Why do (some) killers go out of their way...
Just played against a pinhead that would never m1 a person in a snowman and would just put chains on you then walk away.
Like.... we're trying to participate in an event, have fun, and get cosmetics. Who hurt these people to make them so anti-fun? What's the point of being so sweaty to people trying to get cosmetics?

Everyone has a different idea of what being fun is.
Some enjoy being a Grinch. Some enjoy standing at gates tbaggging and clicking.

He's fishing just leave him be >:(
2 -
Possibly frustration after a point with survivors getting a toy to play with that their "valid" interaction is only "hit".
2 -
On fathers chapel? Just wondering cause i had one 2 games ago do that.

The only ones having fun are survivor players. To be fair, killer players got nothing out of this event besides a few useless trinkets and having to deal with another extra health/chance for the survivors.
7 -
Who is fishing? that's a weird conclusion to come to.
I genuinely am curious why some people are such grouches during an event where people are trying to unlock cosmetics
0 -
The pinhead who would just hook you and leave.

I am happy to participate. The weird thing is survivors don't seem to want to stay in the snowman while I chainsaw it with Bubba.
1 -
That might be friendliness and acknowledgement without attacking. I would personally assume most players have their cosmetics at this point and don't need to be hit out of the snowmen - hitting them out stops whatever fun they were having in there. Now that the initial part of the event is over... as killer, it's difficult to tell if the survivor wants the bonus bloodpoints or if they want to goof off in a snowman costume.
1 -
Some people are very bitter about the event basically being non existent for killers.
2 -
My guess is that he's trying to smurf his MMR down. I wouldn't take it personally - 2 days in and I've already got all the cosmetics.

Speak for yourself. The event has been benefiting me on killer side. Good ol Nemesis can whip survivors and tier up, and they can't do anything about it. Plus the event has made Clown actually decent, with the Exposed bottles add on.
1 -
I'm actually just regurgitating the MANY posts complaining about the event from the killer's perspective. So no, I'm not speaking for just myself.
0 -
Ah gotcha. Was hella confused for a second
0 -
Yeah you're right. Killers let every single thing in the game bother them, rather than use new mechanics to their advantage.
0 -
I wonder if you were that sweaty one shot clown my friends and I played against earlier today LOL
0 -
I dunno, if they only do a few games a day, there's a ton of cosmetics to get through.
0 -
That would be a fair assumption for people who play nothing but DBD but I have other games to play and a full time teaching job during the week so I only play a couple of hours on the weekends. Plus if i see you coming down a hallway at Midwich, point at you, hop in a snowman and walk towards you, it's safe to assume I'm playing for the cosmetic LOL

Nah that wasn't me. I just seen a video about how Clown is benefitting from the event. I play Nemesis and Huntress. Lately been giving bird lady a try. So far liking her, but her lunge seems janky sometimes.

What advantage are you speaking of? I've found zero for killer side.
2 -
I mentioned two advantages in my previous comment. Maybe read what I say, before coming at me.

He said that the one shot clown bottles still give the effect if they hit someone in a snowman

Some killers have a slight advantage from the event. Some get nothing. A good few (Ghostface, Legion, Twins) have their kits completely broken by the snowmen - which remove Mark and Deep Wound.
It would be one thing if survivors were just having fun and memeing around but 9/10 groups I've faced over the past few days are using them as a pseudo-BT or a pretty nasty bodyblock tool.
Nobody is coming at you.
People are just disagreeing with you.
If you are a Ghostface or a Legion main, yeah - you'd be pretty annoyed at this event. This clearly wasn't tested properly.

What? I read what he said. That's still nowhere near a fair trade off for what survivors get.
1 -
Thank you! I don't know where he's getting this idea that someone is coming after him just because we disagree. Ridiculous. Especially since he replied to my post first. Someone looking to start drama.

"Speak for yourself. The event has been benefiting me on killer side. Good ol Nemesis can whip survivors and tier up, and they can't do anything about it. Plus the event has made Clown actually decent, with the Exposed bottles add on."
Also any perk that requires basic and/or secondary attacks will activate by hitting a snowman, that has a survivor inside. Most of the time, you can smack the survivor before they can even get fully in the snowman, and they get hindered, because of it. You aren't looking for advantages to the event. Only wanting to complain.

I think you're the one looking to start drama and complain. You can't seem to grasp the concept of not everyone is going to agree with you. On that note, continue on.

It's called adapting to new mechanics. If your killer isn't benefitting from the event, play a different killer, or wait until the event is over. Its only a temporary thing. And Legion mains should be used to getting screwed anyways, being the weakest killer in the game, that is. Feral Frenzy all 4 survivors, and then be a M1 killer the rest of the match.

Dude, knock it off. Nobody started getting narky until you decided to stir the pot.
Yes - some killers get a small advantage, although nothing like the advantage survivors get when they use these cleverly.
The person you are speaking to is using a Legion avatar. Before holding forth like that - consider that his likely main has their kit completely broken by the snowmen, which is either a bug or a massive oversight.
I really don't get the white knighting here. The Halloween event demonstrated that BHVR can do an event that is fun and interesting for both sides. There is no excusing the bizarre interaction between the snowmen and Ghostface/Legion abilities.
I...honestly hope you are just baiting now.
'It's totally fine for x killer to have their kit broken by the event because that killer is already weak' is...quite the take.
It's also interesting how you've switched from 'the event benefits killers, no really just git gud' to 'well, the event screws some killers over, but it's totally fine - they can just not play the killer they want to or quit'.
By this logic - why bother testing anything?
Bloody hell...

I love the whole play a different killer argument it really feels great to tell someone to play something different from a character they love and spent money on must be nice
I personally play slinger so I'm not to bothered by the event cause he ignores snowman but I'm not gonna act like it can't be struggle vs characters such as trapper
2 -
I've provided you with information of how to play with the new mechanics. You can choose to listen them, or not. I could care less. The event doesn't bother me in the slightest. So yeah dude, I'm not complaining. Surivors fooling around with snowmen, aren't working on gens. That's actually a good thing.

If I saw that, I'd probably play along, shake my head, and run away from you because I'd think you were trying to be funny and chase me. You'd have to do something like jump out, shake your head at me, and beckon me to the next snowman for me to cotton on.
There's really no surefire way of telling what a person wants in this game, and ultimately there's 10 unlocks and still 11 more days to get them. Obtaining them all will not be a problem. Most killers will hit you if you get in a snowman, especially if you jump into one during chase (just make sure to be far enough away for the animation to complete.) I'd personally assume most of the people that are ignoring snowmen are doing it to be goofy, not to grief. And as far as intentional griefing goes, I think letting a survivor wander around and do whatever they want rates pretty low on the list.
3 -
It's couldn't care less and you may not be complaining but you are stirring ######### on the forums looking to start an argument.
1 -
I've had to change killers, that I loved to play, because of meta changes, making the killers not so great anymore. It's just ######### that happens with this game. Complaining about a temporary event is pretty pointless, when there's ways to play still. Even changing up your perks, on the killers, that are bad against snowmen, can benefit those killers. Any perk that requires a basic and/or special attack, activates when hitting a snowman.
0 -
Actually I was trying to help you out, so you can enjoy the event also. Sometimes you have to adapt to changes in the game, and when it comes to this event, that adaptation would only last, what, like a week?
0 -
If 'how to play the new mechanics' means 'just quit or don't play your main' then...yeah, you're basically agreeing with us that BHVR messed this one up.
And no, survivors aren't running to snowmen instead of doing gens. Survivors are using these as another defensive tool/'tech' (see: exploit) that also happens to glitch out certain killer abilities.
In the 50 odd games I've played in this event so far, I've seen literally one survivor using a snowman outside of this, and that's when I let a duo escape after someone rage DC'd.

personally, if I was completely screwed over, I'd pretty much have to sit the event out. "In the middle of the event, start grinding perks up on someone else to the point of viability"... nah.
Being left out by a fun seasonal event you couldn't see coming due to bad mechanics testing isn't the same as extreme power nerfs/meta shifts--at least the PTB means we get some warning that's coming.
3 -
I think this may qualify for prosecution as 'abuse of the common comma'...
There is a difference between a meta change that nerfs your favorite killer slightly and a bug/exploit/oversight that completely breaks your killer. Why are you defending a bug?
Shouldn't BHVR be expected to test/fix stuff like this?
2 -
I still play slinger after the nerfs I would never drop my main just because they aren't meta that's ridiculous and their is others out there like me
Like I said the event doesn't bother me but my twin exclusively plays trapper and he's already run into squads that use it just like old mettle of man using it exclusively to block doors at shack and block hooks almost entirely just to immediately make it to the next loop they don't even want the cosmetics they just want to be annoying I've seen it with my own eyes
So I'm not gonna pretend like it doesn't exist, there is no way to mind game that it's either hit the snowman or don't get through the door

Who cares about them honestly?
Let them be a Grinch. Play the match like normal, and move on to the next one. Not all killers are doing this.
I for one think that players who get in the snowmen get in the worst possible positions making the match easier for me. So if somebody wants to not take advantage of that, then loop them like normal. I'm sure they will have a ball.

The post escalated and derailed hella quickly. I remember why I stopped coming to the forums like a year ago XD

This honestly feels more like someone trying to smurf their MMR down without making it obvious than someone annoyed about the snowmen.
I'd understand being annoyed if this was obvious BM or if the event wasn't ridiculously easy to earn literally everything from it.

Mmhmm

All it takes is one person with a bad attitude.
2 -
Do they get tournamented this way? If so, tx for sharing.
0 -
That's fine if people don't like the event, but why take it out on people that didn't do anything? It's not our fault that they are unhappy.
0 -
I think many killers are just grumpy over the event and I get it the first day I had two games I could stop laughing cause we all had fun and where vibing I alway try to ensure that every one gets there event stuff.
But the event is kinda stupid for killers sure some killers get a small benefit from the snowman but does this mean it's oke other killer power get completely destroyed? I am a legion main and let me tell if playing them wasn't bad enough they sure managed to make it worse same for ghosty and the twins I mean come on they really found a way to make playing twins even worse.
And don't you dare telling me now to just play the killers that are good at dealing with the snowman cause last time I checked I was paying my self for my chars but it is greatly appreciated if you someone else is going to do that from now on

yeah I notice killers doing that alot last night. while me as ghostie, tbagging the snowmen tryna be friends with it
