Hag traps BHVR I beg you

As someone who enjoys playing hag I beg you to make it so survivors can't destroy your traps with flashlights. My reasons being that if I am dealing with a group of swf, could just be two could be all 4 though, who have flashlights I cant use my power. I can't set up because I have someone following me with a flashlight to destroy them and when I chase them I have another one of the group to keep me from using my traps on a loop or a chase. Then they just switch if I chase the other. If I ignore them and go after someone who's working on a gen and they just rotate out. It would be nice if they'd actually have to actively put themselves in danger to cause issues. I like playing hag but in that situation you only get to play if the survivors let you. I mean the survivors can already crouch past them so they don't need to flashlight destroy them.

But then I have to adapt my build which is ok I guess but then I can't meme build as effectively, and last minute switches prevent that but I've never been one to dodge. I never really had a problem with the mechanic until stuff like that happened.

    A few thoughts:

    • I love it when teams do this. It takes me less time to poop another one out than it takes them to cleanse, and it tells me where they are.
    • They'll rapidly deplete their flashlights.
    • 3+ items in a lobby = Franklins.

Sometimes I just bring Franklin's on a killer even if I don't see items in the lobby for the hell of it--you'd be surprised how often this works out.

It’s one of the reasons I stopped playing Hag. She suffers more from a good SWF than some of the other killers. They start they’re flashlight magic and it gets even worse than having one or two in the group intentionally setting off traps as you setup while gens are getting done. Probably not as big of an issue on PC but it can be problematic on console.

I'm a certified Hag man, and what I'll usually try to do vs this is:

    • 'Hide' traps around corners, on stairs, under vaults and in areas where they won't see them until they trigger.
    • Rely heavily on multi-trapping hooked survivors.

Flashlights aren't too bad (honestly, Wraith has it so much worse against souped up multi-flashlight SWFs) and they'll run out of juice pretty fast unless there are 3. CoH is way more of an embuggerance when I play Hag.

Granted, I'm probably not facing quite as high quality SWFs as you are though.

This is actually a really good suggestion!

I am fine with flashlights destroying hag traps, I even think every killer power should have an interaction with flashies.

But it should take longer to disarm them. Not as long as a light-burn but they shouldn't be removeable by just a click

    No mercy for hag!

Thing I always thought was really random even if I like the idea is the Wraith being stunned when you flashlight him in invis... Like he's not nearly strong enough to randomly give this debuff to him lol

I get that I do the same, I refer to when the survivors start harassing you on the get go so you literally can't put traps down without them being destroyed.

I think it's kind of odd for some killers to just have a flashlight counter slapped on them. It's really odd, especially because in my nurse games I have never been lightburned, don't even know why she can be.

Looking at DBD’s wiki the flashlight and crouching Hag counters were not how she originally released, they were patched In later because of survivors complaining she was too OP. 😑 so i doubt they’ll go back on that decision after so long.

As annoying as clicky clicky flashlights squads are there are ways around it.

never placing your traps in front of them.

placing traps in hard to see locations like grassy areas or corners of doorways. The trap radius is big enough that you don’t have to place them in a direct view of a path (also trap radius outlines are visible after placing them).

adapting play style away from insta teleporting to every tripped traps (good survivors know how to annoy you by tripping traps to get Agro away from teammates)

never chase as Hag when it means leaving your trapped area.

I love Hag, as my main her counters are annoying but create a unique and fun challenge when dealing with survivors who know how to counter her. My issue is mainly with many of her addons, which do very little to aid her. Some of which are completely debilitating to her power.

Instead of completely removing her counters, I think they should just tweak them a bit.

suggestions: increasing the amount of time/charges required to break a trap. That way flashlights with double battery and Built to last don’t last a decade or two.

regarding crouching, suggestion: an addon (or including the effect as part of an addon) that auras of survivors crouching within 4m of a trap are visible to the Hag. (Still can’t teleport but at least it gives a slight advantage of info if you’re near)

I always dodge lobbies with flashlights. If they find a flashlight in game it's fine, but not allowed to have them before the match start if I'm playing with hag.

Never multi trap around hooks, unless you have basement pressure. Survivors always crouch to hooks anyway when facing a hag so having just one (even if they don’t trigger it) at the very least is aimed more so to slow them down from the rescue.

in addition, survivors on coms or have kindred can see you placing them all so it’s a waste of time and resources.

place your one trap around that then go on and apply pressure somewhere else. Unless basement, never facecamp basement just set some traps then proxy camp for pressure.

I was there when she was first released and honestly I prefer her now, oh boy those addons. I used to main hag, till I got tired of bring looped, I still play her with regularity because she is one of the few killers with good originality in her power and she is super fun. Like I said

I don't on a regular basis have any reservations on the counter because it's rather niche but when you can't set up or use her ability it is unfun, not that you can't work around or still kill them it's just very arduous.

Lobby dodge or Franklins if you see flashlights. Good SWFs don't need flashlights they counter Hag by playing smart and gen rush works very well against slow killers. Hag could be buffed in other ways instead.

Lmao I wish. The concept of 110% speed killers died a long time ago, I think more are 115%, especially all the recent killers this last year?

they buffed her waterlogged shoe to make you a 115% speed killer but the fact that it removes your ability to teleport is just so unfun. Making her a base M1 killer as an iridescent addon 😑

I’ve made soooo many posts begging for addon changes on her with very reasonable suggestions. I can only hope one day they listen 😩

I find it especially odd to have it on very weak killers like Wraith

Like why is this randomly on him when he's already bad? I think the mechanic is interesting but he shouldn't be so damn weak with such a strong counter to him. Playing wraith against flashbangs can be torture lol

at least they could make it longer to destroy, forcing them to spend more of their flashlight charges....
