i am going to stop playing this game bc of booners
why do 4 man teams now have the option of infinte unbreakable heal and lucky break with the boon totems its broken and i am done i kick the totem but they legit can just spam it how the ######### is anybody gonna counter this with the ######### killers not only that i need to watch 7 gens 5 totems and 4 surv all at the same time boon totems need nerfs and only needs to benefit the person who has put it up its legit making me uninstall bye bye dbd

If you are leaving the game you do not need to make a thread, you can just uninstall and yes boons are really strong and annoying, they are limiting snowball so basically boon unbreakable can counter heavy snowballers like twins, oni, nurse.
Idk what is going through bhvr's mind when coming with these perks.

I don't have that big issue with new boon and shadowstep, but I really hate CoH.
You just have to commit to every chase, which is just bad thing and doesn't really work with weaker killers.
So it's just tunnel time whenever I hear boon.
Another problem is that survivors always know whenever they are under effect of hex and what hex it is. Killer doesn't, he just knows that there is boon, but is it only 1, or all 3?

I wouldn't think that it is that big issue if killer knew what boons survivors have.
But you don't, so you often correct your playstyle (start to tunnel) even when you don't really have to.
I just always think it is CoH, because that is best imo.

So the new boon, which only works in 24 meters, which is enough of a radius for you to hear, is going to counter slugging?
Just step on the boon or don't slug. How difficult is that to counter? You literally can hear it if it's that close.

tunneling is boring and not fun and if you try to tunnel a god you stil lose bc gens go to fast my problem is that its infinate you can use this without problems bc the perks are to strong

I understand your pov honestly, most of us the people that played the ptb know how annoying these perks can and will be, bhvr is known as not giving a crap these days so they won't do anything at all.
Most people don't see issues but I do, I've played against decent to good players who used map offerings and boons to make it as unfun as possible, hit and run was countered, chaser you get gens done fast, snowball is getting countered.
Idc about the killer side as much anymore, sad because I spent over 2.7k hours on killer alone.

Because boons not only work in x axis. They also work on y axis, on smaller maps like coal tower it is actually decently strong to counter slugging and snowballing if you are telling an oni player not to slug then my friend you sound very entitled.
Killers slug to try to get time back and try to reset, not only killers have time management but they also have to patrol gens, chase, worry about perks, have a balanced perk loadout but now we have to also worry about 5 totems.

So it counters a single killer (kind of since you still can change to charlotte). How is that an issue exactly?
I feel like people are making it out to be the same boogeyman like when luckybreak was changed.
Everyone was saying how OP it would be and barely anyone uses it now.

Because charlotte is the reason people play twins, are you trolling? Because if I wanted to play a 115% killer I can just play anyone else but twins.

Luckybreak was nerfed a lot and good survivors are not going to use it, because they want to chase... It's still annoying if you have everyone using it with medkits and indoor offering, but just use shadowstep for that now...
You said that killer will always hear it, which is just not true. You also have multi-layer maps.
It just does counter slugging. Twins get countered most.
If you combine boons, you have one boon that counters hit&run + 3-gen, 1 that counters slugging and 1 that makes it harder to commit and killers can't get rid of it permanently. Only option left is to tunnel / camp or be fine with multiple escapes... enjoy

Almost like boons still take time to set up and not everyone is going to bring all of them anyway.
If you get countered once in a while, because someone happened to bring that one boon and you were too lazy to switch to charlotte to break it, idk what to tell you.

It's almost as if changing from charlotte to victor and vice versa does not take time, it is almost like it takes a while to walk from one side to the other, it's almost as if a survivor has unbreakable can almost guarantee a pick up if the twins player downs them far.
Play twins then we talk, 5 seconds to cooldown, walking from point a to point b, pick up and hook.
It is almost like people do not play buddy system when they are playing against a twins.

The way survivor mains talk about boons it's like they're under the impression that killers can see the same blue radius they do to just estimate the center until the chiming gives it away. It's nothing like that.
Killers don't have any visual & that audio beacon doesn't cover even half the AOE. Besides, not everyone plays using the same audio setup, or headphones at all--especially console players.
Personally? I can barely hear those #########. Maybe its the frequency, maybe its my settings, or maybe it's just my age, but--basically--I've got to be standing right on the bastards to locate them. The 2+ story maps are that much worse. (For the record, I actually do play with headphones & digital surround on as well. They aren't the best or anything, but still.)
Y'know, if the killer actually could see that same blue area-of-effect like survivors do (just minus the totem highlighted) then maybe it would provide the whole "takes time to place, but you just walk up & smoosh!" narrative people keep claiming exists... and keep citing as the defining feature making boons balanced in the first place,,
Well okay if that's why boons are balanced, lets have it...
Its a hell of a lot less punishing to people with hearing difficulties too.

How is it everyone else's fault if someone decides to play without headphones? This game is directional so people should be playing with headphones.

Boon are a problem but its a problem thay make me swich to survivor because i m tired of survivor having free reset at no cost so now i have the free reset at no cost and damn i made a good swich i win 80% of my game as a solo player

Yep agree,I play killer/survivor equally and find as survivor the games are less challenging and sometimes boring and as killer frustrating and unfair.In the past I defended the nerfs/buffs on both sides but boons have tipped the balance in favour of survivors.I have noticed that while playing killer I am immediately matched with a team of survivors the majority of the time but with survivor I am waiting upwards of 10 minutes.A number of my friends are killer mains and have simply stopped as it has transcended from being fun to being a headache.Most including me never really cared whether we had a 4K,1k anywhere in between or even a 0k as long as the game was fun and fair.In respect of this BHVR have managed to remove these elements while making it unchallenging and boring for the survivor players.With two similar games waiting in the wings BHVR better address this soon or they will be the architects of their own demise.

With the new killer perk that reduce gen speed 30% you can expect boon perks on 100% of the matches

Also the sound on multi level maps can be frustrating as it sounds the same proximity wise while playing killer if you are below or above it.

I play with headphones including virtual surround sound as well. (Not $300 gamer 1337 stuff, but they shouldn't have to be).
Headphones certainly offer a vast advantage in many areas of the game, though this game is also intended to be played (and played together with) a number of platforms where headsets aren't even the norm. It's not that absurd to think the devs would make reasonable accommodations so people can better play from televisions without all that. (Or to facetiously apply my favorite SWF egotism: "Now you're PUNISHING ME for having friends on my couch who like to watch me play?!")
Though the real takeaway from my post was essentially:
- The audio cues are still not very helpful for their range, loudness, and directionality.
- Meaning the often claimed balance condition of "easy to find & bust" isn't actually true.
- Yet the blue field-effect that survivors see would make it true, and without directly revealing the totem either still.
- Which improves access for people with hearing issues & also compensates for audio system variation across DBD's many forms/styles
- So there's no real reason killers shouldn't get the blue field effects as well (and every reason they should).

The one thing that bothers me about this boon is that its not a buff to solo but a buff to the most busted thing in game and thats SWF with comms.

I think I need to clean my glasses. First I read that as "quitting because of Boomers", which I doubt there's a ton of Boomers playing DbD but who knows? 🤷♂️ Then I thought it was "quitting because of Boners", which I could understand but didn't want to picture.

I literally uninstalled the game today. Not exaggerating, over 3K hours into the game on console and steam. Lived through all of the "enhancements" the game has introduced and these boons are pathetic. I was on Midwich and each player had CoH and SS and 4 totems going at anyone one time covering both floors. I then when into a haddonfield match with 2 boons and then another haddonfield match and within the first 20 seconds heard a boon turn on. For the first time ever I DC'd as killer and uninstalled. the game has been fun for 5 years but eff this.
I have no idea how BHVR thought this was a good idea and then to follow it up with boon unbreakable. #########?

I would normally agree. This is entirely different. The fundamentals of the game are broken and it's become very unfun. The toxicity, the bugs and now these game-breaking totems and they are making more. I can see survivors loving this and playing the game but I am not sure how most killers are going to stick around unless they camp and tunnel and that isn't fun to me.

Radius needs to be shortened 24 Meters is too far when the Killer only hears it within like 12 meters. It needs to be adjusted accordingly so Killers have a chance to find the nearby Survivor using it. I only find them near where I hook survivors in a jungle gym for example.
