Genuinely asking, is there anything horrifying about this new killer?
I've been away from DBD since the NFT issue, and am happy without it. But! I still follow along to see what new stuff is coming, and this chapter seems very... not horror. I want to say this new killer seems a lot more like a Fantasy/RPG character, but I also have not played it or anything. Am I understanding this correctly, or is there any aspect of horror to her? The combo of her sci-fi-ish appearance, horrible voice acting, and huge crow heads really makes me feel like DBD just took another leap away from whatever horror was left in it's title.
People who have gotten more involved with this, what do you think of it? Is this chapter anything remotely related to horror?
(This said, I realize dbd is only a horror themed strategy game. But this just seems like it's a feeble attempt at making something interesting that only had horror as an afterthought.)

I find her quite scary. On first glance she looks like a normal human but then she has all those tiny birdlike details that are super unnerving to me.
The bird proportions, the huge iris with the black sclera, the twitchy movement, the head tilts, even the noises.
I adore birds but seeing these things on a human so well blended is creepy af. It's the uncanny valley thing.
I do not like her dress tho
Anyway, about fantasy. Wraith and spirit turn invisible, hag and nurse teleport. Those are powers straight out of some superhero comics. I think she fits in just fine, way better than Demo or Nemesis imo even though I like both.

Yes, there is.

Not really looks like a mod where a Survivor model is forced into a killer model.
This is basically the killer.

shes as scary as trickster

Horrifying?? Have you seen some of the comments on here about how "hot" she is... 🤮🤮🤦♂️🤦♂️

Which is not? Who the hell is scared of K-Pop?

Her giraffe neck and the fact she looks around like a crow is a bit disquieting.
Spoilers: None of the killers are scary. Bear traps don't scare me, nor does a speedy boi with a bell, nor a fat asthmatic clown that throws drug vials.

Do you find this scary⬇️
DBD is a comedy horror game.
Even if it was scary at first it's not going to last long after seeing it for the hundredth time.

God I love the Wayan's scary movies

The first two movies I like.

Yes. New boon totems.

I think she has pretty good aspects of horror with her ink-hands, feet kicks to pallets, strange movement, long neck and overall tone. Her chase music also adds to the flavour and her ability is pretty good looking too. She is a fine addition to the cast.
Do not kink shame. Let them be.
Depends. Are you scared of the Joker? Probably not, who would be scared of a Clown. Scared of Jigsaw? Probably not, who would be scared about a sick old guy...
Fear depends largly on personal opinion as does "good horror". I for one hate movies made around only jump scares and enjoy good monster horror where you can see the creature. Other people hate this and want their imagination to do the work by never seeing the creature...

She’s definitely a bit unsettling and way more scary than trickster

I think she fits the horror mold reasonably well, especially her mori which is pretty wicked.
The only thing I think looks goofy is how she breaks pallets with a right-left kick combo. It just looks silly. If she instead slammed it with some gruesome looking inky tentacle arm it probably would look a lot more vicious.

I like her. IMO she more horror than half the roster.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance
it's Scary Mmm Kay

Imo, her chase music is pretty horrifying to have to sit through.

She'll be nerfed horrifyingly fast.
There will be some genuinely horrifying fanart of her on certain sites.
Honestly though - yeah. She feels like Trickster - like she belongs in another franchise.
Still really like her mechanics though.

Nothing.
I've read her lore and she is simply a tragic sad girl who caused disgrace to people around her unintentionally, and the crow thing it's because yes, only because the crows were near her when she tried to suicide.
1 -
the horror is that survivors can't counter her by playing ring around the pallet and that she can actually gather information rather quickly, which by today's standards, means she is "grossly op and needs to be nerfed to clown level"

Clearly the DbD community as a whole. He lives in their heads rent free as a result
3 -
Yes she is actually strong. That is very scary. I'm a survivor main and I think she needs a nerf. No killer should be that strong without having some sort of some sort of downside. She needs a nerf asap.
I suggest giving survivors a hunting rifle that they can use to shoot her, this would make it easier for the survivors to escape.
(This is sarcasm)

3 onwards is just NONSENSE

The 3rd was the last I watched and from what I can remember it wasn't funny I haven't watched any of the other ones.

To be perfectly honest, I haven’t found any killers’ default design scary/horrifying since Doc. But then, purely visually speaking, hardly anything scares me anymore. Repeated exposure does that to someone.
I do think she looks cool, though. Even though I’m not that big of a fan of the dress. We’ll see what her options will be in the future.

She's not scary in a slasher or jumpscare horror sense like Freddy or Myers, nor scary in a thrilling or suspense sense like Spirit or Blight. She's scary as in creepy and unnerving, like Clown or Doctor.

Nah, She just fell into the "oh my gah shes such a queeen" category of DBD, endorsed by a large portion of the LGBT community, including myself 🙃

I think Carmina fits in just fine. It's her mannerisms. She acts like a bird in a human body - the twitches, the bobbing, the gurgled chirping and shrieks. The pitch-black eyes are the cherry on top of the uncanny valley.
She's way more unnerving than something like Trickster or Legion. I could easily imagine her in a horror movie.
I do think the way her power looks is a bit silly though. I could do without the giant crow heads - that looks like something more out of an action/fighter game than a horror one. Same with her mori, it's awesome except for the giant crow bursting out of their body. That's just kind of stupid. If it had just been a flock of crows descending to pick at the corpse after she tears out their eyes, that would have been far punchier.

whats scary is the fact that we have another killer that can zone you out of loops. again. for the 4th time now. yknow the thing that people hate going against?
0 -
I would say I agree, but she is far from the uncanny valley, she has too many things to set her apart. However, her ink hands are pretty scary upon second glance. Looks messed up, in a good way.

In terms of fantasy, I understand killers having some paranormal/supernatural powers, however, I do not find giant floating crow heads to be ANYTHING that looks remotely good in dead by daylight.
0 -
Horror is incredibly subjective. I find her creepy, but not "horrifying". I don't really find anything in this game horrifying.

I'm just sayin
Wrong thread. Damn this ip validation

I'd rank her as scarier than Legion, Ghostface, Twins, Trickster, Slinger, Huntress, and Pig.
