It takes me like 2 minutes for a Survivor lobby.
I've sat in 45 minute Killer queue's tho.

do you have crossplay on?

The answer is that there are more people playing as survivor than killer. In my experience, survivor queues are always significantly longer than killer queues. At peak times it's not so bad, but I often play late, late at night, and survivor queues are really long. Honestly, six minutes isn't all that bad.

It can vary on time of day or night you're playing but if they are like that permanently then I dunno why, just unfortunate I guess

And another queue time discussion bare any useful information.
Can people pls start such discussion with information like this:
I play on PC, eu west (Germany to be precise), X-Play on, after 8pm local time and have instant lobbies as killer. I can't even check my offerings before getting the pop.

^ This. Region and time of day are two of the most important factors when it comes to queue length and which side has the longer queue.
For instance, on the USA (west?) servers I get instant survivor queues during the day and instant killer queues in the evening after about 7pm or 8pm.

Same for eu west. Killer is instant after 8pm and gets longer the earlier in the day it is.

Queue times are purely based on who is playing at that moment in your region. Taking longer, there are simply comparably less of the other role online and playing, there isn't much else to it.
