Why is your MMR hidden?

Do you want the real reason or the likely stated reason lol

That's a great question we'd all like to know.

The devs said they hid MMR for a couple of reasons
- They didn’t want people focussing on trying to game the system if they knew exact specifics
- They were worried that if people could see other people’s ratings it might create a more toxic environment where players complain about low rated teammates or insult or dismiss opinions of people with lower ratings.
I’d like to be able to see what rating bracket I’m in out of curiosity personally, beyond that the only opinion I have is they should remove Grades from the endgame screen since they’re just confusing a lot of people who think they’re the MMR level. And the grades have the same toxic potential as MMR ratings so if that’s a reason to not show MMR then it’s also a reason not to show Grades.

Because if we actually knew or scores and the scores of our opponents alot more of use will probably leave the game seeing that they are MMR of 2000 vs and pared with a Team of 9000+. MMR is broken atm die to the fact there are less Killers playing now, so the game is ATTEMPTING to match Killers with the appropriate survivors but if there are no survivors in their bracket then the game will pair them with the High MMR where they will get stomped or with a low MMR team that gets decimated. We see that now and I see it now where I can go 10 straight games of facing High MMR teams and loose each game but still face those teams.
Has the "SBMM" ( and I use that term very loosely because it doesn't screen based on skill at all) gotten better.....yes I have had more balanced games but not enough to have faith in it.
Each of your Survivors and Killers should have their own MMR score, not piggy back off a average of you having played them before or for a while.

Because it doesn't work, and since it's hidden there's no actual proof of it working.

I would like to see it.
If you invent a system which turns out to have massive problems, maybe you have to overthink it and do something else.

It was said above, but there are two reasons:
1: It's not a progression system. If you could see what your score is, and thus figure out your gains and losses, people would understandably start trying to game the system, and it's not designed for that. It's supposed to be working in the background while you're going for maxing out the emblem system for those reward BP. Does that work? Eh. But it's what it's supposed to be doing.
2: Go check how people talk about the ranked mode in any game that has it. See how they respond to arguments or comments from people on the lower end of the ladder. That is not necessary for this game, it'd just make things even more toxic.

This is the actual reason

So we don't reverse engineer how it works i guess

What are you basing that on, to come to that conclusion over the more obvious ones? I'm curious.

They don't want people playing around MMR or worrying about MMR. Completely ignores human nature and the entire history of pvp gaming, but that's their reasoning. We already have what they're trying to avoid: everyone is high MMR. It's incredible and statistically impossible, but *everyone* is at high MMR, and if you disagree with them, your hidden number can't be as high as theirs.

It is as always, if you hide somthing people won´t talk about anything else than this.
And there is no magic here. If you die your MMR should go down and if you escape it should go up. But it seems to don´t do that correctly.
