Artist can damage you even while you are not being swarmed?!
Since when?! I mean I just got downed by her power while not being swarmed. Is this a bug or feature or exploit or add-on or ######### is this?

that a huge part of why i dont like the way her power is.. yes if the crow is close enough it can injure you. another lose lose type thing that pyramid head had that they got rid of. tho im not calling for any nerfs.

I suppose u didnt read her power nor played her either.
In a 8 meters range from the idle crow its a damage area as long as there arent obstacles in the way.

The only thing it can go through and still damage are windows and pallets, but it's inconsistent

Damaging crow will only happen across windows, pallets and stairs, if it goes through groundless areas (any form of second floor drop and even the small hills) or any obstacle (big or small) it wont deal damage, but apply a swarm.

"Dire Crows inflict damage to Survivors while on their Flight Path, which is indicated to The Artist.
Once Dire Crows continue past their individual Flight Paths, they turn into a Swarm, able to pass through any obstacles while flying on through the environment." - from the Artist's power description
Flight Path's are also interrupted if they hit an obstacle and turn into a swarm. Either way, yes you can be injured or downed by one of Artist's crows without being swarmed first.

People who think this is OP certainly haven't noticed how short the distance must be for you to damage with the crows. It's almost point blank. I've had matches where I set up a crow really close to a window, waited the survivor to vault, and... swarmed. Oh.
I've also seen survivors get just swarmed when there was just an object between them and the idle crow, with no extra distance. The killer has to be careful and work to apply this damage. And survivors can counter it for changing their course once the crow is placed.

Why are people like you not looking up the Artist wiki, or even better what big streamers showcase what she can do. So people like you can start DC'ing less to Artist. She is really easy to counter and she has a high skill ceiling to pull of any snipes.
To answer your question. Yes she can damage you in a very short straight line. Beyond that you will only get swarmed. If you walk into the range of a crow and get hit, that is on you.

Yeah Change it at make her power useless because Survivors are Mad they cant Infinite Loop her and dont want to learn how to Counter a Killer
I Think it would be better if she cant damage anymore whit her power and when a Survivor gets swarmed Survivor gets a Speed Buffa and unlimited Dead Hard until the Swarm is gone 🤷♀️

Your suggestion is a bit too much in my opinion. I think she only needs the changes I mentioned.

She does not need changes, It's 8m, it's a straight line, only damages through windows or pallets if not obstructed by obstacles. If you're gonna loop her, make sure there's obstacles between you and the summoned crow and take a swarm instead or leave the loop. Treat it like a PotD, only less spam, and if you let her summon 3 crows at a loop on a tile unobstructed, that's on you.

Personally I don't mind this but I wish it was telegraphed better to the player
Like maybe they should get some kind of sound que or a warning when they are in injure range of a dire crow when not swarmed

I mean they already see the crow idle and the sound cue of her placing it, do they really need a third? People just need to learn how much distance 8m is, pretty much the same as PotD distance without addons.

I think a bit of better telegraphing would stop people complaining that the killer is unfair and would help people learn how to play against her
rather than you know, the alternative of her being nerfed
