Why do people subtle hack?
I play oce servers because im in aus and i get so many hackers on my team when playing survivor and so many when i play killer but its been like 1000 hours of gameplay since ive seen a funny hacker that actually just flies around doing stupid things all i see is cringe subtle hacks that you have to really pay attention to and then they always try so hard to deny after the game its actually so sad. But my question is why do people subtle hack how is that fun? either go all out or be actually good instead of having every perk on at once and insta heals with a 20 second blind flashlight.

Because to them it's not about participation or skill, it's about beating someone else - which is understandable, because that's the mentality Cote's vision dictates.

Because they want to be good without actually being good at the game, and because it's easier to get away with than obvious hacks (though with the current state of the cheating issue, you can get away with flying Myers if you want to - they might get on your pile of in-game reports in a month if somebody sent footage via the support website, and not a moment before. It's a nightmare.)

As the posters above have stated, for some people, winning is the only part that matters. Whether they do it because they feel like the game is too imbalanced (so all they're doing is balancing the game!) or if they just don't care how they win as long as they win, subtle cheating is an easy way to do it.
If you make the hack too obvious though, there's no plausible deniability if your BS is getting called out on and you're far more likely to be reported.

what i really dont understand is its not even hard to tell they're hacking usually i can tell before we load in by looking at the profile but even if i couldnt tell off of that its easy to tell off of the fact the have 60 perks at once but maybe its just because i have alot of hours maybe a newer killer or a survivor on their team not paying much attention couldnt tell? but idk

Subtle hacking is the worse. Those players on both sides who use slight speed hacks are scum. Survivor is a little easier to pick up on, but a slightly fast killer is very subtle and confusing. Sometimes you question if they have STBFL, but when you realize you were the first encounter- it doesn’t add up.

I dunno, my guess is they want other people in the game to think they're as good as Ayrun or probzz or whatever and get recognition but they actually suck and have to cheat to do it

because they are sad, imagine using hacks because you can't accept the idea of losing. At least over the top hackers have self awareness

I dont doubt you go against subtle cheaters from time to time
But I dont think you go against them as much as you think, some times you just get outplayed

no no im not talking about i verse them all the time or even play with them ALL the time but i use bond open handed and kindred as my main build on surv and i see them all the time insta healing themselves i pay attention to the perks they use and they use like 17 different perks and thats usually the way i can tell. The way to 100% confirm on killer that they were hacking is when you count like 11 different perks that they use for example the thing that inspired the original post was that i versed a laurie that had breakout speed wiggle with no one around had boil over that was like 150% had breakdown 2 boons saboteur breakout and a flashlight with like a 8 second blind which needs to be a purple flashy with double globe addons and she had no item so she spawned that when she loaded in

Insecurity.

Because they are bad at the game but want to win while maintaining the illusion of not being bad.

Because they don't want to get caught. It can be almost impossible to tell apart a subtle hack from legitimate gameplay, meaning that there's a much lower chance of them getting reported and banned.

I would rather be chasing someone and they just take off flying because that's like ######### hahaha ha and it's funny and they aren't taking it seriously anyway. But that player moving at 105% or whatever is just lame and they don't want to or can't get better.

It's a self esteem thing.
They cannot tolerate feeling like they are worse at a videogame than someone else.

I never got this mind set. I use to be terrible at Huntress then I practiced and I'm alright with her but when ii hit some sick hatch it feels so good because I did that I put the time in and now have the skill to do said thing. Not auto aim hit that for me I'm so good.

Had a match against a fast heal on a injured survivor. I thought it was COH but it got obvious by the second hooking.

legit its so sad when they try to hide it

exactly its so satisfying to get better at a game like dbd where your skill is matched up against other peoples and when you then come our on top because you actually put in the time its a great feeling that idk how someone could play without getting that feeling
