Why Enduring got nerfed so hard?

I didn't play before the nerf, so was Enduring really an issue to be nerfed that way?

It would be cool to have Enduring aplied not only for pallets, ngl

Enduring made DS completely useless. It was absurd. Enduring would let killers tunnel on a rampage if they didn’t nerf it.

I think it was because enduring effectively negated the stun and enduring+ brutal strength was a fairly good combo perk way back when.

I wasn't around when it was nerfed so I don't know exactly what it was like but I'd imagine it was alot more popular back then than now, and I'd also imagine it was very boring to play against since Enduring encourages such a brain-off brute force playstyle that wasn't really fun for anyone involved, I can see why it was nerfed.

Enduring was changed because every time the devs created a new survivor perk that stunned killers, it was a huge pain and they were unable to balance it properly. As someone else said, Enduring made DS useless. In general, stuns were either too long without Enduring, making Enduring a requirement for killers, or stuns were too short with Enduring, making those survivor stun perks useless. So the devs updated Enduring to only work with pallet stuns while also buffing it for pallet stuns.

So to answer your question in a simpler manner: yes, it was an issue, because it made real balance between stun perks impossible.

It probably had something to do with Head On getting released.

100% faster recovery means half stun duration, so 75% faster recovery actually means you recover in 1.875 seconds as opposed to the current 1.5 seconds from pallet stuns.

It makes perfect sense when you realize the wording is dumb.

the wording is always dumb in terms of dbd maths and it makes me very sad

Keep in mind that the time period you're probably thinking of (post-rework) was back when DS was a 3 second stun. They both nerfed Enduring and buffed DS.

Enduring had 35% less stun time on Perks. 65% of 3 is 1.95. Cuts off a full second. Yes, that's kind of absurd.

65% of 5 is 3.25. Would basically turn new DS stun time into old DS stun time.

I don't see much of an issue if Enduring kept its 35% less stun time on Perks while DS has the 5 second stun.

I do think that it would be a bit of a problem with Head On, though. Head On has a 3-second stun, so yes, that'd be a bit rough.

Old Enduring made DS completely useless, so it had to be changed.
