Is this add-on supposed to be a joke?
I've just gone through Trickster's bloodweb, who I barely play, and I see this gem of an add-on:
Killing Part Chords: Increases movement speed while throwing Blades by 1%.
Is this a joke? Why are the numbers so safe? Brown add-ons can do more than barely anything, you know. I've seen a lot of bad browns but this one really gets to me. Is it really supposed to make that much of a difference? To me, it's insulting.
Imagine if there was a toolbox add-on for survivors that said "You repair 2% faster", and they were expected to use it. Survivors would be outraged, calling the game super killer sided.
Add-ons are add-ons. They're supposed to be impactful, to where you can actually tell that there's a difference. I don't see it with this add-on. There's no excuse to make such pathetically mediocre add-ons, and have them take up add-on slots, when you could do so much with add-ons to make the killer's power stronger or more interesting.

I don't think it's all that bad. Huntress has a similar yellow add on that increases it by 5%, but since trickster can down almost instantly if he can follow serve, his were nerfed to be less oppressive. Not to mention he already moves faster then huntress when using hatchets

It may sound small but it can come in clutch at certain scenarios. I think it’s hard to know if you’re getting value out of an add on like that anyway tbh.

No but the trickster suppose to be
2 -
He's still needs 12 (or is it 14?) blades to down instead of 2 shots.

Well yeah, but he can string knives together much better and can combo knives into m1 faster
2 -
Right, but Huntress has 5 ammunition, is 77% while charging an hatchet and goes in "cooldown" after every shot, while Trickster has 44 ammunition, is 96,5% while throwing and shoots full auto
Don't compare them, just don't, they're different powers
And 1% speed in DBD is not something to dismiss like ######### (remember, it's still a brown add on)

If it was 2% or 3%, it would matter a lot more. But 1%, you can't feel the difference.

By itself it can possibly be considered useless, but if you combine it with caged heart shoes, Trickster's base movement speed while holding knives becomes 4.0m/s which can help at certain loops.

Movement speed matters a lot in this game don't make small numbers fool you.
Just look how much 5% matters when comparing 110 killers and 115 killers

Movement speed is all relative in this game.
It's 96.5% to 97.5%, which is significantconsidering its the difference betwen that at the survivors 100% that's the issue.
Which means he's only 2.5% slower instead of 3.5% slower.
That's effectively a 30% buff.

It's a brown addon, and again, 1% might not be very noticeable, but it's still a nice difference in DBD

If u Think this is Bad the one Pinhead Pink Addon where the Aura of the Box is going to be revealed 4 both side but the chainhunt is removed when the Killer picks it up is talking to you

the reason it's so low is because, when combined with the yellow version, he gets a 3.5% boost, which adds up to 100% exactly. they didn't want his movement speed in the throw state exceeding 100% because that's how fast survivors move (99%, 100%, and 101% are all extremely important number values for movement speed), so keeping them low ensures that he cannot move faster than survivors. if you add 1% to this brown addon, it completely changes the value that you get out of them, which is kinda funny, but that's math.

It's a brown addon.
They are not supposed to be particularly impactful. In some cases, they are a straight up hinderance.
Honestly, a much bigger problem is killers who have purples/iris that amount to a direct nerf when equipped and are significantly worse than an empty slot.

Speaking of movespeed addons, this and deathslingers are so minuscule that it makes me wonder why they don't rework these addons into something else, maybe just one or even both because they're only this way due to updates/changes.
Or maybe they're happy with this design direction given how even Demo got his movespeed addon reduced.

The movement speed in the Throw state are one of the best Trickster addons. Trickster moves at 96,5%, if you add both the yellow and brown addons he goes up to 100%. Considering the survivor has to wiggle to dodge knives, you actually close distance while throwing with these addons.
The brown might not make a huge difference, but it's a brown addon. Using your comparison, there's a brown addon for toolboxes that lets survivors repair gens without skill checks.

This one I feel is one of the better ones. For brown addon for sure. It helps you a bit in something very usefull.

Meanwhile Plague has a broken (heh) brown addon that is fun and dramatically changes her gameplay dynamic for both killer and survivor.

nurse and myers having best brown addons

I agree. Alot of the perks and add-ons have such miniscule benefits it almost seems like a joke. 1% to 2% bonuses. It's like wow who cares?

I'd like to clarify that that's not how the game does movement speeds either, it uses multipliers for the most part.
As an example:
A killer's base speed is always x1. Movement speed modifiers are added to that multiplier. Say you get a speed boost of 10%, the calculation the game does is 1+0.1, resulting in a multiplier of x1.1.
For a 4.6m/s killer, that would be 4.6 * 1.1 = 5.06m/s.
There are next to no exceptions to this. The only one I know off the of my head is Feral Frenzy, which adds 0.6m/s to the Legion's base speed and the Bloodlust mechanic, but that's pretty much it.
You can look at this wiki page for further information, the wiki people have calculated all the modifiers: deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Movement_Speeds

Stack it with caged heart shoes.
