Will "RINGU" bring back horror in DBD?

I say this because the rings movie always use to frighten me as a child lol, it was just always something about her long hair, dress, and weird movements that got me the most. I could potentially see this chapter as being scary or frightening, but if done right? The killers in DBD now are more of a fun haha type of killers rather then scary in my opinion, put it this way DBD is not scary at all in certain situations and im just being honest. If they came out with more scary horror creepy killers like the ring i would think it could bring back horror. Maybe even make the maps a little more creepier and scarier. idk this is just what i think -- hopefully it can bring me bck to my childhood days

EG: Tombstone piece Myers (Though IMO the edge case situation of never being stalked by or even seeing Myers but then suddenly getting insta-tiered n' Killed is a valid complaint)

Killer is already scary, it doesn't need to be even scarier

Doubt it. Horror was only present when you were new in the game maybe new players would be more horrified with the addition of this new licensed killer.

I compare DBD as a repeated horror movie, when you watch it for the first time it scares you, but if you're watching it for the tenth time the fear is gone because you already know the plot, that's pretty much it.

No... Players of this game will eventually break down everything in terms of her Power and Perks

I know that you want to recreate the horror feeling that you had when you first started playing, but it's impossible.

It’s really, really hard to make a video game legitimately scary, especially one that is played multiple times over and over. The best you can really hope for is tension where both sides are having what feels like a match up that could go either way, along with maybe jump scares occasionally.

As far as Sadako goes in Ringu, I’m sure she’ll look the part. 🙂 A lot rides on the details of the game mechanics in terms of how fun and tense her matches will be, and we’ll just have to wait to find those out. I know some things I’m hoping for but who knows?

Scary doesn't last. The impact decreases once you get use to a scary situation.

    No lol

The only thing that's scary is your first 20 or so hours as survivor then this game is just violent freeze tag.

No simply because there is like no killer they can actually drop that would bring horror to dead by daylight.

The way the game is just played optimally by the survivors does not allow that to be the case. So you can have some giddy fun with your friends or by yourself getting jumpscared by Myers but actual horror no.

The fact that playing optimally encourages you to to get chased to waste The Killer's time or take hits and aggro if your teammates need it just means that the killer is not really a threat in the way of Horror at least

For a week maybe, if designed in such a way. Or longer for new players. But you can't create more horror if you are already used to it that long

I highly doubt it, The only way to make dbd even SLIGHTLY scary is by making the maps have fog & hard to see other survivors & the killer

Also something should happen when in the killer's TR other than heartbeat & music, We should have static or some visions that'll make the scary IMO

Stealthy killers still scare me! I love a killer who know's what their doing to instill fear.

    I really hope so.

I also hope we are getting creepy maps again - i don´t like this whole daylight thing.

Are you talking about the movies or the games? Because the games are honestly some of scariest things I've ever gone through in my life.

Yeah, the movies aren't great. I recommend emulating the games though, they are easy to download and a very well worth experience.

    no.

the closest thing to that that would ever work in this game would be jumpscares - and i really wouldnt consider those to be an actual horror element.

I actually disagree with this. (At least to me) PH is one of the only killers in this game that brings a genuine sense of horror into the match. Between his masterfully composed Terror Radius and chase music, very threatening attacks, extra lethality at death hooks, and strategic use of trails (if the person playing him uses him efficiently)... they all add up to how threatening he is - which is scary.

Idk man, playing as Killer is almost always terrifying
