Im worried about the future of SBMM

We definely need a game mode without SBMM.

Devs said in the future patch, the less you play the game, more you loose MMR.

Its completly absurd and Im worried for the future of the game.

They sold us a real SBMM but its more like Matchmaking based on frequency of playing now.

SBMM is already broken since release. I dont enjoy the game as I used.

And now devs said I will have more absurd games because Im not playing enough ?

If the devs dont make a chill game mode without SBMM. I will just drop the game.

Even playing as swf dont feel fun anymore.

And dont say to me maybe Im bored, Im not, I love this game so much and I just want it to be fun.

But now, Im just doing my rift for comestics. But when my rift is done, I dont play the game at all.

Dbd would be perfect without SBMM.

Your MMR lowering if you don't play the game for a long time isn't really any different from how your rank would reset a tier each month and eventually regress all the way to 20.

If anything, it'll probably be less impactful than that was.

How you would be paired with other players without SBMM? I'm genuinely asking because you didn't precise.

I am actually happy about that change. I have talked about this issue some time ago.

With old ranks if you didn't play for two months, you got from rank 1 to rank 10. MMR didn't have that. You just get worse if you don't play, it's normal and SBMM should count that.

I have not played for several months and whenever I tried to start playing again, I just found out my old mains are unplayable for me.

It's a good change. I sometimes take breaks of few weeks or a month for playing other games I've bought (like the ones I've bought in the current Steam Christmas sales for example) and even not playing two or three weeks make you lose some practice, OK, you don't become a noob again but it's quite noticeable, specially when playing hard killers and you lose some game sense.

I do not see a problem here.

My skill and reflexes dull with certain Killers and with the game overall when I do not play for a while. With Elden Ring coming up I have another game that I will play to no end and this will leave me with less time for DbD maybe even leading to a break.

After more than a month I would not be able to play against the same level as before. Plain as that.

This makes it more fun for returning players and is a good decision.

Dbd wasn't perfect before SBMM, what are you on about? They're working on improving it, quit complaining.

Like every games, there is a quick game mode and a ranked mode with SBMM.

I didnt say that. But current dbd without SBMM would be perfect.

I have a lot of concerns about how skill is calculated and the near complete lack of dialogue from the devs in this regard.

If they are saying a killer that gets 8 hooks and 0 kills played worse or is less skilled than a facecamping Leatherface who 4k'd because solos rushed the basement, they don't understand their game at all.

If they think a survivor who completed a generator or two and ran the killer for the last 3 generators but died on their first hook is somehow worse than the immersed survivor who never encountered the killer but escaped, I take issue with that.

If they decided they can't quantify these things, I get that. But at that point..... don't force MMR on the game.

Exactly, thats why we need a quick game mode without SBMM. Like every other games do.

I think it's hilarious that they'll put in a decaying MMR rating for not playing for awhile, but they're keeping the "new killers start at your highest rating" in direct counter to the stated reason for having separate ratings for each killer.

So, if I'm a little rusty, my ratings go down, but if I bought a new killer that I've never tried before, I get games exactly as hard as the ones I'm facing with my most-played killer? BRILLIANT

SBMM is slowly killing the game, I hope they will understand it..
