Are a lot of us bored now?
Share your thoughts. I do believe it is good for us to be vocal without insulting the devs please. I myself have been VERY burnt on this game as of lately.

Bored as hell.
Killer is impossible.
Survivor is too easy.
SBMM and boons ruined this game.
Queue times are extremely long as a survivor.
Matchmaking is sometimes a broken mess, matching 50 hours survivors with 3k hours one... crazy.
And BHVR devs seem happy about it while everything i see is complaints everywhere, here, on reddit and in my friendlist.

Killer isn't fun anymore for me. Survivor is fine though. For now at least.

I have 500 hours in DBD now and I'm also in my burnt out phase. In my first 50 hours, I was obsessed and played countless matches a day as only the free killers and survivor. Then, at around 60 hours, I realised "woah! there's like 50 unique characters i haven't even unlocked!". The fact that the game had enough free content to keep me hooked for 50 hours made me very excited to start buying stuff and see how big the game truly is.
I spent the rest of my time buying a chapter, playing the sh*t out of its characters for 30 hours, then buying another chapter, rinse and repeat. This got me to 450 hours, and at this point (a little before the Hellraiser chapter) I got bored and took a break for a week or two. When Pinhead came out, I had a total blast with him. 40 hours just playing him and mastering him. Then, burnt out again - second break.
I'm still on that break, it's been over a month now. I plan on playing DBD again when the new chapter comes out, the killer looks very fun so I'm going to play her a ton like I did with Pinhead, then stop and wait until the next chapter arrives.
DBD's gameplay has become stale so I only have fun whenever there's new content now.

Trust me I understand the frustration. I just want the devs to see this and be like...yea lets do something about this! It is with great hope anyway. I do love this game :/ but lately it is just a pain to play.

I did get bored around the year 2017 and only came back because I heard about the RE chapter being in the game. So basically it took me a 4 year hiatus to get back to it haha

I basically stopped playing when the event was over. Made it to iri survivor pretty easily, but I didn't even bother to get even gold as killer, I think I'm at silver 2. Its simply just not fun. Its too easy to get high MMR as a killer and then you are just stuck getting sweated on.
People say 'play how you want' well just playing normally usually 4Ks because teams easily unravel because of one weak link. And then you are stuck just sitting in place, waiting for your MMR to tank several matches in a row. Let alone the absolutely terrible and wretched idea they had of making sure even killers you don't play get your high MMR so you don't even have the luxury of switching to a different killer to practice in a less punishing environment.
I'll probably come back the 30th to check out that new scourge hook + pop and the new killer for a bit

mmr is making the game pretty ######### boring so I'm playing something else

I started mid 2018 and left a little after legion and didn't come back tell the last month of RE. This game gets like that and they don't care

I just got back from a hiatus (I was burnt out then, refreshed now), so I'm not particularly bored, but I let survivors go very often and so I haven't dashed my head against the rocks of MMR hell. Even then, I have a ton of issues with MMR and vastly preferred the old system; it's made being friendly and playing against people your skill level mutually exclusive and I have to ping-pong between playing the way I want to and playing aggressively just so I don't get matched against wet-behind-the-ears newbies. I really don't like that I have to deviate from how I want to play in order to keep my matches relatively fair. But it helps that I'm not especially competitive unless somebody else initiates the mood.
MMR for survivors is even worse, and makes SWFing even more mandatory than before; you're fine in solo as long as your MMR is above average, even better off than you were before, but you're punished for playing altruistically and sacrificing yourself to save your team, there is zero recognition for playing well or badly in a match to fall back on, and low MMR as a survivor is a quicksand pit where you get matched with potato teammates and die if you can't pick up the entirety of their slack (possible if it's just one potato, absolutely screwed if it's all three.)
I have a love-hate relationship with recent balance changes, leaning towards hate - Plague buffs delightful, key nerf good if a little overnerfed, Spirit nerf good but didn't go far enough, Trapper buff good, Deathslinger nerf bad, Wraith nerf bad, Cenobite nerf bad, Nurse buff minor but still bad, and boons are just a massive mess right now that need to either be less impactful in effect or give the killer more agency to permanently remove them beyond guessing which survivor has the perk and tunneling them out. Something to stop a totem from going back up in the same spot the instant you leave the area. Right now, CoH completely destroys hit and run killers, and while Shadow Step is on the whole less impactful, it's absolutely ruinous on indoor maps or corn maps. Mainly I don't like boons because killers don't have the spare time to handle another objective. They're more of a routine chore than something engaging. Snuffing them doesn't feel meaningful.
Pentimento saddens me because it would have been a really cool perk two months ago, but in the boon meta, it's dead on arrival. Scourge hooks have the potential to be a neat new class of gamble-type killer perks, though, and I like that.
And I'm extremely unhappy with the radio silence on the current client-side data leaks. That's just not acceptable and BHVR really needs to step up its community responsiveness. Less cute Twitter posts, more substance.
That's more or less my thoughts on the game right now.

Some of you people play the same game for years without breaks so I can't tell how you operate or what "boring" means to you.
I can't play the same game that long. Even if it is too good it gets boring after a while and I never get back to it.
I am surprised I get back to dbd. The only game I don't stop playing forever.
I wouldn't say it is my favorite game but I like to play it from time to time or watch others play.

Constantly bored. My friend and I play survivor together, and we have to make it fun, which means memeing and doing dumb stuff. Playing for real is usually at best boring and at worst miserable; we're better off dying in a funny way than working towards escaping. I was having fun with boon totems for a while, but I dunno, I don't feel like setting that crap up just for my teammates to run over and then get it seen by the killer or waste time flashlight-clicking at me instead of self-healing while I work on a gen two feet away from the boon.

I'm doing multiple group projects in my final year of uni on my own, while my group members pretend they don't exist.
I'm more stressed than bored - hence my constant desire to make jokes.

im tired of boons, all my matches my Ruin has been destroyed in less than a minute, but i have to deal with boons every 20 seconds.
i can't apply pressure, survivors keep healing faster than i hit them...
and gens keep regressing much much much slower than they progress...
i keep thiking they should reverse how totems work, and make killers able to destroy totems, and survivors only able to snuff them, so killers really can counter boons, while not really need to keep useless dull totems who survivors are going to abuse.
And the new Hex: Pentimento, should make killers able to re-Hex lossed Hexes, instead of what it actually does....
Survivors are going to just boon them...

I'm getting burned out too so I played less this weekend.

I would just rather not play rn because of the doxing issue. I upset a lot of people on a regular basis and would rather not get swatted.
I have been enjoying left 4 dead 2 and team fortress 2 tho.

SBMM has definitely made matchmaking a mess. The fact that it revolves around nothing more than kills and escapes is not an adequate representation of skill, so people are constantly being teamed up and pitted against people they have no business playing with. Not to mention playing as survivor imo is just boring. Hold a button to work on a generator, hold a button to cleanse a totem, hold a button to heal, etc. I'd much rather be playing killer, but the continued nerfs have made it rather painful.

Seems not I saw there was 60k playing today

Darkest dungeon and their dlcs were super cheap maybe 12 e all the game plus DLC best trade ever.
1 -
My playtime dropped significantly over the last few months.
I don't care about maxing out the new killer and survivor or try too hard to finish the new rift anymore.
The game is still too stale,no interesting events and not enough much needed balance changes.
It's unfortunate, but not too bad.I'll just continue to play other games or watch some series

Killer is really difficult, Survivor is really easy, balancing has only gotten worse, Long Queue Times, Same Maps over and over again despite other maps existing, A large amount of killers aren't being played anymore, Console optimization is still bad, Boons, Tunneling, Camping, Gen Rushing, T-bagging, Clicking, Map offerings, Nobody brings any non meta perks, I CONSTANTLY see Dead Hard, Stretched Res, A surge in Cheaters, the Mid-Chapter update didn't really bring anything new cause nobody uses Trapper at a higher MMR and I don't see anyone using the changed perks.
There just isn't anything to be happy about recently. Hopefully the next chapter is good. And not bug filled and poorly optimized.

even solo survivor is super easy with boons. i do not understand how could you create such overpowered mechanic and think "yep, that's balanced" and now they have to collect months of data to take action and change it. Just play your game devs. A little

I am talking to my fellow vets. Of course when newer players come in, they wont be bothered lol

Bored because they made killer extremely unfun, but survivor is boring as there is little to it.

I mean, I have lots of fun, but I realized in the day off I've taken waiting for the ddossing to die down that too much horror stops being scary.
I think a break will refresh you basically no, matter what it is you're taking a break from.

Man this! ^ agreed!

I feel like a broken record saying how boring the game is.
I'm a bit refreshed after not being able to play for 2 weeks and playing other games (R&C Rift Apart) but I would still like to have a different multiplayer game to play. No multiplayer games have been good enough to keep my attention for longer than a week, for the past few years.
Just remaster Black Ops 1 plz..

Bored? No, I am not.
It was not boredom that made me quit the game and it never would've been.

Im having a great time.

virtue signaller (plural virtue signallers) (neologism) Somebody who engages in virtue signalling.
I swear to ######### god.

I'm not bored playing the game. The matches tend to have annoyances though, I would say. The game can be frustrating with bugs and unnecessary changes at times.
0 -
Not bored, I'm tired/exasperated.
Performance issues that constantly impact gameplay and go as far as to break the game entirely. Only slight fixes being implemented if at all.
Bugs that just keep coming back like totems being uncleansable on maps. They'll take months to fix one only for another to appear. Would think they'd run tests specifically for totem spawns since it happens most updates.
SBMM just being terrible. No longer getting decent random teammates that atleast try to work together but instead ones that hide/try to get teammates killed so they can escape. As killer can't even mess around/have fun with survivors anymore when I've never taken killer seriously.
Hackers not making me feel safe to play, especially with people getting DDoS'd.
Just tired/exasperated from it all and BHVR's lack of communication/action.
1 -
Yeah. I've just kinda given up every game today, even as Nurse. She's miserable to play without fatigue reduction addons and every other Killer is lame, slow and neutered. Survivors always get what they want and Killers nerfed into oblivion, which sucks all the fun out of the game. Literally not one Killer doesn't have some insane drawback that makes using their power actually a detriment.

Wondering if you agree, or if you are just trying to be clever. Can't decide

I tried to look up virtue signaller becuase I didnt know what it meant and thats the definition I got.
I hate it when people use the word they are defining in the definition

Ahhhhh got it;).

Not bored. Tired. I'm tired of inaction on the hacker situation. Tired of the glacial pace of rebalancing.
3 -
Yea ive seen my share of those people

Not bored, but I'm not playing because I'm capped out again and just waiting for the DLC to drop.. and also backlogged on a bunch of other games I recently bought.

Breaks or not, its more like 5 years of the exact same gameplay with no updates from the devs (i mean do gens and loop, chase and down, kill or escape)
No new ressources, gameplay, gamemodes or whatever where added (breakable walls dont count, thzy dont change the gameplay)
1 -
Everything you said is spot on

I'm not bored I've been just doing dailies
Not really trying... but be that as it may... I am burnt out of this game at times
