More Realm Beyond Updates
are we going to see a graphical upgrade for Red Forest, Blackwater swamp, or Haddonfield?????

hopefully, they look out of place atm

Maybe they're doing them all at once. I think the swamp maps and Haddonfield need a huge makeover tbh. Red Forest doesn't need too much

I just pray for rebalancing that doesn't involve slapping a few breakable walls next to god windows and calling it a day. Or god forbid, Game-edition "more pallets!" All three of those realms are on the painful side - Swamp even sucks for survivors due to the massive dead zones it likes to form in the middle.

They kinda just forgot

They teased swamp on twitter a couple weeks back, I thought. So that might be coming up this mid-chapter.

I don’t want graphical updates, I want maps like Haddonfield to be more bearable.

Swamp sucks for both sides.

I can't wait for them to add breakable walls to Haddonfield's house of pain.
3 -
I hope not. I need something to remember old DBD by

Hopefully never.
Enough damage has been done already.
If they continue, one of three things will happen:
Option 1: The map will lose what makes them special (MacMillan and Coldwind)
Option 2: The map will become extremely ######### ugly (Yamaoka)
Option 3: The map will become extremely unbalanced (The Game)
Extra option 4: All of the above (Springwood)
It is time to stop. It really is.

Instead of giving us reworked swamp, they randomly added a squeaky noise to the lamps on the docks in yesterday’s update. Confused the heck out of me when I first heard it, thought it was Jonah on his iPad.

I've been waiting because after that they can work on other things to make them all look better like lighting and fog. Especially fog really needs to be reworked.

Springwood and The Game were extremely unbalanced before already though. For the Game it just switched from killer to survivor sided and for Springwood they actually made it somewhat more bearable.
looks are subjective so no need to argue here. But lightning and bad fog already happened and made them worse looking.

Coldwind and The Game look immensely better, and while people do still complain about Coldwind, I generally have a much better time on it.
Balance can be argued but in my opinion the Realm Beyond has made maps look much, much nicer, in ways that actually affects gameplay; it used to be really hard to navigate The Game because the stairs weren't see through and because it was way too dark, and similarly, the corn is much less of a problem now that the map's been brightened up.

What are you talking about Pale Rose is very Survivor Sided with all the LoS blockers and both have the underside of the Docks and the buildings that can make the life very difficult for the Killer.
0 -
The entire map of Pale Rose is basically a gen lock, most gens out in the open with no nearby defenses for survivors.
1 -
They did? That would fall out of the pattern. They typically only tease the visual overhauls with concept art and WIP images, but I don't recall seeing anything like that.

The Pale Rose Gen is so high up the Killer can't get to the Survivors before they run away
The Small boat gen has 4 ways to escape
Dock Gens have good LoS to allow Survivors to see the Killer and escape faster.
The other Gens have enough LoS blockers that people can easily hide.
Blackwater's tile layout is very Survivor friendly, even the open "deadzones" have some type of rubble or a decent loop.

Haddonfield and Red Forest are extremely survivor-sided. Swamp is just unpleasant in general and has elements that screw over both sides - large dead zones, easy 3-gens, and numerous extremely exposed gens without nearby cover along with high visibility across the center of the map to annoy survivors; fairly large size, powerful/mazelike main and secondary buildings with unpredictable and sometimes OP RNG, weird spawns that often hug the edges of the map, and extremely concealing tall grass to annoy killers. The totems on this map are also a crazy 50/50, whether you're doing hexes or boons; they're either hurr durr out in the open or hiding behind a tree in the corner of the map. And have fun finding hatch.

You didn't really need to point that out.
But, if you somehow enjoy those disgusting abominations, good for you.
At least you don't have a bad time, like I do.
Well, it switched from killer sided to survivor sided in a game that has more survivor sided maps, so that is not good.
As for Springwood, this one is personal. Its OG version (back when there was just one of it) is my second-favorite map in this game and I never really had a problem with it as killer. Though I guess it depends on one's playstyle.
As for bad lighting and Fog, I think everyone universally agrees that they got worse.
However, as @Aven_Fallen once pointed out, that was actually before the reworks. The Realm Beyond kicked a dead horse on that matter (it was still better than the reworked versions, but you get the idea).

Eh, it's a thread about wanting more Realm Beyond, so I think it's a pretty relevant interjection. More relevant than talking about how much you don't like them, anyway.

Just cut the map in half is fine.Clown is losing weight of walking gen to gen in that map.

Correction:
You didn't really have to point that out to me, considering that it is a subjective topic.
0 -
Sure, but it was a direct response to your comment. You're saying enough damage is done, I'm pointing out that while some things got worse, some things got a lot better.
It's a public forum, my man, people are gonna weigh in on your statements.

Hate the new orange Coldwind, Im red/green colourblind, so even turning that feature up i still struggle to see the red gen outline through the corn, and as a Huntress main it really screws with my abilty to land hatchets.

Yes, I know.
All I am saying is that, when the topic is really subjective, sometimes it is unnecessary to call out disagreeing opinions.
0 -
You'd think someone of that opinion wouldn't have waded in to this thread to call out their disagreeing opinion.
Fair enough, though.
0 -
But I didn't call out the OP.
Unlike you.

But, if you somehow enjoy those disgusting abominations, good for you.
these are the comments that annoy me. Like.. you can voice your opinion on liking everything from old DbD without talking down on people appreciating the (objectively) better graphics. Sure different atmosphere etc. i understand all that and I am partly with you. But.. I think you get what I mean.

I don't mind it. It's the only map I can hear footsteps on consistently.

As the like three people who like the realm beyond. And the near everyone who dislikes these maps. I hope all are finished next Mid-Chapter. And they said it’d resume

I apologize if this comment came out as rude or aggressive. I assure you it was not my intention.
When discussing things we hate, sometimes we make poor choices of words.

I have but one request. Don't mow the lawns.
