fog to see the damage.

This will further show how busted they are since they stack on the totem, so you can have 4 boon effects. People think they're OP with just circle being primarily used. In the future they get better by design, really.

As long as they're not as busted as CoH, I'm up for new Boons

My prediction for a new boon perk, gen speed increased by 20% while within the range of the boon totem!

haha get your popcorn and watch the madness go down!!

Nerf the existing ones then we'll talk

The data says Nurse is by far the worst killer and Pig is one of, if not the, strongest.
The point can certainly be argued, but the community has a good reason to feel they understand what's healthy for the game better than the devs do. Data needs to be differentiated by rank/SBMM to be valuable and if they do that, they've never indicated so.
But yeah - like others have said, I don't want to see more boon perks until COH and Shadow Step have been reviewed. They need to decide on how boons should work as a base mechanic and what power level is appropriate for them before they start adding more.

Boon: Vengeance
Survivors who have been hooked at least once and are within the Boon Totem's range benefit from the following effect:
- The next time they stun the killer, the killer is instead put into the Prone state.
Prone: While prone a killer may be picked up by a survivor and placed on a hook. The killer must succeed at a difficult skill check to escape the hook.

I somewhat doubt it since they're probably harder to design for than the other types of perks, but I do hope we see more interesting ones down the line.
Personally, I'm hoping for more Scourge Hook perks.

Ironically, that actually wouldn't be a worthwhile boon unless you got a totem in range of two generators. It takes 14 seconds to bless. If I've done my math correctly, it takes 64 seconds to complete a gen with a 20% speed boost, and 64 + 14 = 78 - not far from the original 80, and probably equivalent or higher when you include running between the totem and the gen. Much higher when you factor in that you need to find the totem before starting the gen. It could be useful, but totem spawns aren't controllable and I suspect it'd actually be one of the worse boon perks.
So how about the following ones instead?
-Exhaustion timer goes down while running when in the boon zone
-Survivor movement speed increased by 10% in the boon zone
-Survivors in the boon zone gain permanent Endurance until they leave
I can't think of anything that could go wrong.
(NGL, I'm legitimately terrified that any of these will eventually appear. The current bar for boons is set distressingly high.)

New boon: Takes only 8 seconds to set up (instead of the default 14 seconds), but doesn't do anything, if the Killer stomps it they get stunned for 3/3.5/4 seconds.

Boon: Haunted ground

Hope a balance to the mechanic itself comes before a new Boon.

I agree, Boons in general are neat. They might need to adjust the specific healing speed of Circle of Healing and maybe the radius of Shadow Step but aside from that I like that Boons work slightly differently from Hexes, it makes things interesting.
1 -
So is perspective without data.

I kind of doubt we'll see new boon perks this soon, on the next season survivor. The reason that Mikaela can make them is that she is a literal witch, I doubt the next survivor will be a witch.

Lol, could you imagine little tiny Feng Min picking up Clown or Nemesis and hooking them? Would look hilarious.

FYI Your hypothesis that the data shows Nurse is the worst is incorrect. You’re taking just a single visible chart of kill rates of all killers over all matches that the devs themselves said isn’t the whole picture and isn’t the full data picture they use for balance purposes.
1 -
ehh I get what you’re saying but I doubt behavior will just give us these 2 boon perks that we have and never make any new ones. It’s kind of like the new hexes for survivors. But we’ll have to wait and see I could be wrong.

Oh, I agree, they will give us more, I just doubt we will see them so soon. They'll definitely want to come up with a survivor where the lore makes sense for them being able to make a boon totem.
1 -
I can already picture the new boon totems we'll get in the future.
---
Boon: Holy Intervention
Any killer within the boon's field gains a stacking hindered debuff that reduces their movement speed (down to a maximum of 75% base speed) over 5 seconds. If the killer stays in the field for 6 seconds or longer, they instantly die and respawn somewhere in the map, stuck, with their head sticking out of the ground.
Boon: Evil Purge
Teabagging a stuck killer grants 100 BP in each category, and removes the 8,000 BP cap in each category. Due to its reliance on comboing with Boon: Holy Intervention, this perk has the additional effect of granting a single-shot shotgun every time you bless a totem. Hitting a killer with a shotgun stuns them in place for 6 seconds.
Both boons can be placed an infinite number of times.
---
Just kidding.
But really, I am looking forward to see what other new controversial boons they'll introduce.

I want to see more Scourge Hook perks. It's an interesting mechanic, but with only one perk of it in the game I don't think we have a good idea of what their power level should be, nor if they have the potential to be powerful enough to see regular play. Ideally the new Killer has an Obsession, Hex and Scourge Hook perks- we could always use more. Boons too, but less so :p
1 -
We definetly need a Boon Totem which is called "Learn to Fly".
1 -
I'm not really convinced of that. Hexes were founded with Hag, and Spirit's hex made plenty of sense considering she's a vengeful ghost and all, but what do Deathslinger, Trickster, or Blight have to do with witchcraft and curses? At some point it just becomes another game mechanic that's open for everyone.
1 -
I suppose a decent counter to that argument is that they'd probably want the first few boons to make sense narratively, and then branch out into pure mechanical value?
I still think they'll wait a little while for design purposes, though. Still, I could be wrong!
1 -
Hopefully this killer has at least one perk, hex or otherwise, that counters boons.
Would be great to see a hex like plaything that can activate over blessed totems.
1 -
yea its hard to see in fog
1 -
I like the concept of Boons, but until they get balanced I don't want any new ones in the game.
2 -
Everyone except the people that only play survivor 100% of the time.
1 -
They are fun in theory, but in practice need some pretty dramatic changes to how they work.
