What do you think the new Killer for Chapter 23 could be?
Leaks and rumors tell that the new Killer may have an ability that has to do with fire. Hot fire. Like burning building hot.

I'd LIKE a demon but, I feel like it's probably going to have something to do with maybe Firehighter that has gone off the rails and started committing arsine or something of that nature.

I actually had a theory we'd get a killer with a fire shtick.
the other things on my "wishlist" include:
a gender nonconforming survivor/killer.
a killer who's shtick is exposure to cold.
a weeping angel/ersatz weeping angel.

If you Google Chapter 23 killer rumor there’s one going around it’s fire related for some reason (not sure why exactly and I have no idea if it’s true or not 🤷♂️)
Whether it’s true or not, a fire based killer could be ok, it’s certainly a theme they haven’t explored yet. Powers could range from lobbing fire bolts to breathing streams of fire like a flamethrower to laying down flaming patches on the ground that injure survivors who walk over them. And just generally speaking fire effects can look pretty sweet.
I’ve been thinking Chapter 23 might be a licensed killer, since we’re about due for one, but who knows? Could be anything really.

I would like to see their take on a killer that used fire.
also, we do already have two licenses for this year, Resident Evil and Hellraiser. So it’s most likely original and the anniversary chapter might be licensed.

I'm guessing they are about to be between a monstrous creature and a human.
If fire is their power it means the survivors will have something they must use to be healed. I like side objectives.

Right but Chapter 23 is next March or so I think, so by the time it comes out it will have been six months since Hellraiser came out.

The devs said they aim to have at least half of their content be original content over licensed though. So 3 licensed chapters in one year is very unlikely (though still kinda possible, especially considering last year had 1 licensed chapter and 3 original ones; also Hellraiser was only a killer and the Midchapter introduced a new original survivor…)

Shmuckles was the one that posted up a few videos about those rumors that it was a fire based chapter, the information came from DBDLeaks Discord or something if I remember correctly, but long story short it was confirmed to be a hoax and the rumors (at least as we heard them) are false. He posted as much in a written post on YT.
Although despite this, I've been wanting an original fire based chapter long before these recent rumors started floating around. Ever since I saw HybridPanda's video on a speculated chapter 13 "Rise from the Ashes" posted in 2019. The idea was of a Firefighter Killer who could leak flammable gas around the map and then ignite it, affecting survivors with a new "burned" status effect.
"My initial instinct upon spotting it was to cry out in joy, an emotion I can no longer conjure to my voice. But suppressing that instinct was the deliberately taught suspicion of all hope. Wandering in the fog, I saw a mountainous man, dressed in fire fighting equipment. A hero I thought then, here maybe to rescue any number of us. I proved wise to suspend my joy, as I shadowed him and laid witness to the extent of his supernatural ability. His appearance was some cruel, ironic trickery and he began billowing smoke that formed into a copy of himself, shadowing him as I did."

It was a fake leak that got a little bit of traction. Can't blame OP for speculating on it.
And regardless, an original fire chapter would still be super cool, and I'll be anticipating one in the future. As per my original post:
