Will changing the icons lead to a ban or something like that? And lags or cracks if any?

That's what EAC is. You won't be actively pursued but if something to do with EAC changes and it then bans you then BHVR will not lift the ban. You'd have to appeal direct to EAC

Never heard of it happening to anyone who changes the icons so you should be fine, but there is always that possibility.
