Shouldn't Snuffing A Boon Break The Totem?
So after snuffing the boon totems shouldn't it break the totem overall since it's technically being stepped on just like the Survivors cleansing it breaks it.
If there's a change to Boons maybe this could work better like sure the radius of them is pretty big but, if the totem breaks I think this could work well IMO.

No, but I do think there should be a limited amount of times that a Boon can be relit.
2 -
Nope all the need is a 45 second cooldown after snuffing one out
3 -
It should at least have a cool-down.
6 -
Because it is so easy to spam them out.
I feel like my random teammates use more time blessing totems than working on actual objectives.
7 -
Cool down is better than some people in forums saying that you can only bless a totem once in a match and that’s it
5 -
A cooldown like DH of 40 seconds will not ruin the perk. It will however not make it the only thing some people do. You get more points for blessing a totem than repairing one gen it’s ridiculous.

Either Boon totems only last once, or Hex totems can be relit.
This garbage of Survivors having stronger totem effects, that they can light infinitely, has to go. Or makes Killer's totem perks match.
Won't happen, because Survivors are the favored players, but it should.

Yeah, Otz was talking about this the other day and I agree.
The other major issue is how ridiculously well CoH stacks with other healing perks. I've seen people heal themselves in the space of a pallet stun.
Eh, people are going to pitch a fit over it either way. CoH is the main offender here.
Boons are also strong, game changing perks the killer can't realistically counter on a lot of maps. On RPD and The Game, it'll take you significantly more time to find the thing and snuff it than it would for a survivor to just pop it up again - and the time of a killer is far more valuable than the time of 1 survivor.
And, with these projecting through floors and walls, they can cover half the map from certain positions.

I think they've actually said they will never add gen related boons, but I could either be misremembering or could turn out to be false. If they do add generator boons there will definitely need to be changes made to boons as a mechanic.
2 -
No. Gens go too damn fast as it is.
Literally, Survivors can knock out all 5 gens in the space of time it takes a Killer to find, chase, hit, chase, hit, pickup, and hook ONE SURVIVOR.
If they make gens times even half a second shorter: There will be no reason to play Killer. It will be impossible to get anything more than a 2-man kill, and that's if the Killer plays flawlessly, given the short gen speeds, and the 500 second-chance perks Survivors have, plus Cheat With Friends & voice comms giving then an added 5 awareness perks for free.
There should never, EVER be anymore perks that in any way, shape, or form, reduce gen times by even a fraction of a second.

Oh god. I'm imagining a boon totem that Blast Mine's every gen in it's aura. Gods, no. 😐️

Boons need tweaks, but not that. Their core design is fine- in fact, I'd go so far as to say that their core intended effect on the game is actually very good! The problem is that it's hard for their current implementation to really give that kind of slowdown.
Stop 'em going through multiple floors and change a few totem spawn spots so they aren't majorly out of the way, and boon totems as a mechanic would be just fine.

no but i believe its how it should work.

Definitely, it would also make Pentimento more viable
3 -
Yes. This would remove two issues in a row: the survivors rebooning a totem again and again and having several CoH across the map.

"SHOULDN'T SNUFFING A BOON BREAK THE TOTEM?"
Yes

Yes.

they shouldn't break the totem, but i think killers should be able to relight their hexes on boons.
most of the powerful ones require a lot of tokens anyways, so its not like the killers is getting free devour.

I would go for the cooldown.

Oh God I hope the bit about gen and speed boons is irony...

It's called snuff not break totem...

The mechanic of snuffing out a boon should break the totem if BHVR wants counterplay to boons to be fair.

lol @cheatwithfriends. Love that.

No if they add Gen Speed boons then the game WILL die because the rest of the Killers will leave in mass. But they have done stuff before where they said Oh we won't do this but do it anyway. BHVR dosnt have a good track record with trust to us.
I'm still afraid what other nightmare Boons they will make. They want to change the meta and they started it with CoH.....

Keep in mind if they change it to where a snuffed totem breaks, you are potentially eliminating chances of triggering NOED and potential other post game hexes.
This would also impact the hook hexes that spawn after a survivor is hooked rendering essentially a larger pool of perks useless for a huge chunk of the match .

I'm hoping that's the one thing they stand by, no generator boons. I know this is BHVR we're talking about but I'm still hoping. It really would kill this game.
2 -
yes or stop the totem from being blessed for some time

I think snuffing the totem should do something other than return it to a neutral state. I'm not sure if that means the totem should break, the killer Hex should get rekindled, but something should happen other than temporarily disabling the boon.
Right now, if you're playing survivor, there's no risk or disadvantage to using boons, except the time it takes to light them, which I think is a problem.
Most radical proposal: when EGC starts, all lit boons turn into debuffs.

No? That's literally how Hex totems work, and you don't see people complaining about it. Sure, Hex totems are more powerful than Boon totems, and making them a one-time perk like Hex totems would require some tweaking to them (like perhaps getting rid of the chime, making them just like Hex totems for survivors, and maybe adjusting their abilities or percentages), but I don't really see it as a bad idea to make it just one-time.

Totems being reusable after having Boons snuffed is fine provided the individual Boon perks are balanced around that system. Basically the devs have to assume that a given Boon perk will probably be in effect most of the game when they consider where to set its effect parameters. Currently Circle of Healing is the problematic perk, the other two aren’t as powerful, so if they slow Circle of Healing down enough it should be ok.

Like you said, hexes are much powerful and there is only one boon perk that’s good. The other two aren’t. So a one time use would make those two useless at that point. One thing I would like to see is if it was like plaything. You see the boon totem highlighted from some distance like plaything. Cool down would be good too or killers breaking the totem. It would give them petiemento easier too so that’s good

I think the best change to Boon is each totem can only be blessed once.
Have ShadowStep & Peno range increased to 32m, while Coh decreased to 8m. Make them have to heal right next to the Boon.

Likewise only 1 hex perk is good. The rest are mediocre or borderline useless.
