The game should be locked to 30fps.
I play on the switch version and it's honestly not fair that pc and the newer consoles can use and exploit higher frame rates then the switch and older consoles can't.
This is why to make it a more even playing field(not to mention more cinematic, like a horror movie). I think the game should be locked to 30fps for all platforms.

Funny cause I think they would do this sooner than we ever live to see actual console optimization
12 -
Considering gow my PS4 performance was at times they might want to cap it at 10fps to be on the safe side.
3 -
No.
9 -
So you wanna crap on literally everyone else just because you play on switch and it runs bad?
8 -
Why not just make it 1 fps and call it good
5 -
As a more serious answer no, the unfair thing is bhvr's disinterest in console optimisation or really any consideration for console users at all, and with full knowledge of how the game worked (for want of a better word) on PS4 and xbone, decided a really good idea would be to release it also on switch.
2 -
"I have a bad experience with the game so let's make everyone else make a bad experience too". Lmao get a PC and stop whining.
14 -
This toxic pc elitism needs to end.
Not everyone can afford a 3k pc to play dbd well.
And not everyone wants to be hunched over a desk. Some people like to sit back and "try" to enjoy dbd while playing on their couch with a tv(or in my case, in handheld mode).
3 -
Try harder, then.
3 -
The switch can only do so much.
This is why we need to lower the fps cap and make it fair across the board.
1 -
Turn off crossplay..
7 -
I don't think you're going far enough here. We also need to think about how much PC and console players exploit in terms of graphics. They should also be reduced to Nintendo Switch graphics. And if we really want to get rid of all exploits the devs should consider making keyboard and mouse's bannable - only controllers allowed.
3 -
Why even have frames, everyone should just have to throw their device off a cliff
1 -
i think it should actually be 24fps for an authentic "cinema-style" experience.
on top of that, what's with all the brightness in this game? let's crank that down a few notches to make this game a true horrorfest! make sure those PC cheaters don't have such an easy time with their unfair nvidia filters that let them see me through walls.
and how about a maximum sensitivity cap? why should our console brethren (heroes) have to face PC cheaters with infinite sensitivity that let them do exploits like the OP jflick and oni flicks when we're FAIRLY!!! playing the game on our controllers, which were MEANT FOR GAMING, unlike those glorified typewriters. fix this injustice, devs.

If it didn't take years to get games, that would be an option.
1 -
You have the answer to your problem.
You cannot expect everyone else to be gimped because you choose to play on a less powerful system. You either have to live with it or deal with the wait times.
3 -
But they wouldn't be gimped. Just their high fps exploits would be taken away and we'd all be on a level playing field.
1 -
Of course they would be gimped. When you're forcefully reducing something from it's potential you are gimping it...
Console needs optimization without a doubt but reducing everybody to 30fps is never going to happen.
2 -
Im not on a glorified typewriter. Im on a glorified console.

Coming from you who wants everyone else's experience ruined. lmao.

No way. I moved from PS4 to PC to get higher FPS. If you think it's a disadvantage to play with people using higher frames (it really isn't, the impact of FPS on DBD is not that big), turn off crossplay.
Also people on PC will just uncap the FPS anyway, you would just be screwing people on PS5 and Series.
EDIT: although I think they should add console-only crossplay. With the amount of problems on last gen consoles and how playing killer on a controller SUCKS due to the lack of settings, I think it would be fair to at least let people on Switch, PS and Xbox play together. PC queues were better before crossplay anyway.

I own a PC and not a Console to have a better experience in gaming. I feel sorry for Console-players, especially the Switch-Release was pure arrogance from BHVR (PS4 and XBox already had problems back then and still they released the game on the console with the weakest hardware).
But I dont think PC-Players should suffer just because BHVR decides to bring the game to platforms which cannot handle it either due to limited hardware or poor optimization.
2 -
It doesn't take a gaming PC for 3k.
Even a Series S for around 300 bucks can run DBD on completely stable 60 fps.
3 -
Going from 120 frames to 30 would make me quit ngl, it’d be so bad for my head lmao
2 -
First: Why.
0 -
How does that help anything
0 -
my PC is almost 10 years old at this point and runs DBD with no issues. It was 1.5K when I bought it.
Honestly I think owning a console is more expensive than a moderately specc'd PC in the long run lol, especially if you want to buy lots of games.
0 -
Ahh yes and everybody on the streets should drive slower since I can't afford a new car and have to continue with my 3cylinder/50PS rust bucket. Sure.
3 -
DBD should be converted to a 2D side scroller.
4 -
I should not be handicapped because bhvr didnt optimize the game on any other platform besides pc. Instead of telling me to lower my fps you should be telling the devs to fix your platforms version.
1 -
I cap my game to 60fps, even though my computer can run higher. Honestly imo the cap should be 60. This game would be terrible with only 30fps.
Is that seriously what you have to play on the Switch?
Also I think Dead by Daylight should take the For Honor route and require players to have a fast connection to play - if you don't meet the requirement the server just boots you from matchmaking with an alert telling you need a faster connection to play. It would be better for the server load too.
1 -
More like 500 bucks. It's not my fault that you don't want to be on a desk so don't make the rest of us miserable because of your laziness. Imagine instead of asking the devs to fix the game for other platforms ask them to ruin it for PC players. Spoiler, the game is also buggy and bad optimized even on PC.

Dead by Daylight the slideshow

A pc that can run DBD is 800€ in EU not 3k like you said , a 1050 TI is good enough to Handle it
thats not an exploit , just a game that switch can't handle as is . its BHVR 's mistake to port tha game AS IT on switch , its not the community to downgrade their gameplay for you , im sorry. so if you want to play the game at his best buy a new pc , xbox , ps5 or if you dont want you can still blame the devs not the community.

How do you exploit fps?

Nintendo switch is hindered already by being the switch. I'm neither a console hater nor a Nintendo hater, but a game that has cross-platform should NEVER be "balanced" around the weakest link. We already don't have an un-cap for 60Hz+ which is annoying, and to modify some ini-files just to have the game 120hz+ is nothing i recommend as it is buggy.
Switch shouldn't even be comparable to anything as it isn't a console in the traditional way, i mean they gave up really quick on their concept after they realised more people just want a cheap console (switch lite) and you can't have every game with motion sensor or even exclusive, as most people don't have the motion controller detachable. but that is a whole different discussion.
No, hell no, and again no. Never 30FPS feels like a limitation and 14 years into the past, specially on PC it feels like early 2000, i rather set lower graphic settings to have 60FPS.

Playing the game on switch was a choice that YOU made. Maybe you didn't do your homework before buying. Gaming is different with the internet than it was with cartridges. Not we get updates to unpolished games and things break or change.
Don't cry out trying to hamstring others for your poor choices.

My pc its almost 6 years old and i can run DBD with 60 fps on high.. Yep totally elitism to say buy a pc lol
0 -
Well after reading this post I think its unfair to have the game available on switch, switch players should just be deleted - end rant

While I think the notion of locking everyone at 30fps is ridiculous, you have to see and feel this game's performance on console to understand their fustration, and what would inspire a post such as this.
I've said several times here to our PC cousins please borrow a friend's PS4 or whatever and play DBD. Especially killer. Especially on Lery's. And let us all know how it goes.
Being told to just get a PC isn't a viable solution either. Putting aside the cost of the new PC itself, remember there's no Cross Progression nor is it coming for Xbox or PS.
So we'd have to rebuy this game, and the DLC's, and any wanted cosmetics, oh and the best part relevel everyone from scratch. Those with thousands of hours into DBD aren't likely to do that again from nothing. You know the grind of this game.

They just need to remove the game from switch and replace it with the mobile version of the game and lock mobile and switch together in cross platform, nobody should have to lessen the frames because you're trying to run dbd on what's essentially just a tablet , either save your money and upgrade or uninstall the game if you don't like it

I don't know what games do people play on switch but I think that you shouldn't play multiplayer 4v1 game like that. If you want to chill on the couch while playing, try to play singleplayer or accept dbd as it is. Why should a PC gamer suffer with low fps because of switch? I've had a bad PC couple of years ago and tried to play CS:GO with 30 fps. I was literally suffering and other players had 60 and more. Sure it feels bad, but my solution was to get a better PC and I did, never even considered a possibility of other dudes with a good pc playing with 30fps for no reason. Also, people would actually stop playing dbd because of that. Imagine that you have a good one and you have a choice to play dbd in 30fps or literally any other game with 120. And the last thing, can't you just turn off the cross-platform? xD
