Is autoswinging farming as killer bannable?
just today alone i’ve gone up against 3 killers that just stand still swinging the whole game (most likely macro or auto clicker) and i’m wondering if this is still bannable.

I've never heard, even anecdotally, of anyone being banned for AFKing - which is what this amounts to.
It...probably should be. But I think there are bigger priorities right now (getting rid of all the damned hackers, for a start).
If it's what I think it is, it's a script that auto-queues, stands still while 'attacking' (allowing survivors to also get some BP while earning more BP) and when Johnny Macros wakes up in the morning, he has 1m BP and a freshly smurfed killer.

hmm an auto script/macro that would be really easy to write
OR
a kiiller player is hitting m1 nonstop for x seconds without stopping once the entire game and also not moving at all either

My general opinion is if they can't be bothered to ban prolific hackers who are semi famous for the length they have been hacking, then they likely are not going to be bothered to ban someone over some extremely gray area practice. I'd put the chance of being banned at the same as using stretched res. So, none.

PC macros have been out since4 b4 u was born LOL. Good try Mr. Ostrich. I've seen exactly what OP is talking about in DBD.

Technically it sorta is, but they'd never in million years get banned.

I think that if you did it excessively, you'd probably end up garnering a lot of reports and BHVR might take a look at your account, but I'm really not sure.
Honestly, it's just free BP and a free escape for the survivors. They might not even mind overmuch.

It actually is outright bannable. It's called 'botting' and used to be a huge problem 4-5 years ago. Killers setting up a macro to just left click over and over to farm points on cooperative Survivors (and back then, points were used to rank up).
It's under the Unsportsmanlike Category in the report section.

Just go farm... easy BP

If I see autoswinging killers as a survivor I just take the points and go next; I don't bother reporting them. It's not like they're hacking or anything.

It's not your fault that matchmaking got you such "present".
Best course of action is just to make gens, loot some chests, trigger endgame collapse (less farming from healing for the others) and report this "killer".
Do you understand that you get less bloodpoints because he can't hook and you can't unhook? No pallet stuns just flashlight blind (still, saw that thing two times - it was Hillbilly with lightborn). Absolutely not fun.
People that play brutally, slug all 4, but let you reset, heal up and escape, are way more fun and better than auto swing puppet.

I've seen this a few times now. Was utterly confused by it. I figured killer needed to land hits or at least be near target to get points

People don't get banned for hacking or cheating, so no, standing there won't get you banned.

Just for reference here’s the link to the list of things that can result in a temporary ban. Being afk or not participating isn’t bannable, but using a bot is.

I never thought I'd see the day that people complain about free points I don't understand humanity

Should be, it's boring af. Rifts aren't even hard to complete anymore and you get more BP actually playing, so play.
