Should I start playing as the killer?
This is coming from a Survivor main who hasn't played killer in a long, long time.
I play this game solo most of the time, mostly by preference and also because I can't really find anyone chill enough not to take each game too seriously. If we can keep each other alive, do gens and escape, great, if we can't, we can't. I try hard to just have a good time playing the game, I don't want to hear anyone complain every match that they happen to die. When I play solo, I do try to help the team, take hits when opportune, etc., etc., but if I can't do everything like a pro survivor, which I'm not, then the game might just turn towards the killer's favor. That's natural, sometimes you "win" as survivor, sometimes you don't.
What I absolutely hate is when my fellow teammate turns to work with the killer to get me out of the game. Why? I don't know why but I do have inferences. If we're the last two standing, then I'll try to get a gen (or more) done safely. If the other person happens to give chase to the killer, I'll absolutely do my best to complete the gens, but it's hard to do when you're injured yourself. But if I'm the one looping the killer, almost every time, the other person just hides and does nothing; that I can tell. I'm so sick of the other teammate somehow convincing the killer to make a pact to find me, just so they'll probably live. I absolutely hate this practice and it happens more times than you think. Can't control how [BAD WORD] <--(rhymes with kitty) a person decides to be.
And to take it even further, if I get caught and there's a chance the other person will live, I'll try to kill myself quickly on hook so they can possibly get hatch.
There's various other gripes I deal will as a solo survivor, but above is what I hate the most about the experience.
So, is it worth switching towards playing more killer? I used to play killer a long time ago like Legion or Ghostface, but I found Survivor much more fun. I just really hate what I have to endure when I play this game, plus people say killer is much more stressful now. A part of me only wants to play killer as a way retaliation against "certain" people, but I know that's not a good excuse.
What should I do?

I started playing the game as killer and that's what got me into it. I find it a lot of fun.
I think what a lot of people are talking about when killer gets jipped is super high end games. Most of my games are pretty chill.

I believe that hating your teammates is the best reason to play killer. It worked out great for me. Especially if you are chill as you won't make it to the mmr where everyone is whining about.

Try it out. If you like it, then yes!

If you don't intend to play competitive as killer and you just want to enjoy a lax game where kills do not matter then you should play killer. Killer at high mmr is miserable. I personally 4k most games as nurse but any other killer isn't viable, don't believe any thing else as this is what the game in its current state is.

I will say as survivor even if your team dies you can still get a 32k perfect game (and a little beyond during some seasons).
So don't worry about your team. Get great skillchecks. Max your categories and show that killer there are more things to fear out there than SWF squads. It is possible so if you enjoy the survivor role then don't give it up. I'm a solo survivor and do fine, even when my team is a little squeeshy.
(I'm not toxic either. 95% of the time post game chat is chill. It's fun.)

Hey, think about it like this--
when you play Killer, you're guaranteed to not get god-awful teammates.

You should but be careful however the way you play you will receive salt from the survivor so if you cant handle the salt stay survivor.
