So sick of seeing Dead Hard 24/7
There comes a point where you get so tired of seeing the same thing over and over again that you just want it gone some day.
For me, that's Dead Hard.
I'm a 85 survivor, 15 killer main and even I get sick and tired of people running Dead Hard in EVERY SINGLE MATCH. I never use Dead Hard, but it never fails to surprise me to see that I'm the only in a 4 man team to not equip it. I see Ruin a lot less than Dead Hard at this point.
Change it, if you can't delete it. It's making every single match the same thing over and over again. I'd rather see them equip BT than that stupid DH.

BT won’t extend chases for you though. Totally different perk functions.

My favorite part was when they fixed dead hard and refused to call it a buff like everybody and their brother wouldnt be running it
Nowadays I don't go a single game without seeing all 4 survivors running it
10 -
Even before they "fixed" it I was seeing DH 9 out of 10 times.

It's not only the best exhaustion perk, it's the best survivor perk. Even if the survivor does not have it, you expect it. Some just wait for that and have really good reflexes, to use it at the last second when you are about to hit.
That's the only perk that really needs to changed like a token based one. Way too strong.

i have issues with DH but for me it seems problematic because of the context of exhaustion perks.
Balanced Landing has a 40 second cooldown. Dead Hard has a 40 second cooldown.
Balance Landing's condition is that you have to fall from a "great height" to use it. In order to use Dead Hard you have to be injured.
On what Planet do you have to play DBD to think that these 2 conditions are equally hard to achieve ? Most killers do not have lethality you will most likely be injured at some point in the match. Versus you can only use your exhaustion perk in specific areas of the map, and some maps will have them less then others. The game is even functioning around pallets meaning: if i use a pallet in an area that area becomes way weaker. That area might be the same area where i can use Balanced Landing.
And i could spell it out like this for every exhaustion perk and it boils down to. Why the fuk is it 40second cooldown? condition of being injured is not greater then having to pallet stun vaulting a window not being able to sprint or having to sit in a locker for a locker stun. And theres more to this but... this should be already enough of a reason.
3 -
well you're probably gonna continue to see it every match because it's a popular meta perk especially in high MMR.
0 -
Yep, I see DH in pretty much every game, and when I'm on an MMR tear it's not at all rare to see all 4 survivors running DH.
Do people still claim sprintburst is more powerful than DH these days?
0 -
I would still argue Sprint Burst is stronger due to its infinite utility all match, and for rescuing you out of dead zones. But it may be a tie when you consider that Dead Hard can be activated on demand (given you are injured and not exhausted).
1 -
I don't particualy like DH but I don't think the perk's effect itself should be changed.
The kind of change I would like to see is a different activation condition (or another one) that makes survivors waste some time. For example you might even rework DH to work while healthy but make it so that activation condition is something hard or limited like unhooking someone, or managing to last in chase for 2 minutes etc.
1 -
I'd argue against "infinite" utility. Perhaps I suck with it, but I find I always waste it at the start of a match as I don't want to walk everywhere, then end up getting into a chase whilst exhausted. There's no such timing disadvantage with DH. When you need it, it's there.
Also I often see the dead zone argument, but this can be mitigated by staying away from dead zones (DH + Windows is just ultimate for me).
I could see an argument the perks are equally effective in certain scenarios but can't see DH as anything other than the strongest exhaustion perk right now. Especially post the validation buff.
0 -
I would quite like to see the exhausted status itself be reworked to be more punishing. For example if you're exhausted you cannot drop pallets or fast vault etc. Or it requires you to "recover" in a way similar to mending otherwise you collapse after x amount of time.
0 -
I like this idea. Remove bloodlust and just make it so that exhausted survivors cannot fast vault, they're stuck with medium vaults.
Now there's also benefits to not running exhaustion perks, and someone who is a good looper can no longer use something like DH to loop people for minutes on end.
0 -
Lol no.
1 -
What makes DH even more powerful is due to their new buff and boon update and I really don't understand why they only have 40 sec cooldown...make it atleast 50 or 60. And DH should not be able to get over traps, not even trapper is immune to his own traps so why should a perk be able to?...DH and circle of healing needs the nerf the most rn, swf can infinite spam a totem thats been stepped on is so broken. Survivors these days heal up so quickly n once again DH whenever their injured for another 3rd life. I'm also concerned for the upcoming exhaustion perk knowing the game is at a state where its hard to apply pressure with so many fast heals and DH on top of it all. I had a team with sprint bursts n that one was annoying aswell but not as much as DH, they need to change the cooldowns really badly.
3 -
"Validation" is just code for "giving the survivor a free 3rd health state". You get refunded legit hits because DH
4 -
DH is legit the most boring thing to go against in this game. That dabbing forward animation looks goofy and stupid, and the perk is stupidly overpowered. The new chapter comes with yet another exhaustion perk that is not going to see use because just like every other exhaustion perk it pales in comparison to DH.
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/KQYIHG0d8kc/maxresdefault.jpg Seriously, just look at that animation and tell me with a straight face this isn't goofy.

I think the OP meant BT has more value than DH.
And I agree.
DH makes you play selfishly and less cautiously. Survivors should learn to hide when necessary and work together accordingly.
Dead Hard makes survivors feel invincible to the point where they're not scared to get chased anymore.
2 -
I wish more perks helped against the S tier killers like Nurse and Blight
Dead Hard is one of the few that actually do, so whenever I'm facing them constantly I feel the need to use it
1 -
People run good perks.
It, along with all the other good perks, are here to stay until BHVR decides to make a face turn.
2 -
Dead hard, iron will, and d strike is all I see now.
0 -
Am sick of seeing discordance, ruin, noed, tinkerer, pop, eruption, corrupt, bbq face camping tunneling etch.
3 -
Because they weren’t legit on the survivor side only yours
0 -
Agree, if they remove ruin and pop also. Sick of them too
2 -
Yes I claim that. I don't use Dead Hard. Only sprint burst so I can get to gens faster. And also a burst of speed when I am not injured. I use BT, and Hook Eye (sorry dont know the name) Spine chill and SprintBurst. Got to iridescent 1 with these on a Nintendo sandbagging me.
0 -
I think the same of a noed killer that gets a undeserved 3 to 4 who plays bad and yeah ik what you and many will say do bones, its not a problem i SWF but not possible in random queue. It has counter play its call baiting, good killers know how to bait dead hard very easily.
1 -
Sometimes I walk up behind a camping killer and use Sprintburst to get close enough to unhook before the hit. And I also use BT and hide behind the person I unhooked. Its a great combo for me.
1 -
I stopped walking everywhere. At first I did, but SB comes back while doing a gen or on a hook. But I do walk into the basement and walk out until the killer arrives. then SB because I cant loop the killer worth a penny
0 -
Maybe yall should just run fear monger then easy fix, even if its 10 seconds and your using killers who can close in distance real fast you be surprised how , ghosties love it lately it seem as now I cant sprint burst away if they close up stalking so yeah there is another fix. what number post of dead hard complaints is this I think number 500, ugh lost count.
1 -
This thread is about Dead Hard. Dead Hard is most problematic mid-chase, when used to extend a chase once you already got hit once, and link together loops. If you are getting injured before the 10 seconds is up, then you are bad at looping anyway. Fearmonger does nothing for Dead Hard.
1 -
Another DH thread bites the dust.
1 -
I couldn't care less about dead hard at this point cause i can counter if if you time it right. Its the ROLLBACK that is getting out of control
2 -
Anything that the devs throw in to break meta gets complained about, so can you really blame people for running the perks they consistently run?
Rather deal with Dead Hard than DS/Unbreakable combo, especially at end game.
1 -
If they weren't hits, Nemesis would break the pallets instead of hitting neither the survivor or pallet.
So yeah, just stolen hits
0 -
That’s a nemesis specific issue. Not saying it doesn’t need a nerf but validation just makes it work
0 -
hahah yeah and when I smash hit a killer to get a break of speed as they breaking that pallet towards a shadow step boon or I i litch a window with quick and quiet as the killer miss and recovering from a window animation hit an loses me np then Ill say dead hard is nothing compared to those other 2 with right set ups. Anyways just learn to bait it out if you cant oh well think of other things that you killers have that is stupid op like mirror scratch myers. Know whats broken getting hit when you already did fast vault via pallet or window.
0 -
Also, you can't bait Dead Hard when used to gain distance.
Tell me you have low MMR without telling me you have low MMR.

I just wanna put this myth to rest mo they are not legit on the survivor sides I've I have legit hit people that dashed into me mid dead hard during the animation not before not after and asked them if it hit them on there screen and all of them have said yes I deserved the hit
1 -
ive been running it on Plague and even I still find myself respecting DH on survs that I know are exhausted haha
Fearmonger and Tinkerer is a legitimate combo now if you ask me
1 -
Bless you the few smart killers who know how to counter dead hard/boons/ iron will etc. Can I get more awesome ones like you that shows your fellow killers how to counter anything survivors have?
0 -
I mostly use deadhard to counter bloodlust, not breaking a pallet to build up bloodlust doesn’t take much skill or thought either. People need to accept that some perks in this game take less skill to use than others.
Tinkerer and noed reward you for losing but I’m not complaining about them, there’s also fearmonger which works really good against deadhard. There actually was a match where I went down 3 times because I kept forgetting I was still exhausted from fearmonger lol. It also prevents survivors from using sprintburst so if you hate exhaustion perks I would fearmonger a try.

Same. Do killers think we like seeing them using the same perks over and over?
4 -
Then they call us entitled see the hypocrisy in this?
0 -
there are killers with none counter at all than dead hard, if we removed dead hard we would need to tweak S tier killers quite dramatically.
1 -
Its so used now it doesnt even work against me. I just assume everyone has it.
0 -
Im tired of people DCing, the horrible MM that only benefit SWF, and the huge cheating problem. I think this 3 things are more important than just an overused perk.
0 -
You missed the part where while you are in a chase you do not recover from exhaustion. So even if you use both, if the killer keeps chasing you, you will not get a second use even after the 40 seconds are up.
0 -
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD . So you think its reasonable to expect someone to get 2 sprint bursts or 2 smash hit or 2 Balance landings during a chase? 😂 i mean...... you do realize what you just said applies to every exhaustion perk? Also 😂 why would you use both?
🤣 did i not mention that i could go on but didn't because it would just be a wall of text? 🤣

And when validation blocks a killer's power from working, like when you DH away from a pallet? The survivor isn't hit but the pallet doesn't break like it's supposed to do. Definitely an issue most survivors ignore when discussing DH.
0 -
They can’t change or delete it until they address camping and tunneling as dead hard is one of the only perks that does anything against those 0 skill anti fun strats.
1 -
There is no reason to not run dead hard. It's like if you were playing magic the gathering and could use black lotus in your deck. You're going to use it if you can since it's so good and there's no reason to not use it. You're just hurting yourself not using it, and in a team game, you're hurting your entire team by not using it. DH has become a problem now because it's so good and outclasses everything else that there is genuinely no excuse to not have it in your build. The perk does too much and honestly a single dead hard by itself is often better than 3 other meta perks and no dead hard. The "fix" has made it so powerful that the only reason to take it off is for a challenge.
