Trying to find a killer that’s easy to use for a new player
I am new to the game and trying to figure out what killer would be easiest to use for a new player.

Hi and welcome!
Killer is a tricky role, but if you stick with it it's a lot of (frustrating) fun.
A few things to consider:
- Perks are incredibly important when you are getting started. The Cannibal gives you BBQ, likely the first perk you should pick up, and he's also okay to learn with. Artist gives you Pain Resonance, which is another very useful and consistent perk.
- I'd learn with an 'M1' killer first before learning someone with a different style. Myers is very easy to understand, and will unlock Save The Best For Last, which is another excellent perk.
- Plague is a much more complicated killer, but she's really strong and also has Corrupt Intervention, another brilliant perk.
- Nemesis is very popular and fluid to use.
If I had to restart, my first purchase would be The Cannibal and my second would be The Artist or The Plague.

Probably Wraith

It will come down to how feel each killer out. Wraith is a good, easy start. I started with Trapper.

I'm gonna assume you are just starting and have only the base-kit killers.
For me the best choice would be Wraith, you can start with a stealthier killer to begin to learn the usual places where to find survivors at the start of the match. It's easier to watch and learn from some of the things they do while being undetected. Also, you'll have a ton of speed so you can work on your gen patrol.
EDIT: But don't hesitate to give the others a try too. You never know, maybe you find another one that fits your playstyle better. Let me say if you feel comfortable with Nurse you will have an amazing start to this game lol

You'll need to save up 9000 Iridescent Shards, but I would recommend starting off as Legion for the following reasons.
- Using their power isn't much different mechanically from any killer's base kit, so they don't have a steep learning curve.
- When used well, their power is going to let you stab people. Every. Time. Killer can be a very frustrating role, so feeling like you've managed to accomplish something in spite of the Matchmaker throwing you against Survivors you can't handle is very useful.
- You can make a pretty serviceable build for them out of their perks + the perks you can get without any further iridescent shards. Discordance + Jolt + Thanatophobia + Brutal Strength. That is... in order... their perk, a free perk, a Nurse perk, and a Trapper perk. For a build with just their perks and free perks, I'd say go for Discordance, Bitter Murmur, Jolt, and NOED.
- Their power gives you something that is very difficult for the average new killer player to get ahold of (though a bit easier now). That is something that slows down the Survivors so your games won't be over before you feel like you've even started. Deep Wound makes the Survivors have to stop working generators and mend themselves for 12 seconds, and those seconds can really add up.

Assuming you have only base game I suggest wraith. He has predator invisibility and is truly invisible 20+ meters away. Has shadowborn to widen your fov, bloodhound to see blood easier and predator to see scratch marks a bit longer to help you track survivors.

I think that a good killer to start out with is pig, she has a built in game slowdown giving you a chance to become more familiarized with the type of map rng and just learning to track survivors for longer without the gens going by quickly.

DOCTOR, PLAY DOCTOR, in seriousness though, he is quite easy to pick up, use ability, survivor screams, walk towards scream, simple but effective

Of the base game killers, Wraith and Doc are definitely the best for new players, maybe Huntress if they're an fps player since the skill translates pretty well.

Let's not forget, bloodhound and predator are pretty meh perks, but i guess for beginners not terrible

I'm not sure if you're looking at only easy to pick up, or to get very good at, or something else. I'll give you a few choice with reasoning to help you decide.
From the base game: Wraith, followed by Billy (he's actually easy, although not fully effective, to use at base if you stick to the chainsaw mostly for mobility at the beginning).
Killers that you can buy for shards: Legion. Very good choice to learn the fundamentals of killers and they are bloodpoint magnets, but they're weak once you start going against better survivors. If you're rather looking for a strong killer who's easy-ish to pick up, but that you can grow with, choose Plague. Bonus: has two very good perks. Or Blight, which is one of the strongest killers when mastered and easy to play suboptimally still.
Best choice overall, but you have to buy with real money: Leatherface. Slap Bamboozle on this bad boy and you can have your brain removed while still winning consistently. Mega bonus: he ships with BBQ for those sweet bloodpoints.

Wraith and Legion are great options.

trapper - especially easy to catch new comers
wraith - plain and simple
hillbilly - fun to start
huntress - its more m2 based, also gives you some challange
then it depends, do you have base game? dlc killers?
experiement!
with current sbmm and mmr, game cannot guarantee if you will be playing with survivors that have equal hours or +2000 in dbd.
The better youll perform, harder it will be. Or should at least.
Also keep in mind each killer has teachable perks to share across all killers. So…to get some strong builds, youll need quite a lot of grind to do :)…but lets leave this part for another day

Someone with good tracking, and preferably generally a "M1 killer" that has to catch up to someone to hit them as it's important to learn the fundementals of how chases work in their most basic form.
Basegame only I'd go for Wraith. Perhaps not direct tracking, but you'll probably be able to start chases closer to survivors, catch people trying to hide from you while you're cloaked and he does also have some utility during chases with his uncloak that can be practiced. And while cloaked you move faster around the map as well, cutting down on travel time.
With DLC I'd recommend Doctor, as he might be the best at finding survivors out of any killer in the game. Newer survivors hide a lot, and often in odd places too. A quick static blast reveals them, which lets you get into a chase. His power also provides some anti-loop chase utility that does have a bit of a learning curve to use effectively, which is fun. Pretty interesting add-on design too, which lets you both directly improve parts of his kit, or add entirely new functions to it.
My #1 tip has less to do with what killer you pick, and more to do with your mindset: spend as much time as possible in situations where you can improve important skills, and a lot of the game boils down to chases so do a lot of chasing. This is why I recommend killers with good tracking and/or chase starting, as you'll both find survivors you can chase easier and pick up a thing or two about where people run/hide to avoid you if you pay attention.
You will get memed on by matchmaking and go against good survivors that give you trouble. It can be annoying but try your best to simply pay attention to how they play and what they do (If you haven't played survivor, I'd also recommend doing that - seeing the game from their perspective is quite useful in improving at killer, and the other way around too for new survivor players). While you're learning, do yourself a favor and try to not focus too hard on the end result of matches, if you come out of a match having discovered a better way to run a specific tile/structure or something, good job.
An alternative approach that is perfectly fine is to get Leatherface. He gives you BBQ&Chili perk which both gives you some information/tracking and the oh-so delicious bonus bloodpoints, and Bamboozle is also a good perk that blocks vault spots you vault for a while (even though I'd be careful, unless you plan to run it 24/7 it's important to learn how to deal with vault tiles without it too). He's also a perfectly fine killer to start with too, you still have to chase fairly "normally" but he has a power you can do some surprisingly deadly things in chase with if you practice it.

Welcome.... Play all killers and get a feel for who you like the most
I started playing Pig... and still do

I second this.

With my 400 hours on Legion I would suggest this killer. She is easy to use and works well against new and average survivors.
She becomes quite hard to win with at high level, but by then your friend will know what they like and can pick a better killer.

You should do the Tutorial to unlock Wraith. If I remember correclty, he is locked behind the Tutorial as a Reward.
I would also invest some bucks into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre-DLC, this will give you Leatherface. He has a Perk (BBQ&Chili) which gives you extra Bloodpoints and shows you the Location of Survivors far away from you when you hook someone. This Perk helps a lot when it comes to levelling up characters.
But from the Base Game, I think Wraith is the first choice. He is easy to use and still decent, you wont have the strongest Killer, but he is not weak at all. Trapper is also quite good at the start, at least the basics are easy to learn, since it is just walking around, picking up Traps and placing down Traps, however, he has some learning curve, since you learn over time which Traps are good and which Traps only sound good, but are not good.
Stay away from Huntress and Nurse for now. Both are different from the standard Killer-gameplay, especially Nurse does not help you at all when trying to learn Killer.

True but Nurse is VERY difficult as a new player to pick up especially with her recharge now and boons to allow old SC healing

wraith, pig, trapper even legion or ghostface any primarily m1 killer is very good for learning to end chases quickly

Legion doesn't have a power

Cannibal is very powerful and ez to learn

Also, one thing to understand is that you don't have to play a certain killer in order to level them up and unlock their perks. In the long run you should probably play all killers available to you at least to a modicum extent, just to learn what powers they bring to the table and how to counter them if you were to vers them as survivor, but if you just want a certain perk unlocked, you can play your favorite killer with BBQ and just pour that bloodpoints into whomever needs it.
That being said, we also have the Killer pack now, which gives you nearly all the OC from BHVR at a good discount. You will miss out on the survivors and some cosmetics from the DLC, but this is really an excellent buy if you know that you wanna stick with this game for a couple hundred hours; the package will give you a wide variation of different playstyles, nearly all of the meta or fun perks and you can change it up every so often, if you wanna try something new. Like I would never have bought Clown just for Bamboozle and he didn't sound that interesting, but he was in the package and turned out to be one of my favorite killers.
From the licenced characters (besides Leatherface, who is nearly a necessity because of the grind and BBQ) Nemesis is pretty easy to pick up as a new player, as he has a rather easy to use ranged power and a good way to get rid of pallets. His Lethal Pursuer perk also lets you see the spawn points of the survivors, which at the very least is a great learning tool and even a lot of high level players still use the perk for the early game pressure it generates.

Cannibal for sure. They have BBQ which is almost a must for a very long time. Also by leveling up Cannibal first you can make BBQ available in all your bloodwebs for other killers or prestige levels. If you are talking about base killers I used Trapper. He makes you learn the maps so you can put down traps in well travelled areas.

Re: OP's question:
- Doctor: the power is very straight forward, it helps you find survivors and get into chases, and (at low levels) the madness can slow down generator progress. He has several very good Addons and has great use with a bunch of the default perks. Note: his front-arc shock has terrible validation, and survivors often get to throw the pallet despite having been shocked.
- Freddy: his power help slow down loops and gives you map awareness. Being able to teleport also speeds up your chase potential and combos well with some perks. He was nerfed in the most asinine way possible, so he's appreciable less good and less fun to play, but his core kit is still relatively accessible.
- Leatherface: His power is both very strong and does not require too much additional practice to understand (unlike Hillbilly's nearly uncontrollable dash + overheat mechanic). All you really need to learn is counting down when you have to hit the power to extend your chainsawing and how to avoid running into obstacles.
- Clown: His power is useful and does not require the kind of accuracy that Huntress demands. His antidote bottles are an added layer of complexity that you can safely ignore - a 'buff' that basically did not solve his core weaknesses. That being said, he's not all that good. You can get decent play from him at lower MMR, but will quickly be blown out of the water if you win too much. Still, he's easy to use.
- And that's pretty much it. Every other killer either has layers of self-nerfs (pyramid head, legion), requires extensive practice to learn their power inside and out (spirit, oni), or has a totally different skill system that is extremely punishing to even attempt to use without already being a pro (nurse, blight)
It's also worth noting that Killers that are easy to use and do not require a lot of experience to use their powers inevitably get nerfed (Freddy, Wraith). Killers that are very hard to use and take a lot of practice to learn their powers typically do not get nerfed (blight, hag). Though, this is not always the case, as we saw with Bubba staying consistent (though he was awful original and got buffed to his current state), or Deathslinger (who required a whole special skill set to use his hooking usefully and got a tremendous nerf out of nowhere recently).
