How many times have the devs listened to us?
I honestly want to know, what kinds of feedback have actually influenced or changed the game itself? Does anyone have any examples of this?
While this is mostly a question for mods I guess, if anyone has noticed actually feedback being used I would love to know it!

- Pyramid Head nerf was driven by survivors
- Same with Freddy nerf
- Same with Spirit nerf
- Weirdly, NOT the deathslinger nerf. That just came out of nowhere.
When it comes to "complain about the killer you don't like," the forum has a pretty high success record.

DS nerf
Keys nerf
maps/loops nerf

They actually do listen......Just that it can sometimes take 5 years. *Cough trapper bag *Cough.

Obsession change, mori nerf, prestige rework (eventually) probably some others
Question is why they like to do random changes alot? Like I am still upset about how out of nowhere they nerfed pallet freddy

I think there’s confusion on the forums between correlation and causation on nerfs. Just because a lot of people complain about something and then it gets nerfed doesn’t necessarily mean that the complaints caused the nerf. It’s just that things which might be out of whack in a statistical sense could be correlated with generating more complaints and already also be on the dev’s radar because of the game data. For example, assuming Pyramid Head was statistically getting more kills than he should compared to where they want the game to be then that would drive both their desire to nerf him a bit a few months after release as well as drive survivors to complain about him being “unfun to play against” or whatever.
But when you consider for instance how many complaints, justified or not, go totally ignored by the devs I think it’s fair to say that forum complaints themselves probably have a more limited impact on the balance passes the devs make than some people here think they do. I don’t believe the devs just look at the most popular complaint and say “let’s nerf that”, nor do they just come up with a nerf out of the blue, in both cases I’m positive they’re looking at game data and internal tests to decide what they think are actual problems they want to tweak for versus just the vocal people on the forums asking for a nerf.

I dont think they every listened to us. They just did their own thing and sometimes it lined up with what we've been asking for.

Key nerf was bassicly exactly as people asked for

They've listened to many things, the time it takes for them to actually implement the ideas from feedback just varies. These forums aren't their only source of feedback and sometimes what some people hate, others love, which we even saw here with the Artist. Girl wasn't even out for a week and there were "She's OP/She's trash/She's perfect" threads galore

This is true tho

Only once: the reversion of Patch 1.9.2
Everything else was either sheer luck, or the devs interests happened to align the the community's.

I said it before the devs do listen and fix things it just takes them way too long. They make walking Nurse look like double speed Blight.

Like EVERY PTB they use player feedback to make adjustments to the new chapter being released. Even minor things that are not influencing the game at all (adjusting the Autohaven maps rework "is this green enough for you?")
Major Killer reworks like Doc or Freddy are community driven, the changes done to Legion and how Deep Wounds works, the change to Ruin, keys and hatch, why they introduced the EGC to avoid hatch standoffs and and and. All that comes from player feedback

I would remove the first one.
Most people who complained about Freddy asked for buffs, not a full rework. I myself have seen a Rework request only once, in a obscure Discord server that had no connection to BHVR, and that guy eventually changed his mind.
The devs just messed that up and made the worst possible decision.
Unless you are referring to his recent, pointless nerf, that is.

Ironically, they weren't driven by the forums, this is one of the blatantly false things ever. It takes one look at the forums to see the killer bias.
Also they didn't come out of nowhere, they were problems for a while, even as a killer main.

Perk changes as well. The DS nerf and BT buff were basically changed to the exact way people wanted them too. Same with MoM, Object, etc.

Silly when people say they don't listen when it takes 1 second to look at like, any patch and see it lol
0 -
Nope, only buffs.
Specifically the reversion of Patch 1.8.1, which was his initial nerf.
So, you might wanna change that :)

Not being able to see killer's perks in the end game lobby until the game was over.
Totem counter
Trapper resetting his traps without picking them up
Moving to dedicated servers
Implementing MMR
Adding crossplay
Stopping the resale of previously exclusive cosmetics
Putting out more developer updates

People were asking for a full on rework, we just didnt know we could get one, to such a large scale
A lot of people were happy at first seeing those Freddy changes and playing with him on PTB felt a lot better, didnt take long to realize that it made him boring and uninspired

I've only seen it once, by someone who later renounced his position.

They sometimes listen to us, and other times they listen to idk who... because no one asked for that Billy rework,,,
1 -
Listen, or act upon? Quite a few people only assume they've been listened to if they get their way. If their idea is not used, then apparently they have not listened.
Eitherway, the answer is "Yes" to both.

It depends. Who's the "we" you're reffering to? Killers? Survivors?
0 -
I too wanted a Freddy rework, and I was a fan of it at first until I realized how boring it was
People didn't know Freddy was gonna be changed to that extent, since the biggest changes we've gotten to a killer at that point were the Trapper changes, maybe even the Doctor and Wraith cube. All of these just improved the killer but still kept them relatively the same in terms of gameplay

Guys, you’re crying here 24/7. If devs listen to all of you all survs would start the game hooked
1 -
They listened back when they reversed the aura nerf. This included all auras, like gens too. BBQ and kindred were almost useless. I circled in red where the person is on the hook. That wasn't really playable.

Yes, they listen to us, but, they they take too long to change something that really needs to be changed, I can give some examples:
- Where is the Haddonfield rework?
- Dead hard will never me changed?
- COH nerf omg
- More interactions for survivors when making generators, because making generators is very boring
0 -
Deathslinger nerf was also driven by survivors, everyone was complaining about him before the nerf
0 -
Everyone? I barely saw anyone complaining about him.
0 -
I never saw a single complaint about him on this forum. For that matter, I never saw a single person PLAYING him in any survivor games I've played.
0 -
To be fair it hasn’t been a whole chapter since boons came out.
0 -
You guys literally forgot about the fact that survivors were disconnecting or suiciding on the hook while playing against deathslinger? There were numerous forum posts about how deathslinger was annoying to play against
1 -
People do that against literally every single killer who has ever been released, ever.
People were posting about how TRICKSTER was op when he first came out! The weakest killer in the whole game, and people were DC'ing and spam posting about how he needed to be nerfed.
People get used to how the power works and then the killer falls aside into obscurity. Deathslinger came out over a year and a half ago, but for SOME REASON, now's the time to nerf him. Because there's been such a huge upswing in people playing him and 4k'ing all over the place. Like, seriously. Get real. That came out of nowhere, for no reason, at the request of nobody. In all liklihood, some Dev had a single bad game against him and decided to just gut the whole character for petty revenge.

Hoe many years did the killers main need to beg for it? 5 years?

Not enough of a map loop nerf.....
