uhm. Okay… but legendary skins are exactly meant to be additional characters that just don’t bring their own perks….
also we don’t even know if they will actually introduce the book version or the version from the movie. And I bet there will be people saying Sadako wouldn’t count as well because licensed characters don’t count 🤷♂️

Well if you're counting a licensed Killer as the first one, then I don't see why the Chatterer and CryptTV killers wouldn't count.
If your argument is about the first non-legendary skin Killer, then she still wouldn't be the first. Freddy Krueger has been in the game for four years.
EDIT: Since people are misconstruing my comment, let me clarify. I did not say Kreuger is 'representation' (good or otherwise), I said he's an LGBT+ character who has been in the game for years. I've mentioned before that this fact is pretty gross to think about (can't find the comment in my post history though, so I'm thinking the original post was deleted which isn't a surprise), but it is a fact.

edit because of your edit: No it is not a fact that Feeddy is LGBT. There is nothing in the movie or lore supporting this. All we know is that he is implied to be a pedophile which is a significant difference to being LGBT

I know he abused Quentin but sexual history=/=sexual preference, and child predators tend to take what they can get so to speak so I'm skeptical that hea actually LGBT.

I really really feel you should have added something to designate a spoiler here for those who haven't read the books. It's kinda a big plot point in the book (mind you, also portrayed in a really negative way) and is not discussed in the movies at all.

There's so many things wrong with this.
1) LGBT+ representation is coming, and has been confirmed many many times over.
2) There's already straight relationship representation, and so why is it only a problem with gay relationship representation?

Orientation has been explained often enough, but religion is also a thing in DbD.
With my very limited knowledge of Silent Hill, I do recall it having religious themes, with one line in Chery's bio IN DBD even directly mentioning the big man himself.

And the great news is we're just fighting for equality at this point so we either delete the lore starting from Nurse or we accept that representation matters to people even if it doesn't to you personally and accept that it exists.

This is Freddy from the remake. In the remake it was implied that he was a p*do yes, but never directly mentioned, same as in the dbd lore.
I'm also pretty sure demo's gender was never mentioned in ST.

Seriousness for a minute - as I already know which way this thread will go otherwise. We're having representation in DbD, it's being worked on with GaymerX, representation is important to many, many people, and if it's not important to you - great, am happy for you. But nobody doubt why representation is important to others on this thread - you can read back through the many threads we've had on this forum and that will help you understand why representation is so important - and also the link put by Mooks, that explains it better than I can.

Thing is, being part of and being representation of are different thing. You have a ton of christian pastors who dont represent the religion, but are still christian. You have police officers who dont represent the police force, but were still part of the force untill they were released of their duty.
Let alone that plenty of killers on this roster have done horrible acts that should not represent anything.
Freddy is LGBT, by our own definition. That doesnt mean he represents it.

As for pedophilia being a sexual orientation or not is somewhat up for debate, because its not something they choose or have control over(by our definition of sexual orientation, it would check all marks).
The biggest reason we call it a disorder is because the person of interest cannot legally or morally consent. And acting upon it is an irrational, immoral and illegal decision.
So again, one doesnt exclude the other here. Just because you personally do not agree with a position, doesnt mean its not true.
As for putting pedophillia into lgbt, no, no one would, neither would zoophillia. As LGBT contains all non-heterosexual orientations involving consenting adults. But you can be LGBT and paraphillic at the same time, they are not necessarily mutually exclusive(some are, ofcourse).

Now, if we're talking social consensus, it's a different topic entirely. But by social consensus, homophillia was considered paraphillia not that long ago either. Which is why I personally dont really go by social consensus on topics like this. Because any argument today against paraphillia are either exactly like or extremely similar to arguments held against homophillia. Doesnt mean its any less or more true, mind you, just that its not really a solid floor to stand on.

One doesn’t exclude the other may very well be true. But all we know about Freddy is him being a implied to be a pedophile. And thus he is not part of LGBTQ+ as far as we know.
and it’s not only my personal take. The LGBTQ+ community has distanced itself from including pedophilia and other paraphilia.
also I might have a different definitions of sexual orientation here than you and i don’t know if there is an official one… but pedophilia should definitely not be called a sexual orientation imo.
