Breakable walls rework proposal
It's a very simple change that would make them work more dynamically during chase. Currently they're very gimmicky and only hamper the flow of the match. For killers you have to basically break a bunch of pre-dropped pallets. And for survivor you have loops that aren't safe anymore because the killer got there first. There's really no interaction with breakables outside of having an indefinite god loop (some maps excluded).
I get the idea behind it. It's a horror trope to have the bad guy walk through doors or walls. But the implementation of them doesn't resonate that same feeling. It's very detrimental to break a wall during chase as killer because of the distance it gives survivors. But it doesn't have to be that way.
My proposal:
Instead of just being able to only do a break action, the killer can now break the wall in 2 swings. The killer will do a weapon wipe or similar to balance out the time investment. This allows for more freedom with walls as now you can bait survivors into looping what they think is a safe loop. It let's killers set up a bit without taking up too much time and rewards them. It gives us a choice of "do I want to just get rid of the wall or should I try to make a play around it?".
Now I think that there should be a visual effect on a half broken wall so attentive survivors can prepare slightly for what may happen next. And, even though I'm personally not a fan of it, rebuilding breakables could be a possibility. I don't think that survivors should be able to fully repair a wall but build it back up to half durability. As long as there's a limit to how many times you can rebuild a wall, it could shake up dbd for the better. Especially since BHVR doesn't seem to fancy the idea of getting rid of the walls.
Anyways let me know if there's anything I possibly overlooked in this post or if you have any cool ideas.

How about they just fix their map.

I dont have much to add but why where breakabke walls implemented into the game, if it was to hinder survivors i'd say its failed massively. Hinders killers more going round breaking them.

If the first hit makes it into a vault, and the Second hit destroys it completely, that could be fun to experiment with.
But otherwise you'd have to go out of your way to hit the doors outside of a chase to use them later. Which is still what I think is the general problem with Breakable Walls: It's good to kick them out of the way at the start if they otherwise allow really safe loops.
