Has anyone even gotten any value out of the new boon perk?

A question for killers and survivors alike. Although I guess for killers: have you had a good roll then this boon perk wrecked your snowball? I can only imagine this perk would only really get value from slug heavy killers such as Oni, Plague, Twins. But yeah, Is the perk even getting any value or is it just one of the many perks that won't be selected in the perk loadouts? What's your current opinion on the Boon: Expedition (is that what's it's called? I dunno I haven't gotten to check out the new chapter today including perks)? Why would or wouldn't you choose it over Unbreakable?

It's only been out for a couple hours, I doubt it.

It seems like a really, really situational perk based on its description, though, so I don't know that many people are going to get a lot of value out of it.

Not really no. Slugging is already niche coupled with the niche of a boon totem its not going to see much use

I faced survivors who got a quick revive with it.

I mean, I purposefully left him on the ground and also purposefully ignored the boon beside him. But I mean, he did get value.

I had some survivor use the perk and they got value out of it. It was on the new map beind the main building you only have 2 hook and if ome get sabo you are stuck to drop the survivor because you cant physicaly go to another hook before the survivor wiggle out. I drop him and i did not expect the boon totem to be near there so when i chase the guy who sabo my hook. The slug got up because of the boon after a while the survivor were always running toward the corner with no hook because i sacrifice someone there and pick themself up cause of the boon

No because its one of the strategies killers can't use now slugging because of that new perk so no killer is gonna slug.

    Yes.

But it's relies on them not just booning the hell out of all your totems the second they know penti is in play and not just popping them the second you move away. Which...yeah, it's a badly thought out perk.

What's most annoying about it though is the fact that it's almost entirely useless, unless you pair it with another perk from a paid DLC.

I've had some success on maps with multiple floors to be honest. The biggest ones have been coal tower and ironworks.

Surprisingly, I did just face people who got major value out of this perk for real tonight despite my earlier joke.

They set the boon up in RPD, in an office near the library on the second floor. Then they just stood by the boon and let me down them.

I couldn't snuff out the boon because they made me down them on top of it and the "pick up" prompts were overriding it, but I couldn't pick anyone up because I couldn't make it to a hook from there. So they'd just wiggle out on repeat and go back on top of the boon.

If I left them alone, they'd revive and do gens on that side of the map until they heard my terror radius, in which case they ran right back up.

It was just kinda obnoxious tbh.

    ---

But I guess that's mainly RPD and the 5-year lack of proper key binding options for you.

Recently had a game with a Blight. It was just me and another Scoops Ahoy Steve left. My teammate was on the hook, and you know I can't leave a fellow Steve behind. I rescued Steve without Borrowed Time as I was running Overcome and all three Boon perks. The Blight slugged the other Steve and camped me. My teammate on the ground was able to crawl across the map to my Boon and pick himself up and escape. Was an amazing moment.

I think I've figured out the 'trick' with Penti.

    • You have to run Plaything, preferably with Retribution. Aura reading is incredible on her.
    • Don't try to get to 5. You never will.
    • Instead, always try to keep Penti at 2, if you can. Save dead totems for when it drops.
    • 2 stacks are by far the most useful effects. 3 is...eh, 4 is nice but unrealistic.

Legion camped me on hook, survs could still rescue me and she tunneled me. After a longer chase she slugged me and waited very close to me (which is weird since the chase was around 2 mins long, I had no ds equipped but still).

After recovering 20% the boon close to me lights up and a few secs later I could stand up and vault a window which catched the Legion off guard and she even missed her attack. We could all escape

Nope. It's too situational to get use out of, anyway.

Got value in a few of my first matches today against Bubbas and Trappers, who slugged the who team. Fair enough I had to actually crawl to the boon range first, but actually managed to escape instead of a 4K.

With a squad carrying Flashlights that perk will be hilarious. I like wild, whacky builds.

Tenacity. Boon: Unbreakable. Power Struggle. Flip Flop.

That boon makes that setup even stronger because it’s a whole radius. Once you stand up you can let the killer stamp it out. Because you only want it where you’re juking the killer.

If your allies have flashlights the killers will not pick up. They’ll almost always leave downed survivors where they are until it’s safe. Giving the downed player time to recover. With tenacity you can even scurry away to your Boon as your allies distract, and then lift yourself up.

If you’re downed around your totem you can guarantee that you’ll recover on top of a pallet if any other survivor is trying to save you. Once you’re ready the survivors can leave. You’ll just whack them with a pallet due to Flip Flop and Power Struggle. 😂

Well when the boon is up you're technically getting value out of it. In a snowball situation the killer is forced to pick if he doesnt know where the boon totem is. And if he looks for it thats just letting people get more distance ruining the snowball potential.

I know exactly what spot you're referring to. One time I had a No Mither, Sabo, Breakout squad all congregate up to that one spot. Even picked the map and everything and parked it up there.

That spot is so busted, a hook needs to spawn in that room always at least. Not only 20% of the time.
