Why do the Artist's crows sometimes not inflict damage ...
Despite sending them off literally 2 meters away from a survivor, and sometimes it still inflicts damage after like 8 meters ? Is there like a secondary rule that I do not know of or is it just inconsistant as hell ? The only thing that comes to mind is that it may be dependant on whether or not the crows go through terrain, but even that wouldn't really explain some of the instances.

If a survivor is close, it deals damage.
If a survivor is far away, they get "swarmed".
If a survivor is "swarmed" and is hit again, it deals damage.

This, but also a small obstacle like a burn barrel will switch the crow's flight path from 'damage' to 'swarm.' To damage an unswarmed survivor, you need to hit them in a straight line at a short distance (you'll have a visual smoky ink trail as an indicator for how far this goes) with no obstructions.

Yeah, I know, my question was about why it sometimes doesn't deal damage despite the survivor being really close to the crow, like 100% in range of damage.

If they're extremely close, it's possible they collided with the crow before you fired it. This swarms them and resets their swarm timer, but never deals damage. The hitbox is kind of generous, so this wouldn't surprise me.

The smallest obstacle that the birds collide with turn them into a swarm shot

That explains it ... Thanks !

Maybe they collided with the dire crow before you hit the button? Idle dire crows swarm the survivor instead of damage them if they collide with them.

Her killer instinct sometimes goes off when i can visibly see it should've been a hit and it's directly gone through them , so i'd like to know the spacing for that because it's robbed me of a down at a couple of loops.
