Do you REALLY play Solo Queue? I do....
....And I find that it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be - Approx 60% Escape Rate
I never get facecamped multiple games in a row, have 10+ game losing streaks, get bodied by NOED, etc.
Certain challenges (mainly Glyph + Escape and Survive + have X people Escape) can lead to ME throwing the game to try and get them, but most of the time I lose, it's my own fault.
I honestly feel like the constant exaggeration of certain issues makes it way harder for the devs to implement actual/meanwhile fixes.
Current Builds for anyone interested...I hardly ever bring items
WOO/Dead Hard/SC/BK
SW/WMI/Lithe/WGLF
QQ/HO/Detective's Hunch/Inner Strength

Live forever, Botany, Leader, Kindred serves me well and I earn really good bp as a survivor. Sure I get killed more but I pip, earn bp, and I help the team.

I enjoy Solo and I agree it's not even close to as bad as people say it is. My escape rate is currently around 70-80%
5 -
I actually slept on Alert for a long time until someone here told me that it works w/ any pallet break and not just the 'Break' action - I don't personally use it, but I respect the utility vs Bubba/Blight/Demo/Billy/Oni/Legion (Iri)

That's awesome!
I feel like I'd be a bit higher, but Tomies before the Homies.

I agree, solo isn't nearly as bad as people think.
I tend to bring Kindred and Borrowed Time as standard, but the other two change all the time, or as needed for challenges. Usually don't even run an exhaust perk, and if I do, it's Head On.
1 -
Oh, I play very selfish at times, particularly if escape is within reach.
Sometimes I'm very altruistic though (Second Wind build).
0 -
I'm still tethered to Exhaustion perks :(
I think with the buff to WOO, though, it's not too hard to chain tiles without one.

Idk whatever mmr I'm in but usually I escape like 2/10 matches...
And even though I think I'm definitely in low mmr, this week I played against a supposed 13th Nurse in the world by claims on his stream...
So idk what's going on with mmr... I lost so much yet the quality of killers are way better than my average Solo Q team.. and I mean, literally people urban evading all the map
3 -
I've only seen that (Urban Evasion all game) a few times in several years.
I don't doubt it, though - I was literally running around a map earlier today for the full duration trying to find a Glyph....Got all my teammates killed, found the Glyph, and Killer gave me Hatch because they probably thought I was Day 1 :P

You don’t play in Eastern Europe where 100% are campers
0 -
I actually do play in EU on occasion and do pretty good despite the 130-150 ping.

I don’t want to be blocked, but so many people know what I’m saying
0 -
Why would you be blocked?

Recently abandoned killer to play survivor more. Solo. Its so easy it's great. Pallets, Boons, weak killers and sweet perks. Even solo I'm loving giving killers the runaround
2 -
I started off as Killer only way back when - It really helps with playing Survivor, imo
2 -
I like it but the downside is you can’t see the killers aura when they’re undetectable.

From the day I started playing DBD, back in 2018, until I left the Fog earlier this year, most of my Survivor experience was solo.
And yes, I reached the same conclusion...
It is not nearly as bad as most people say.
My build was usually something along the lines of Self-Care / Sprint Burst / Iron Will and Borrowed Time.

I say it all the time, solo que is where you'll find the hardcore survivor, the best of the best. The survivor who fears nothing, the survivor who loves a challenge. Absolute legends every single one of you.
Swfs is where you'll find the kids, the average gamer who needs help, the type of person who plays campaign modes on other games in easy mode. The lazy gamer, the type that needs meta perks for an already free out.
Soloists, i applaud and salute you. Without you DBD wouldnt be where it is today.

I agree it’s not too bad once you get up to a high enough MMR and your teammates aren’t all trash 100% of the time

I do, and it's a ######### hellscape. After a few games it makes me so genuinely infuriated that I just stop playing the game for the day. Killer is by far so much more enjoyable than solo to me; I absolutely cannot stand it.
9 -
I basically only play solo queue and be vastly exaggerate how bad it is. It's not that bad at all. Even in solo queue I'm still the power role.
1 -
Like, just to use the game I just had as an example. Entirely solo.
- Queue for 20 minutes to get into a lobby.
- Get dodged by killers for another 10.
- First game loads in, killer disconnects in loading screen because... I guess Bloody Party Streamers (only offering) are scary?
- Back to the queue for another 20 minutes.
- Finally find a game that loads in. RPD.
- Black ward double range ruin undying tinkerer infectious Nurse
- I last the longest in chase, die on first hook because nobody saves
Like yes, what a fun engaging and enjoyable experience that leaves me thrilled to play more!
And people ask why I like killer more
edit: for a bit of perspective as to how long this game was for me, i didn't even finish the song i was listening to, sub 4 minutes.

Most of the complaining on this forum is exaggeration. Hysteria. Hyperbole. It's hard to take much of it seriously. Hard to separate all the BS posts from the ones with legitimate gripes.
1 -
I prefer solo because people do poorly and then blame you because they aren't successful. And like, panic/get angry when you don't do what they want you to. I'd rather just play without hearing others. Plus I think people talking is more of a distraction than an aid. ADHD brain here.

Solo Q is almost always a slaughterhouse. I genuinely play survivor expecting to lose and if the gates are opened it is a celebration. Killers need nerfed so solo Q is winnable and fair game mode.
2 -
I play a lot of solo (my friends rarely play) and it's miserable most of the time. Face camping, tunneling, useless teammates and trolls make it very unfun. Wish I had your games 😆
4 -
No, cross-play on, EU late at night usually because I literally can't play any other time (late at night meaning, gone midnight)
0 -
I only play solo and they are so many more campers than what others are saying. I played about 20 matches today, about 70% did some hard core camping.
1 -
Same here. I only play solo. Sooo bad sometimes.
0 -
Since SBMM solo queue is a breeze. My win rate (3/4 escapes) went from ~40% to 70%.
0 -
You have to admit though, solo queue when its late is AWFUL! Queues are 10~ mins and you can usually tell just from what the survivors are wearing that it is going to be a terrible experience. After a bad game or 2 late at night when solo queuing, if I have the audacity to search for another game and the survivors are wearing default(ish) clothing, I'm done for the day.
3 -
*nods in Al Gore*
2 -
My survivor queues are like 2-3 minutes most times, max.

I play solo a lot, the killers i get don't bother me that much the problem is with my teammates.
3 -
Well lucky you. Tragically not all of us are this fortunate.
Edit: sorry for the aggression I'm just so tired of solo currently
1 -
what perks are those?
0 -
i would say if you dont play good you will matched mostly with survivor who also dont play good.but i dont even know what is considered good in this game
0 -
Yeah, this.
I play survivor at what's probably a pretty embarrassing MMR. I mostly play killer.
On my survivor 'chill' games, I've never seen the killer facecamp someone out unless they've BMed them or it's endgame and they haven't got a kill.
I've also never facecamped anyone outside of the above reasons, back when I was brand new/playing Bubba excepted.
What I do see a lot of is AFK survivors, suiciding survivors and DCing survivors.
When I play killer, I'll usually ease up if the enemy is having a rough game and at least let them get some BP. Because we are all playing a game together, ostensibly to have fun. I'll do the same for killer if they are struggling. I wish more survivors would.
Sigh. Hi, Sluzzy.
You know, if you really wanted to throw people off, you'd do a thread on how you'd improve the experience for killers. That'd fox 'em for sure.
Yep. Tonight has not been a good night.
Here's my evening thus far:
Game 1: 3man SWF. Offering for RPD. I get skunked and teabagged from the exit gates until I chase them out.
Game 2: Okay game. 2-out, let two people go because the first survivor I picked up DCed.
Game 3: 4man SWF. Offering for Haddonfield. They get the good window spawn on the basement house infinite and hug it every time I chase. I get skunked.
Game 4: Swamp. First person I hook DCs. Two more DC immediately after. The other one plays hide-and-seek until I physically carry them to Hatch.
Game 5: DDS. Someone DCs the second they load in. Next guy suicides on hook. I'm sick of it, want to get to the next game so I wipe the other two out. Get yelled at in postgame.
Game 6: DDS again. Someone crawls away and I can't find them, not realizing they are Broken. They DC. I give the last chap hatch. I get yelled at in postgame for 'slugging'.
Let's see how Game 7 goes.

Yep... Its definitely worse at night. I usually just exit the game after a couple of matches.

It depends on the players view of what counts as a win, pretty sure a lot of players here will boast about having an 80% escape rate, they say that even when they solo escape and most of the times the other survivors get slaughtered. (By those standards I can boast about having an 80% escape rate too) But by killer standards a win only counts when at least 3 survivors escape, I'd say at least 50% of my matches end up in a draw (2 escapes) and very rarely a win (3-4 escapes) about 20%, for me solo queue is a nigtmare that most of the times ends up being a draw game and me not being able to say that I can consistently win my matches most of the times.

Everyone's experience is going to be different, the reason you might think it is exxagerated is because it happens to multiple people. Yeah it might not be back-to-back, but on the broader spectrum it becomes more common than not.
2 -
I don't find it that bad do I get tunneled and facecamped sure it happens ever once and a while but its rare if it happens two games in a row. Now survivors i have a problem unhook right in front of the killer and no body block cool, ran the killer for 3-4 gens and got hooked they will just stay half way across the map tell I hit second then bring the killer with them to me. I find that I get more mad at my teammates then the killer because they just troll.
I normally run kindred,DH,WGLF, currently CoH

Survivor Ques take like 5 minutes at night, and during the day like 2 minutes. But my solo Q matches are pretty much the same before this MMR system got enacted. Half of my matches I get placed with mindless teammates. And the other half with more or less, survivors who actually have a functioning brain. But I genuinely am not interested in having a need to escape each round, so I don't get mad at not escaping. But that explains why my teammates make simple mistakes often, since I'm at a casual MMR in the survivor side, since I don't escape often believe it or not. But what frustrates me about solo Q is the simple mistakes, I'm not expecting a sweat squad. Just a team that has people who actually can think. Because after playing for 1000+ hours, I even to this day still get shocked at the plays some survivors make. So as others have said it's not really the killers, it's really the mindless solo Q teammates. Sure at high MMR solo Q survivors perform better, but I'm not putting the effort to get to high MMR in solo Q LMAO. Now on the killer side, it's the complete opposite 😂. It's super easy to get to high MMR all you have to do is get 4 sacrifices for like 5 matches and boom. Next thing I know I'm getting placed vs. sweat squads, which is not my cup of tea since I'm not playing to sweat.

I pretty much only play solo, you do get some really bad matches but overall I really enjoy it. My escape rate is probably only around 40% but it would be higher if I played less altruistic and sloppy, and if rage babies would stop killing themselves on hook. I think that solo overlaps with killer in the way the opposing side can make matches feel unwinnable with perks, addons and and map offerings. Unless you get lucky with amazing teammates it can be brutal against certain killers if they stack everything in their favor, even mid tier killers. I think a lot of killer mains seem to forget about this.

I don't sweat as survivor either, I just try to have fun.

Seeing the attitudes/posts of some 'solo queuers' as of late and their unwillingness to take sincere suggestions/critiques kind of leads me to believe that the game is definitely not entirely to blame for their perceived predicaments.
1 -
what would that mean for SWF?
0 -
Forum posts don't indicate how someone plays.
2 -
I run Shadow Step, Circle of Healing, Prove Thyself and Windows of Opportunity. Even though I'm playin solo I still want to be able to help my team. If anything, I swap SS and CoH for Spine Chill and Blast Mine. I also tend to have pretty decent escape rates, but my MMR definitely isn't that high so that could be why.
