Grrr... Rotten Fields...
I'm sorry, but why on Earth is this a map? Who thought that putting a killer shack in a middle of a huge cornfield with a lot of pallets on the outside was a good idea?
I've gotten this map twice in a row as both Trickster and Huntress and boy was that a nightmare. Can't see worth crap through the corn and it's easy to lose survivors in said corn. Then when you finally manage to find them they're already at one of many pallets that are outside of the cornfield.
Needless to say I got a 0k both of those matches because the game decided to send me to a badly flawed map that shouldn't exist in the first place.
(Sorry if this is sort of a rant, but I hate this map with a burning passion)

Within the field I always look to the ground and just follow the scratch marks.. And my headphones feature an amazing dolby surround so, depending on how close I am to the survivor I'm chasing, I can rely on my hearing.

I don’t see why people have such issues with these maps. Since the reworks they are MUCH brighter so you can actually see the damn maps. Thompson house I can understand since well it’s Thompson house. But like how is Rotten fields any different from Shelter woods?

It’s the corn that annoys me personally. There’s something super frustrating about not being able to see anything at all in an open corn field that makes those maps my least favorite by far.

Cornmaps are just awful and i mean all of them. There is a reason why sweaty survivors still love to drop Heart Locket. You can't even stalk through the corn when there is a survivor literally 5 meters in front of you. Ranged 4.4m/s killers have a even harder time with these hay bundle loops where they need to run 10 rounds around a pallet because they can't use their power.

I can understand corn blocks POV and what not. But If there wasn’t corn then the maps would just be old blood lodge where you can see the ENTIRE map from wherever.

Rotten fields is pretty average statistically (lethality across all killers used as benchmark). On the other hand this realm has 2 out of bottom-5 killer maps - thomspon's house and fractured cowshed.

Where'd you hear that? The last time they released map statistics, Rotten Fields was near the top of survival rates - if not the highest.

The Farm maps in general really mess with me because of the brightness. I really struggle to see red auras on them, which isn't -that- big of a deal as Survivor, but is awful as Killer. I could change my colourblind settings, but I already have the colourblind settings I need for every other map, so I don't want to change them again -just- for Coldwind.
Also corn.

Rotten Fields has been changed/nerfed twice since those stats.

A combo of my 1.5-2k recorded games plus (partially incorrect) memories of officially released stats from 2019-2020 season. I've looked it up and you are right, rotten fields reigns as top1 there.
In my personal stat-book it's #9, while most of the other maps show similar figures to worldwide performance data from bhvr.

I hate corn. It doesn't respond at all to people moving through it which would at least give great audio feedback, it blocks ability line of sight, it interferes with anything that needs aim, it hides scratchmarks and blood unless you're literally on top of them...
Bonus points for a tile being able to spawn with a survivor-sized gap in the tree and rest of the loop. I hope you like bloodlusting the dumb circle with the last survivor.
