The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

What does Cenobite's M2 actually do?

Best case scenario: you hit them and then they break those two chains almost instantly.

But you have to slow down and release, and then guide the projectile while your character stands still.

You literally gain nothing from that.

It does nothing but slow you down, better use Clown, at least u slow survivors instead of yourself.

It has a 50% chance to do less than nothing if the chains spawn badly. The other 50 results in a slightly better version of clowns slow bottles.

Fact of the matter is that his chain hunt is his main ability. The regular chain is too difficult to control and it's potential reward doesn't fit the demand

I'm still dumbfounded by his nerf; 2 chains down from 3.

The chain is significantly harder to hit at loops than Clown's bottles. And as you pointed out, the random aspect destroys all the benefits.

In a straight line it's better to just walk towards them.

And I know this from playing against him. It doesn't matter if I get hit.

Chain Hunt is admittedly strong but it can be countered and what about all the times when it's not up?

The chain nerf is specifically if running Engineer's Fang.

Admittedly, that's still the best thing he can use, but it's not like his M2 has only 2 chains in other situations.

You use it to interrupt survivors trying to solve the box. That's its best use

Sometimes it slows them down so u can reach them and m1. But if survs r a bit better, they mostly dodge the chain and it does nothing.

In the same game where other killer powers can insta down you i dont see why pin heads power cant at least injure(without the fang) or deep wound the survivor.

If anything make it so they cant drop pallets so he feels good during a loop.

It does quite a bit at tiles when it's used in the right spot. It's the same slowdown as Clown gas or a Freddy puddle and also forces slow/medium vaults. It's not worth using at distance in a straight line. Plus you get passive game stall with the chain hunt mechanic. He's a really strong killer.
