I'm excited, and I'm guessing @TheGannMan is absolutely losing it right now, but I'm not sure why they didn't just make a legendary skin.

Well. Aesthetic-wise yes. But power-wise, Samara doesn’t ‚phase‘ like Spirit, but she comes to through the television? Iirc. I only watched it once and probably confuse it with the Scary Movie parody

Samara’s modus operandi was basically cursing people to die after a while. Watch a video, die seven days later. It’ll be interesting to see if they try and do some sort of curse game mechanic for her ability where she marks a survivor and a while later something bad happens.
Or they could do it kind of like a Medusa idea I’ve posted about where if you watch her then you’re cursed so you have to try not to look at her. (Ooh, his could get interesting if they give her something really unique!)

Grudge and Ring were very slow "ghosts" - don´t see spirit similarities.

I'm glad they're doing the real Sadako instead of letting it be with the "inspired by" version we have now. At least now they're forced to use her original sounds. No waaaahs.

I can't for the life of me see a little girl getting slammed over the head with wooden pallets lol.
I doubt the devs are ever going to make another rule-breaking killer like nurse so maybe she will have some sort of proxy-monster to chase with? Something more Trapper-esque?
