I don't think it's just the minority that needs to becareful its seriously dangerous for everyone and sad it happend through dvd

People are pathetic. This needs to be resolved, and soon. I hope said streamers are okay.
I can already see the apology bloodpoints.
16 -
It'd be a shame if the vulnerability was reported internally back in July and they just sat on their hands this entire time...
28 -
Was it?
0 -
Can't say how I know, but I've been told that it was.
5 -
Well, I certainly hope that isn't true.

Heard about the issue a while ago.
LGBT+ got attacked trough twitch as a whole.
But recently DbD Streamers got attacked with that (not just LGBT).
1 -
If you're a human being be careful, because the Developers certainly aren't.
12 -
careful or human?
5 -
yes
23 -
Behavior won't even warn people.
11 -
It's okay folks.
As long as people don't know about the issue, it doesn't exist. Out of sight, out of mind - that's our policy here.
See? We're very transparent when it comes to our policies.
15 -
The facts have been spoken.

I noticed that there was a Dev Message when I started the game up today... telling us there's only a few days before Stranger Things content leaves and advertising that we should spend money on it; nothing about any of this though.

Bhvr:" I can give 50k BP and a exclusive Charm with your adress on it. Take it or leave It" π
1 -
Here's your 10k to afford a toolbox with some add-ons. Have fun.

I think I will start using it even without streaming on Real game just in case.I never play test cuz I consider it wasting time but if its possible on test who can secure me they cant to a normal player on the real game.

Prepared to be banned?

Lmfao that would be epic lol

Sadly there's a lot of queerphobia and racism in gaming as a whole. Any game with a lead who isnt a cis white person is usually criticized harshly for even the smallest things. And this extends to irl too. Scummy people will try to push marginalized groups out of the gaming sphere through brute force due to their own prejudice.

DBD community is not toxic
0 -
honestly. I find this game 90-95% really inclusive, and 5% horrid.
1 -
I wouldn't say anywhere near 90% but DBD definitely has good acceptance overall as a community.
0 -
better than lots of other games, at least.
rock on, dude. (I mean that in a neutral sense, of course)
1 -
lmao thank you dw about pronouns with me though
0 -
no problem!
I just didn't want to assume. (also, I always say "dude" in a neutral sense, but I still like to specify)
1 -
Your typical DBD community being #########
1 -
The ones who does these attacks what they benefit from it? And what the most bad thing can happen to these streamers/players because of it?
I hope everyone is safe.

My brain honestly cannot comprehend someone getting THAT upset about a video game or about someone's gender identity, to actually engage in a practice that HAS killed people before.
I realize it's because I'm not wired that way and that's a good thing, but it literally fries my ######### mind when I try to imagine the thought process of these absolute butt hats (my insults would be far stronger but you know, censoring bad words is more important than giving us any reassurance that this is being really looked into)
Cheating was bad, DDoSing was worse, but this is now getting out of hand and while I doubt it would be verified if it turns out the rumor of foreknowledge is true, that's it for me. I've already stopped playing until I see some actual action taken, but if it turns out people knew and did nothing and this is the worst of the results of that nothing, yeah I'm done.
I'll reserve judgment for now because I try not to react to rumors without proof, but behavior isn't really doing much to allow players to give them the benefit of the doubt lately, and that's on them.
2 -
I hope they are ok, it makes me sad π
2 -
Yeah, this is the key here.
Nobody deserves to be doxed, harassed or threatened. People that do this are genuinely awful and should honestly be prosecuted far more aggressively than they are.
1 -
Also now all the non-cheating players are leaving, we are seeing even more and more hackers. More players also start hacking so we see hacking even more prevalent.
Honestly I thought the game was going to take the Deathgarden route, but the game being destroyed by hackers is just as amusing to watch.

Having been in a whole host of Twitch streams, tuning into some regularly for weeks at a time, there is a very obvious trend.
LGBT+ streams are plagued with homophobic trolls. Most deal with it well, don't give them any power, and they're usually big enough to have active mods who delete the comments instantly. But it's consistently there nonetheless, every day.
Non-LGBT streamers don't have this problem. They don't have to have mods quick on the trigger to shut down hate speech in a split second.
Similarly I've seen female streamers face or talk about harassment or how vulnerable they feel, say that they're unable to give their real name because of stalkers, etc.
So please, don't give us bullshit like "there's no racism, sexism or homophobia in gaming" it's not just a case of "trolls target everyone just to get a rise". Minorities are disproportionately targetted, and dismissing it because you don't see it or you don't want to acknowledge it helps no one and gives those people a free pass.
Yes it's not "just" gaming culture, but it is part of gaming culture. This is not "LGBT accusing gaming" of something, it's an uncomfortable truth you need to accept instead of doing mental gymnastics to dismiss and defect it.

Always be careful when talking to strangers as a general rule of thumb. I know it's good to find caring and thoughtful people on the internet but you should treat them all as strangers until you can fully trust them. Be especially wary if they ask personal questions
1 -
Oh no. A thread with βLGBTβ in the title derailed on the forums.
would have never expected that, never happened before either.
well. I am a little late but I love to see @ImmersedNurse @Seraphor @GoodBoyKaru (and others) are on it π
4 -
you see nothing, i am rock
4 -
Well. I certainly donβt see anything anymore.
And itβs a very cute rock!
4 -
It was good talking to you all, but it definitely went off the rails.
Again, I'm happy to have that discussion over on the Off Topic boards another time.

I would like to remind everyone to keep your comments towards one another civil and respectful, and please remember to keep the comments related to the topic of the thread. If you would like to discuss anything else further, please feel free to make a new thread on the topic you wish to continue. Thank you.

how did dbd become so popular really?
0 -
Not much they can do. Twitch already had a huge data leak a little while ago. The main leak everybody saw on the surface was just a bunch of twitch payout numbers. But the actual leak had everything. Personal Addresses, Phone Numbers, Credit card info, IP's, passwords, stream keys, Username logins, E-mails, etc. If you didn't secure your data then, especially as a twitch streamer with a following, you're likely well past due.
0 -
It's a shame that they deleted all of that stuff. I felt it was a very good conversation.
2 -
Agreed. I did get a message telling me to 'not invalidate people's experiences', so I'll refrain from this sort of discussion here in the future. If the mods were okay with it though, I'd be happy to do it on Off Topic, which may be a better location.

It looks like a baby Ludo from Labyrinth and I love it so much. π

I believe the scientific term is 'Burger Floof'.

This is a serious danger. They need to warn people
