The Artist is a severe disappointment
I had great hopes for this killer but after playing several games on her I can say with certainty that she's yet another weak killer with no actual power in chase.
The biggest gripe is how easy it is to repel her crows and how long it takes to chain two hits together just to even deal damage on her. The worst aspect however - and that's the thing which makes her borderline unplayable to me - is the fact that her power gets DISABLED whenever she's close to a hook. And this happens without a survivor even being on it.
This is absolutely awful, all it takes to completely shut down this killer's power is to run past one of several hooks on the map. I see no reason in playing her anymore until this issue gets addressed.

I'm personally very satisfied with her. A good Killer with counterplay, tho she is a bit map dependent

She's not. Easy to understand, fun to play and very strong.

I don't think she is weak but i do have to say that i can't make her work at all.
If i purelly go from my personal experience then i would rate her as one of the worst killers.
Seeing other people play quickly disproves this ofcourse but in my hands she's terrible.
Maybe it's a simular thing with you

what is her counterplay that isn't just hold W?. Im not even saying she's op but she has the same problem as nem and deathslinger where she's not OP but not exactly interactive to go against.

She is still loopable, it's just not as easy as other Killers. She is like PH and a bit like Nurse, a ranged attack that goes though walls but can be countered by ShiftW or having unpredictable movements while out of line of sight. I personally enjoy going against Killers like Artist because she isn't pure 1v1, she has a 1v4 aswell and that's more enjoyable imo. It isn't the usual boring hold M1 on gens

Not all killers need to be broken to be used. If everyone was running Blight or Nurse then the game would get stale real quick. Like you I’ve seen some Artist players that really struggled but also some that put in some work. I guess one thing that’s cool about her as a killer is she’s not too add-on dependent. They assist but they aren’t game breaking.

Hoping the killer messes up isn't exactly what I call "counterplay" but sure you do you. Also, her 1v4 isn't exactly amazing either but if that's what you enjoy

Just gonna say this; Using all 3 crows mid-chase is not worth it unless you are harassing survivors at gens. The cooldown for 3 crows used is longer than the base repel time.
For in-chase use, use 1 crow to swarm the survivor, and then follow up accordingly with an M1, or 1/2 crows at most. Keep in mind that you get wallhacks for a short moment, meaning that if they get distance on you, you can zone them into not taking specific routes. If they don’t leave the loop, you might just be able to shut it down as if playing Trapper or Hag. Windows in particular can become deathttraps, so long as your placement is good.

She is alright, I am having a bunch of fun playing her. It is a killer that for the most part feels like your skill, timing and that of the survivors actually matter.
To chain 2 crow shots in a chase you must shoot them 1 by 1 unless they vault, pallet drop, etc. Then you can do a 1 followed up by 2 sometimes 3. The window to hit your second shot is short. (This is assuming you aren't using her best addons)
Her power works near hooks and is only disabled when you placed a survivor on it. Not sure why you think that it is not the case.
The most frustrating aspect is more the map verticality even slight elevations sometimes messes her up.

I don’t know how good or bad she is overall, but that’s an interesting point about crows not being able to be placed within 10 meters of a hook regardless of whether a survivor is on it. It could be a reasonable tweak to only apply that restriction on hooks that actively have a survivor on them.

You can 100% use your power around hooks which don't have anyone on, otherwise her power would be useless.
She's very solid, easily a top 10 killer.

She's absolutely my favorite killer at the moment. She's strong and fun to play. It seems people still don't know how she works. Easily a top 5 killer imo. I may change my mind in the future if people actually get used to her, but currently she is incredibly good.

Do crows get repelled quickly? Yes but thats about my only gripe besides elevation screwing her. Honestly she def in top 10 and i heard her compared to legion and almost died choking on my coffee.

Calling Artist top 10 is not really the flex you think it is guys
Considering that being outside the top 5 in this game basically means you aren't viable against good survivors.
Think about who is in the top 10 in this game. Characters like Doctor are in the top 10 in some debates.
The top 5 is usually somewhere with Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Hag, Huntress. The next top 5 are something like PH, Oni. Then you get a MASSIVE dip in killer power. Plague, Wraith, Doctor, Bubba. These are the killers you care lumping artist with. Wraith, Plague and Doctor. I wouldn't call those 3 good killers by any stretch of the imagination.
This game has a cataclysm sized power difference between the actual good killers and the rest of the cast, and everyone seems content that Artist is a decent B tier killer in a game where even the S tier killers played to absolute perfection still lose a majority of their games.

Yeah, she's also better than launch nurse WHEN SHE WAS 115% MOVEMENT, ######### is your point. Not being the worst killer to release does not make it a good release killer.

She's fine. Either low 'A' tier or high 'B'.
Her addons are mostly crap though, especially her purples and iris.
