Flashlight Spamming

Can someone please explain to me why people think this is okay? Like, how does someone literally get any enjoyment out of repeatedly blinding a killer or tea-bagging by rapidly clicking a flashlight when you're standing one step toward exiting? Personally, I don't have it in me to be so taunting and obnoxiously toxic. Have fun, I get it. But this behavior can be likened to walking up to someone who just fell, sticking a finger right up to their nose, and laughing.

It's the internet. I get it. I guess I will just never understand why people find it so easy to be such jerks. I honestly commend the good players out there in their high red rank levels, but a good player to me doesn't behave like that. I don't care how good at the game you are, nothing will ever excuse toxic behavior. Some people just aren't as good at the game as others, there is no reason to spit in their face because of it.

    I don't mind being blinded, but it gets annoying when they keep clickyclicky for the whole game. I don't think it's enough to be banned for though, I think its worse when they refuse to go out and stay the whole egc to tbag you.

    Blinding the killer is fine, what isn't fine is those people who use macros and keep on spamming the sound, even as a survivor I HATE that annoying crap and if you do that close to me I'll just let you die on hook.

    It's worse when you are even slightly photosensitive - as I am. Enough strobing and I have to go and lie in a dark room for a while until my head stops ringing.

    Though I hate flashlight spam, we should blame BHVR for not fixing this crap and not the people that do it.

    Today I played a game against a decked-out flashlight Elodie. She didn't manage to flashlight save, but she tried constantly, and she clicked whenever I was chasing someone else. I ignored her, or hit her when she was close enough that it wasn't a detour.

    She wasn't overtly BMing me, though (no tbagging and clicking at pallets, only when she was trying to divert me from her teammates), and she was a decent looper and I appreciated that she'd run interference and try to save her teammates, which is something I wish my teammates would do in solo queue. So when I down her on death hook, I consider it for a bit, and decide to leave her be. Later, when I'm downing someone else on death hook, I evade her flashlight save, stop (I am right next to a hook), and then look directly at her, unmoving, so she can get the save she's been hungering for all game. She runs right in front of me afterwards and I ignore her to go somewhere else.

    Cue the exit gates, where she and the guy I blatantly let her save tbag and click me until I chase them out. I say something along the lines of "Yeesh, no good deed goes unpunished" in the chat and unsurprisingly get "LOOOOL UR SO MAD"

    The moral of the story is that I was stupid to extend any benefit of the doubt to a clicky flashlight user. :B

    Anyone that says people are soft for getting mad at flashlight clickers need to wake up. I’ll admit I used to be one of those people. I do regret that but now I understand that when survivors do it at the gates, are they really doing it to show positive vibes to the killer, or are they really just trying to rub it in after the killer has a rough match?

    It’s a game people, it’s meant to be fun so quit being #########. My best advice would be to try to ignore it as much as possible and don’t give the bullies what they want. It’s just not worth trying to feed them.

    Can't take the little psychopaths toy away from them can we? they might get bored if they can't knowingly harass the person playing killer with non stop click click click click.
