Does anyone else feel like Demo's power got reworked during development?
Looking at Demo's addons makes me think that maybe you initially couldn't teleport between portals, but that the upsidedown was closer to a plane that you could interact with.
Maybe survivors could even enter it?

I've seen a few theories and rumors here and there that his power had a certain "Old Freddy" touch to it.
He would only interact with Survivors once they were in the upside down, while remaining invisible to those who he hadn't pulled yet. Unlike Freddy and his lullaby, Survivors would be alerted to his presence by blinking lights in the trial.
It is unknown if the Upside Down would have the same benefits the Dream World had, such as action speed penalty or aura reveal.
But then again, these are just theories and rumors.
