Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

How do you have fun in Dead By Daylight?

I've been getting kind of bored with DBD lately and want to take a break from my usual gameplay to try new things with the game.

How do you have fun in Dead By Daylight?

I use online perk roulettes and randomizers to pick what I bring in my build/what my win condition will be for that match.

I've had some really strange games with weird plays I never thought possible because of this lol.

I generally keep things fresh by:

    • Learning new killers. I'm now pretty decent on Myers, Pinhead (RIP), Artist and Pig - adding to my usual stable of Demo, Plague and Hag.
    • Trying new builds on killers. Discovered a genuinely evil build on Demo recently doing this.
    • Sometimes switching to survivor.
    • Setting my own goals in games. For example - if I'm getting slaughtered, I'll try to hook everyone once. If I'm stomping, I'll insist on hooking everyone twice before killing them.
    • Trying to focus on scaring survivors.

I'm using a perk roulette with a random challenge attached to it, with a random item as well. I find it fun when it's not too serious and the game is actually going good for me.

Trying new characters or playing with characters i rarely touch, as well as switching between roles.

Also playing with a friend or two can cheer you up.

    It depends.

If I get really bored, I'll start creating silly builds and play with them.

I once went a to z in perks.

Another time, I created builds based on the character's lore or they way I saw them. They would have at least one of the original perks and I'd match the rest with what I found suitable but not gameplay wise, personality.

I have a gift-giving build and I go looking for teammates and presenting them with items. If I find a key, I take it to the entrance of the basement and run up and down making sure all the items I find are there.

Sometimes, the game or matches can get very repetitive, so I play my own game.

I do dailies and play Killers that I like and some Survivor

Except for sacrifice dailies... I don't like those

Honestly, this sounds like a 90s era video game commercial slogan. Lol.

I find perk synergies that are fun, focus on earning bp, learn new ways to navigate maps during chases and try to predict others' intentions, and conceal my own.

Don’t force yourself to play it. Take breaks if you are bored (or stressed) by it.

    You don't.

    Not anymore.

Fun perks and tome challenges, honestly. Also I like stacking up bloodpoints for huge perks shopping sprees, and saving shards for new outfit pieces.

After a while you just need to make your own fun. If you aren't enjoying your time, forcing yourself will just make you dislike the game more.

Personally I always play whatever killer I have a daily mission for that night for a few games. I don’t play much more than that which probably helps avoid burn out.

I’ve also been out of town the last couple weeks and have been playing around on DbD mobile on my iPad. It’s pretty solid except that the controls are waaaay harder to use on tablet. (You move with a virtual stick with your left thumb, and can adjust the camera with your right thumb, and also need your right thumb to do attacks and use abilities. But that means when you want to use an ability or attack you can’t simultaneously be turning the camera which means a lot of instances where you’re just not facing the way you want to be facing. It’s super frustrating!) It is free to download and play so it’s worth checking out if you want to try and play DbD on the go or in custom matches against bots, etc, but I don’t know if I’ll stick with it because of the controls.

Switch between different killers/survivors, Perks too, Sometimes items. And there is this thing where I mix up cosmetics and pretend that Im a character from a Show/Movie/Game I like :)

I mean that's how I personally do it, And take breaks if nothing works for you, I just returned to the game after a 6 month break and it's pretty fun, Probably because I haven't played it in a long time and it feels like a brand new game

I don't anymore. I get a few games against people that are just afraid of everything and clean house. Then I get the meta squads with lights. I feel bad for stomping people with one or two yellow perks then I feel stupid for trying. Maybe if I don't hook anyone until everyone is down. Something says I'll feel like a dick for that too.

I just play and do whatever when playing killer and survivor try to win if I can and if not whelp on to the next round and just run meme builds 24 7 instead of serious builds so I'm not in the super top mmr for killer and Survivor well it doesn't matter cause it's now just so chill now and not very intimidating sometimes but, the chases are great hence I prefer being tunneled and just humor the killer camping.
