First Match in awhile, So I’m unranked. Why am I only finding golds?

Like really? And yes they all escaped but one. I’m still learning her kit. (The crows are kinda wanky for me) but I’m the lowest rank, why am I finding people way above me?

    The old system is gone, coloured ranks are supposedly not a indication of skill, but of wins essentially

    Ranks don't matter anymore. It's based on MMR.

    Gold grade means they played more matches than you. I have seen red grade survivirs crouching at the corner of the map. Bronze grade killers downed all red grade survivors .

    When someone reaches Red 1, they no longer lose any pip and can play more relaxed. And since you can't lose rank - don't be surprised even to see not just gold but red ranks. The closer to 13th every month, the greater amount of gold and red ranks in play.

    The matchmaking is not based on Grades, but on MMR, the Grades are pretty much an indication of playtime.

    You overall MMR rating is hidden, grades just show playtime for all practical purposes.
