How do you feel when your teammates lets you get into second state?

deKlaw_04

these last few matches have been painful with horrible teammates. My god teammates constantly leaving me on the hook and getting to second state. This past match I had enough. These guys left me on the hook into second state and and this Felix thought I was gonna play after that. I went right up to the killer and let the artist kill me. She stood the staring at me as I begged her to put me out of my misery. And she did. Thank you if you were on ps4 I would have sent you a thank you message.

They can report me idc you let me get into second state when you saw her chasing someone that you just healed. I’ll do my part if you do yours

Considering I always have Kindred equipped, its kinda a "you know this games gonna go to hell, right?" moment.

If there is no good reason that I wasn't saved before struggle, I'll just let go and let the entity take me. It's morbidly amusing to see them actually start running for you (finally) when they realize it will be 3 vs 1.

After that, I spectate and watch them die :)

Altruism is one of the pressure points of the solo queue and why SWF is so popular. Having someone to count on is comforting. Kindred is so important in solo and why fearmonger is so strong sometimes. Solo queue is DBD hard mode. I have encountered heroes and villains in the fog and not knowing who is around that campfire makes things interesting.

I'm fine about it mostly anyway. Maybe the team is prioritizing generators or they're getting zoned out cleverly by the killer.

Only time I killed myself off hook is when a Survivor literally did a generator in front of me. The generator isn't even half done by the way, He went to my face cancelled the unhooked and went away. If his idea was to piss me off then it worked and I have no qualms about giving the W to the killer I just looped for a long time beforehand and is struggling to get a foothold in the match so here's free pressure I'm off the game cya.

I'm okay with it if it was a good trade. Like if there's ruin in play, one person was chased, and I see the 3rd and 4th gen pop. That's solid. If the killer was insanely good, they weren't necessarily camping, but were close and everyone was injured, that's fine to let everyone heal up and reset. Tactical decision.

If there's someone on the other side of the map hiding behind a rock uninjured while I hear the terror radius, one person working on a gen, and a 3rd one in a locker.

Well at that point just kill me.

    This.

I just don't bother with skill checks and move onto the next match. Unless a player is being camped or rare case you have blindness status effect (fearmonger doesn't count, just let go of gen) there's no reason to let a teammate get to second state that didn't attempt escape.

I used to want out of the game, but I have done a lot of self reflection and decided to play the match out and pretend it never happened. Queues are getting too long as survivor to be petty...

I tend to be tabbed out on first hook and watching the game in a tiny square while I watch YouTube or something. They better hope I realize they let me get to second state before I have to do a skill check.

It also depends on context. If the killer is the reason I got to second state then it's not a big deal, I just have to play more carefully but if my team is just derp I get ready for the hatch. Thanks for not letting me get one hooked at least.

It depends. Sometimes (mostly later in the game) it can be the right play to prioritize a gen, but if there wasn’t a good reason for it then it’s frustrating to be left to go second, especially since I basically always run kindred in solos.

Part of why I run kindred is to help prevent this from happening, not just to myself but to my teammates as well. Having the information that someone else is (or isn’t) going for a save is extremely beneficial and helps you be more efficient as a team overall.

Infuriated/annoyed. Half the time my teammates are sitting on gens or just hiding around the map when this happens. If I do end up getting saved, I don't help anyone else for the rest of the match.

If it is not late game I don't feel too motivated to give my best anymore.

    I don't throw but I go chill.

I hold on as long as possible. Then if I do get rescued, the next time one of my teammates get hooked, I walk over and teabag them mercilessly. Yes, I am that dick.

It depends on the circumstances. If it’s a strategic play, no problem. If there are five gens still up and I’m running kindred with open handed, ######### em. Especially if they’re all healthy.

If I see they could save me before getting to second stage, I do not struggle/skill check and suicide on the hook. They deserve it.

    depends why,

is the killer camping? If the survs are just doing gens, im fine with it, If they are standing near me like bunch a of jakass i better not see one one them complain about camping

Do i have kindred and the killer is nowhere close to me? if yes, I will not hit a skill check. Luckily this hasn't happened to me since MMR was introduced instead of constantly during rank based matchmaking.

If I am being camped then I'm cool with hanging around on the hook for a while. But if the killer is straight running through my team on the other end of the map while two people could have unhooked me then I just let go.

    It happens.

    It's part of the game.

I have no real emotional response.

If I don't have Kindred, I am a bit mad but in the end I am like "how should they know?"

If I have Kindred, they better never bump into me in rl.

It does feel exasperating, but then I also remind myself that I'm not a mind-reader and they may be thinking somebody else is going to rescue me.

On occassion I can see all 3 a fair distance away, but when one suddenly starts being chased, if the others notice this they come to save me.

SoloQ does have this extra challenge, but whenever I've had an aura-reading perk in my arsenal at least one other survivor has come to my aid efficiently.

It's not so much that my fellow survivors are "bad"; moreover they just do not have that information and also there are many other factors that may result in them not coming for the save (close to finishing a gen, killer nearby, healing, feel they are too far away).

Finally, an unpopular opinion: Let's not pretend it's always the other survivors being bad. I guarantee everyone has been that survivor that has irrated others and it happens at every level. I watched a Dowsey video on a survivor challenge where Dowsey actively told Otz of a trap directly in front of him, was very clear and yet Otz still ran into it, despite no pressure. People make mistakes, but doesn't mean they are bad. Use some empathy and realise you have been that guy in other trials. Besides, there is always next trial.

If I get let go into second stage for no reason whatsoever besides them being bad at the game (i always use kindred) I'll just suicide.

  • DwightFairfield
    DwightFairfield Member Posts: 1,246

whenever it happens, its exhausting, and i normally just kill myself.

this is because whenever i do get teammates that let me go to 2nd, they're normally not doing gens or dicking around in some other fashion. its not like the game is going to make a miraculous turnaround if 2/3 of your teammates are actively being lobotomized during the match.

It does feel bad but jesus christ this thread is chalk full of whiners. Hurr durr I'm gonna be offended because you don't play the game in x way so I'll just throw the game, then go to the forums whining about bad teammates.

  • tennmio
    tennmio Member Posts: 354

It depends for me. Usually, if it isn't the third time in a row, if all the teammates are productive on gens and the killer proxycamps anyway I just take it. If no one of my teammates is getting chased and they leave their gens to crouch somewhere I'll gladly let go.

Actually I hate it if they let me get to 2nd and even more if they then as soon as I got to 2nd rush for the unhook. I might get ignored because of possible bt or slugged for possible ds by the killer instead of being able to leave the match asap.

It depends. I'll obviously be pissed off but I'll change my mind if:

    • Killer has Ruin: Not as pissed
    • I have Kindred: Extremely pissed

    It really depends.

I agree everyone makes mistakes. But even kindred doesn't guarantee getting unhooked b4 2nd status. And while Otz is a very good killer he (no offense) is nowhere near his killer skills when it comes to survivor. I would rate him low-average. He even lacks knowleadge when it comes to overall survivor gameplay strategies and in game decision making that could make up for his average looping skills. Not trying to offend anyone but Otz isn't a good example for high skilled survior gameplay.

I find destroying clicky clicky squad or a sabo squad typically makes me feel better and then I switch back to survivor

Ofc as soon as I switch back I get pototaes again tho lol

I get good players when I play killer. Not great but good. Why can’t these guys be my teammates. Lol idk it’s weird I don’t care if the killer beats me too (props to them) and my team it’s when my comrades suck and that’s the reason we lose that doesn’t make it feel good

  • Marc_go_solo

I'll be honest, I have only seen Otz do killer mostly, and accept what you say. However, I still reckon that his competency in survivor would still be good enough, due to how much he plays. I was moreso expressing about how people with many hours in the game can still make basic errors, and whilst Kindred doesn't guarantee it has worked more often than not from my trials. And even then, it doesn't illustrate incompetency every time (not saying you're saying that).

Found the one who crouches all game and then walks to you when you are getting to second phase so they can keep their sprint burst.

Don't really mind as long as they do something useful with the time. Don't really care if that's doing gens, getting a hex, resetting safely if everyone is injured or whatever else. But if someone crouches near the hook (giving me the impression they're looking for a chance to save, and the other survivors too as I tend to run Kindred) and they never even go for perfectly fine unhooking opportunities where they can easily avoid both farming me and getting forced into a trade... at that point please just go away and do a gen or something instead 😄.

And if the killer is genuinely camping I want them to just slam gens. Forget about me entirely, if the killer notices 3 gens go off by the time I'm 2nd phase and goes after someone else they can always try to get me then, and if not they can keep doing gens. No big deal as long as they do something with the time they save by not going for the save.
