The mere possibility of getting RPD makes me not want to play at all

It's from 2019. Not PS1. But it fits perfectly with in DBD's story and it's mainly for those people who like RE. Some have made the excuse that no other maps besides Midwich and RPD are accurate and that is because those are movie licenses. We can't see the full map. Some make the excuse that it doesn't fit in it's gameplay. Well some seem to flip flop and say "Well it fits with DBD lore" but when it's something they don't like then it doesn't apparently. A lot of excuses but we all know why it's accurate but it isn't a big deal. It's 1 map tnat you will barely see much, it fits with DBD's story, is actually really cool, and is the best fitting RE map you could've chosen. Many other RE maps would be RPD on steroids or some would be the opposite. So small that survivors would loose every game.

Did they overhaul the map layout between the original release and the 2019 remake? I'm not familiar with it because the abysmal tank controls in early RE games always turned me off.

And honestly, I don't know why its story fitting has any bearing on the gameplay? Like, these aren't things that are in question about it? It's huge, the connections are obtuse, the map hasn't been adjusted well for the game it's now in (and the M1/ranged killers have a bad time, half the mobility killers don't have it because it's so enclosed, etc.) Incorporating it as-is for an RE homage doesn't change its gameplay role, it's just a novelty.

I still find it funny that the last survey there were 2 versions and the RPD questions were only on one version not both. It's like they were hoping the less people to get that version of the survey the better results they'd get for RPD.

RPD is one of Nurse's best maps lmao what? Just bring an offering that's not RPD and your problem is solved.

RPD is one of sixteen maps. Its hardly game destroying to wind up there. There are a couple of maps that I'm not a huge fan of but you just play it out and move on.

If the thought is that horrible then burn an offering. But even without it the odds are in your favour that you ain't gonna see it.

Wouldnt let one map chase you away, if you load into RPD and dont want to play it just go stand in a corner and gens will fly. Game will be over in 5mins.

I would rather play Haddonfield every game while a cat claws at my balls then play RPD......If it's not obvious....I don't like it and never will.

Why do killers and survivors hate this map? I love it ! It’s a beautiful map and I love the layout. It’s not difficult to manipulate and I can only see it being hard to play as nurse, billy, or blight. I love it as survivor or killer. Just a beautiful map. Never understand why killers disconnect or survivors kill themselves on first hook.

The shear size of the map the amount of god pallets that force the killer to break to continue the chase and only a select few killers actually can be used on the map.

Personally I just protect a select few Gens usually the ones that spawn in the lobby and waiting room to try and force a 3 gen. If it seems like ill lose the match (9 times out of 10 I do) I just mess around with the survivors.

Well what do you think people that the DLC is meant for would prefer? You can't adjust it much to fit it in DBD. It'd have to basically not be the RPD at all. This is the best that can be done. Trust me, it could be way more accurate than it is. Imagine if the map had many many less paths. Entire hallways only having 1 way down with halls blocked everywhere. It's this or that. They did the best they could. Not many other things you can do with it.

Okay, who gives a damn what the people the DLC is meant for prefer? The map isn't part of the DLC. Everyone has to put up with it at all times.

Keeping the minority of people who like RE and can appreciate seeing an accurate RE map every time it shows up happy isn't a fair trade for giving the rest of the players a map that's badly designed for the game.

It's 1 map. It's for RE people. Ya know, because it's an RE collaboration?

It's 1 map. For everyone. Because it's in the game.

Why does "it makes RE people slightly happier because of its fidelity" mean everyone gets a bad map?

It is not a bad map. It's just a unique map for DBD. If I can do well on it others can to. And no that's not to toot my own horn. I'm just saying it can be played on just fine once learned.

"I can do well on it" does not mean that it's not bad. There are people who do well on Haddonfield, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exhibit a lot of things that make it badly designed and balanced. I'm sure there's people who do well on Red Forest with low mobility killers, but that doesn't make it better or reduce the problems that come with having so much size.

It's bad because it's huge (because of its layout, it takes as long to walk across as Red Forest and that's only one floor), multi-level, tightly-enclosed with lots of walls, full of strong loops, and has completely random pallets. The reasons RCPD is bad don't go away if you can do well on it, nor the parts that make it particularly imbalanced with killers who find half their abilities negated by the constant walls (and then don't have the mobility to get across this thing).

And boon totems right now just make anything with two floors like that particularly obnoxious.

Luckily I have only played the RPD map once (and yes it was a (Bad Word)show)
