I’m so excited and nervous for Tuesday
Tuesday is the day that I get to finally play as the second most fun killer in the whole game. I can’t wait to make survivors miserable shooting crows across the map and locking down loops (that is a joke please don’t crucify me). PSA: this is the reason my avatar is Spies from the Shadows for the time being because of crow lady.
The reason I’m nervous though is that BHVR for some reason likes gutting strong and fun killers and they might do it to Artist. The only acceptable nerf for her would be to remove getting damaged from idle dire crows, but I better not see some unnecessary change that makes her unfun.
BHVR, you did a great job with the Artist, she’s fun to play as and against, and she isn’t OP at all. Please do not ruin it!

That was my feel on her. Like she kind of came out of left field when they've got all these other obvious choices to go on.

She reminds me of Candyman in a lot of ways. She's an artist like him. She lost her arms to a group of people like he lost his hand. She throws out flocks of crows where he has bees.
That's just an observation, though. It doesn't mean she's actually inspired by him.

Ehh. I’d rather more unique designs instead of “anti loop killer number 7” I like her perks a lot though and pain resonance will be a main stay on my clown build

I think she is unique. She may be anti loop but her map presence potential is what makes her special.

True but I wish they focused more on that as opposed to “make loop unplayable” aspect. She definitely is more interesting then killers like nemmy and trickster but nothing special imo.
(on a side note why the hell does she get 115% while deathslinger is still stuck limping at 110%?)

I'm so incredibly worried they went and changed things that don't need it. She was really fun to play on PTB.
Well, if she turns out bad on live, I have a good reason to go on a long break from DBD at least.

I feel like they are going to move down the amount of crows she can carry from 3 to 2. I would hate that nerf so much.

I hope they don't gut her as well. She has potential to be S tier, a Killer that WILL FINALLY shake up the same three high MMR Killers (is Spirit still considered S tier???)
I think she's pretty balanced. She's powerful, yet still balanced as you need to use her crows effectively in order to get the most of her power.

Yes Spirit is still 100% S tier. She’s just a fair S tier killer like Blight.

I have a feeling she’ll at least get a few changes. Killers never make it live in their PTB version.

I never got a chance to play as Artist on the PTB (wait times were too long for me to bother), so I'm mainly looking forward to the new map and music. I'll get a shot to try her out soon enough, but again I'll probably be playing survivor for a few days just because of the killer queues. Maybe I'll finally have an excuse to bring some flashlights.
Artist seems neat, but I'm very uninterested in the new survivor and probably won't bother with him for a while.

Despite her being your average anti-Loop killer, I do like the unique mechanic and theme around her.
not that excited about the new chapter though since I want to see more game health and significant balance changes.. also would rather have them clarify the NFT issues as well as security issues (and as of now I won’t spent money until they do adress these topics)

Just hope she doesn't get a Cenobite or Twins level gutting. Or Wraith. Or Deathslinger.

I'm excited to. I play on console so I couldn't play the ptb but she seems like she is going to be interesting to play against.

Artist balance changes:
Crows can no longer injure survivors
Swarms are removed by simply pressing m1
Swarms that fly into walls die (birds tend to do that after all)
90% movement speed
After shooting crows, starts a 45 second cooldown until next crow can be deployed
Decreased number of crows from 3 to 1
These changes will make her fair and balanced and fun for the survivor side.

They’ll make her slower. Like they did Trickster. A ranged killer is never fast. If her crows can do health states she will be slow. Imagine her with STBFL. 😭

Gutted? I enjoy playing against Blight, Huntress (most of the time), Spirit, etc. I personally don't want her gutted. Her design and power is actually interesting. She just didn't feel fair on PTB (I think we both can agree on that), and I hope they fix it.

We also need to make it where survivors can always see the aura of the dire crow. This will give them a chance to dodge it mindlessly.

I wouldn't be too worried about potential nerfs. The Artist seems like she's in a place where any nerfs wouldn't affect the fact that she's very strong unless they were MASSIVE / game changing nerfs. There might be small tweaks upon release but I highly doubt anything major will happen. If anything she might get nerfed on down the line once she's actually been live for a while and even then who knows? Spirit went a looong time without getting hit.
Circle of healing needs to be nerfed but even after it inevitably does, it will likely still be strong because of its design / boons.
Stay excited, don't worry about things that might not even happen. I'm hype AF for Tuesday too lol

Ever since Artist was announced, i imagine her during the "camera spin" on Old Wretched Shop, and I would really like to see that.

Doctor honestly looks so weak before. Never played as old Doc but it looks like the transition between treatment and punishment feels really bad.

This is an accurate representation of tier list levels. Totally agree.
I hate when people call killers in B tier balanced. Extremely weak is not balanced.
Unfortunately the level of balance that DBD seems to aim their killers for is around B tier, which explains a lot of the problems we have.

I don't really get it either.. I think about 80% of the killers are basically b-tier where they need such major changes to remotely be playable at high MMR level. none of the killers really feel like they're S-tier in the sense that no killer in DBD feels like they can win semi-consistently vs strong teams.
The killers that are almost balanced are becoming less balanced and rapidly joining 80% of unfun section where their negative changes require a revert.
I feel Spirit was only S-tier because of mother daughter ring+strong base-kit. Now her base-kit is so bad that she relies on Mother daughter ring to just be remotely playable. I also really dislike playing against her now because she is super brain dead against with the sound and playing as her is also braindead as cherry blosom is like old stridor without the actual skill of sound tracking.

All of my friends uninstalled even before boons were introduced. BHVR will have to do something pretty major to get them to come back. Until then I'll stick to playing something else.
