Did I miss a memo, or did booping the snoot always mean getting camped to death?
thanks, asking for myself.
Edit: I'd like to clarify that I don't feel any player should feel obligated to leave me alone or start farming, I was just wondering if the meaning of the action had changed, or if I'd somehow made this player incredibly angry.

As someone who plays Pig heavily, I respect that people don't acknowledge Booping when playing the Pig -- it's a personal choice. When I play survivor and run across a Pig, I won't attempt a Boop unless the Pig does something to imply that they're open to it. If a Pig wants to play all-out and isn't interested in Boops, I don't get upset by it (not implying the OP shouldn't have been upset by being tunneled and camped -- I would be aggravated for the same).
When I play Pig, I completely go in for getting Booped. I play enough matches against sweaty players/teams that it's nice to have that occasional match where I don't have to play like that it return. I've had some hilarious moments of teams that decided to meme with me. Again, I don't expect anyone else playing Pig to do the same -- it's my own decision when I'm playing her.
What I DON'T appreciate, however, is the "fake" Booping, from either end. I had a Pig who looked to be accepting of a Boop at the end of a match when I was the last survivor left -- then not only downed me after the Boop, but left me on the ground growling at me and let me bleed out, which I thought was completely classless (no one -- definitely not me -- had done anything "toxic" to them during the match, and they could have just easily hooked me to end the match, but decided to waste both our times for whatever reason). On the opposite end, playing Pig, I had a Feng fake Boop me (they crouched and approached as if they wanted to Boop) -- then they dropped a pallet on my head (and may have teabagged me in return as well, IIRC). That Feng's death on a hook (and the rest of her SWF team) was awfully, awfully satisfying, lol. 😄

Booping the snoot is an old meme that lots of newer players don't know about. Don't take it personally, chances are they would have camped anyways.

Nope, it's just that some Piggies don't care about the boop. I've had bad luck on that front lately as well.
Running into a Pig in the wild tends to yield either a total memelord or an absolutely ruthless, nasty player - Pig has pretty above-average options when it comes to removing a player from the game and some people play her for that part of her kit specifically. You boop for the first, but sometimes the snoots you reach out to are not friendly. Boop with caution.

I mean, I ask because while I was on hook, they did the "rr r rrrrrrr" thing.
they didn't even hat me...

Don't fall for the meme
It's a forced and imo not funny meme that people use to claim pig players are wholesome and not toxic
The opposite is true.

There are agressive piggies. Even tho you boop them it does not mean they have to let you go but some do

well, I didn't mean to sound entitled.
farming games are boring.
I just thought it was odd I got facecamped to death and tunnelled after being visibly friendly.
2 -
I assume they probably did not understand the meaning of it or he was sweating

If that pig is a toxic survivor main, then you don't have to be surprised.

New players likely are unaware of the boop. I was very confused when I first experienced it.

there are good pigs and then there are bad pigs
Strive to be the BEST pig 🐷

It's the player behind the Killer not the Killer themselves

I strive to be the best worst Pig. I chased someone for 5 gens until they died to end game collapse. Pretty swag. Their homies even left so they could get hatch, but with my skill, it spawned far away from them.

As a pig main, I unfortunately can confirm.
I always play along if someone boops, but more often than not when I go against a pig they just tunnel you with the trap on your head or block the last box.
2 -
I don't actively camp/tunnel a Survivor who boops my snoot, but I have zero qualms about downing them immediately. You are not entitled to walk away because you thought I wasn't interested in trying to play seriously.
That said, I do get a certain amount of enjoyment out of pretending not to know what booping the snoot means in post-game chat.

of course, I wouldn't want a free pass, just to not be camped to death.

The meme died, was buried, was dug up, buried again and finally stuffed and mounted.
It's one of the most annoying parts of playing Pig.
People will meme and expect you to let them get a free win. Every single game.
If you don't, you'll be cussed out in the lobby.
I think a lot of Pig players are a bit fed up with it now. If you do the meme on like 2 people left and 3 gens up, I'll probably let you go. Otherwise, it really depends on my mood.

I don't really mind that they weren't friendly, just that I got super tunneled and camped.
meh, it was my own fault for going down the first time.

Yeah, Pig, Wraith and other 'attrition' based killers have been struggling recently, as the meta (and balance) seems to have left them behind.
Right now, the only way to really approach these killers seems to be to go in ultra sweaty from the start and eliminate 1 person as fast as possible. Pigs entire kit feels very much geared to this due to her traps.
It's unfortunate, but sadly that's how the game feels like it's supposed to play out right now.

Yeah, personally I don’t care about Booping the Snoot. 🤷♂️

What about piggy back rides? Certainly that's got to be a meme too then (( carrying a survivor around all over the map for the lulz ))
1 -
A lot of Pig players get irritated by it because they just want to play a match but there is a significant amount of survivors who think that booping the snoot=now the Pig player goes docile and everyone has fun. Which isn't what killer players generally want.
3 -
right.
did you see my edit?
I don't want or like farming games. I'm just wondering if the meaning has changed.

If you’re on hook and they do that, that’s them being toxic. You can’t boop on hook. You kind of have to “read the room” to see if it’s a boop the snoot scenario. Like two of your teammates DC’ng & you have 4-5 gens left, or you haven’t seen the killer for 8 mins with no one hooked or injured, and pig crawls up to you snarling. But even then, nothing is guaranteed.
2 -
that's fair.

I don't know what you're talking about. What is "boop the snoot?"
3 -
Before SBMM I used to boop or die trying. More often than not I would be camp/tunneled out because way more pig's don't like it. 😂
The pig's that do allow you to boop will give you a chance to get one or two boops in but then play normal. It's not many that reward boops with farms/letting you live.

Idk but from what I heard console pigs do not fall for boops.
I tested it and found out they are out for blood. lol

All in all it's up to each individual player as far as what happens before or after a boop. So just remember you're always taking a chance because it's more or less a game of chicken and faith altogether

I stopped playing pig because not only shes a weak M1 killer with no chase potential, but also no survivor respects you, even go out of their way to crouch and point at you to be extra rude.

And when you don't play along with their bizarre expectations:

Since figuring out the boops, I totally let survivors do boops. I think it mostly has to do with pigs not knowing about boops. The first time I experienced the boop, I was very confused why the survivors ran up to me, crouched before me in unison look I was some sort of cult deity as they left me offerings of medpacks and flashlights, then proceeded to creepily stare at me and take turns poking me...

Depends on the player its a 50/50, i think it's kinda lame.

I play Piggie every so often, it kinda gets annoying when people aggressively try to do it when I just want a normal game. No camps or intentional tunneling but damn does it get annoying.
