This game could use more sex appeal...
Hear me out before raging against the title please.
This game is based on horror tropes, and one of those is a bunch of teenage-college aged men and women doing the nasty/showing some skin before getting brutally murdered. Usually it's by a grotesque killer that directly embodies everything the survivors aren't, and well, that is a staple of the horror genre. The sexiest survivor outfits currently aren't nearly enough, as (except for David) they don't show enough skin. Who else wants a full on Bikini/Speedo centered set for these characters? If it doesn't fit their lore, then it can be adjusted to give them more character, but honestly... Who wouldn't want to see Jane, Kate, Feng Min, or even Mikaela in a 2 piece? Hell Who wouldn't want to see Jake, David, Adam or even freaking Bill rocking a speedo or trunks?
I know many of you are asking the same about the killers, and for some of them I can agree (especially The artist, woof), but let's face it, the only reason we'd ever see Hag in a string bikini, is if it was done for comedic purposes, which are in opposition to her character and the games original intents. I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Spirit or Nurse in similar attire, and would even relish it if they were period specific to the characters, but what do you think about the Charlotte? Blight? Ghost face? Don't get me wrong, while Wraith in a speedo may make some peoples knees weak, the same can't be said for Hillbilly or the Doctor and so on.
Mainly the sex appeal HAS to come from the survivors, as they are representatives of the victims of horror movies starting back in the late 70's and going on presently in modern horror. Interestingly enough the reason this is effective is because it's rarely done in those films for the tasteless "Eye Candy" aesthetic, and has a much deeper meaning to it in film than most realize. The bottom line is that This is a NEEDED element, as it presents vulnerability in a cosmetic form. In reality, While audiences may want to see it happen, that is beside the point of it. Said point being that the characters are near naked, and otherwise defenseless. While it may be pleasing to an audiences eyes, the fact remains that if anyone found themselves in that state of undress during a crisis that could cost them their lives in reality... they would feel heavily disadvantaged.
That's what this game needs right now, and being that it's a Mature rated game, I don't see any further reason to neglect it. ..Much like how I feel about how BHVR treats Gore in this game, but that's a different discussion that will mostly bemoan them for being a bunch of wimps despite making a mature rated Horror themed game.

Spirit should be the standard of all our killers, just enough clothing to prevent us from getting banned in some weird country, but enough skin to satiate our inner degeneracy. I would pay for Spirit Drip on Bubba. You hear that Behavior? Cha ching $$$

The more ho a survivor dresses the the more I wanna see them out of the game as quickly as possible. Not everything in life needs to revolve around or include sex.

I don't really believe its cringe as much as its meant to follow horror tradition. Again, yes, while some people may think of it purely for the sexual overtones and such, the bottom line remains that it's a staple of horror culture, and as I stated in the post, a means of creating tension by hitting us in a very real and very intimate sense of our deepest fears... being in a state of undress and vulnerable to predators. To me that is the most disturbing aspect of the horror genre, how it gets under your skin and makes you feel uncomfortable. This could easily be done in the game, and stand as a tribute to the great horrors that inspired it, but no, apparently, you'd think that it'd make the game, a Mature rated game, something that only appeals to horny teenagers. sigh, There's just nothing I can do against that mindset.

Irony is the wrong term for it, if at best you could've gone for "satire", and I would've respected you for it. Overall though, no, this is neither. It's not a joke, and is intended to promote discussion over something that is and always has been a staple of the horror genre that has been conspicuously absent from a game which takes ALL of it's inspiration and even some Characters. Overall, I don't see why this shouldn't be a thing in the game. It's a Mature rated game, exposed skin literally = vulnerability in both the movies and in this game, and above all, it's appealing to the audience.
Choosing a Bikini skin may result in a quicker death, but hey, you'll die looking sexy for the audience right? Where's the Irony in that?

I don't watch Horror to get off, I watch them for the intensity, the stories, and either to laugh at how miserable they are, or get scared... a little skin in them only matters if it's tasteless, otherwise if it's in a terrifying context I don't get distracted by it. Methinks you only watch crappy/tasteless horror, of which there are plenty, but if you are watching the decent to really good ones and still getting off on the disturbing nature of them... that is a cause for worry.

Easy, Halloween. While the sex scene and nudity in it were brief, they also lead to a deadly situation of sheer vulnerability that The Shape took full advantage of. There was nothing about either nudity/sex the scene that was tasteless, and left you as the viewer feel uncomfortable about getting frisky without locking your doors. Even Alien had Ripley dress down to her underwear when she thought she was safe, and that lead to an incredibly uncomfortable sense of vulnerability when the aforementioned Alien showed up in the final act.
If you want Tasteless nudity, there's plenty of examples made by the more trashy slasher/horror films, but for the most part the late 70's to mid 80's used it properly to make the characters feel more vulnerable.
The most modern examples of it used properly I would say were in Midsommar, or even more impactfully in the VVitch, in which the main character strips naked when she finally succumbs to the darkness, and if anyone thought that moment was something they should get off on... they might need some therapy.
