How to invite friends playing with Epic from the Steam version ?

Hello ^^

So i'm a DBD steam player but my friends picked up DBD from the Epic store while it's still free to grab and i was wondering if the crossplay between both platforms is possible and if yes i do i invite them to play with me ?

Because i would love not to have to install the game a second time and i'm not sure cross progression is available yet and if it is, if it's safe since i heard people having problems when it came on consoles.
