Which dlc are worth their money?

I want to see who here thinks which DLC is worth the money because recently it's been getting more and more obvious that certain chapters are damn near worthless.

And I mean it for both sides, not just one side.

Also Since it has been announced how many of you think with how the game is now feel that the ring dlc will be worth the 5-8 dollars.

Only the licensed ones. Because everything else is obtainable via shards.

And to the point of being worth it? It really depends and I can't make a call since I haven't bought anything for money since pig. (No Nemesis and cenobite)

Go for licensed chapters. You can get original killers and survivors with shards.

    Leatherface for BBQ and Franklin.

Resident Evil, Nemesis is good killer. And Jill is awesome.

Silent Hill. Pyramid Head is also good killer.

Halloween. Myers is weak killer but he has good perks. Also Decisive is so important perk for survivors.

Hellraiser. Pinhead is not bad killer. He has really so good perks. You should get him for Deadlock and Plaything.

This 5 chapters are decent. You can go for other licensed chapters later.

If you are just playing for strength then killers would be

LF, hag(free on some platforms), blight, plague, clown, artist, pinhead would get you the majority of meta killer perks.

For survivors it'd be Laurie and Mikaela. Most of the surv meta perks are free (DH, BT, UB) I'd recommend kate for windows if it's a newer player.

If you're wanting non-meta but fun perks that's a much broader list and a little subjective too imo.

Leatherface is worth it for BBQ.

Buy Laurie, Myers is pretty bad but DS is good.

    Pinhead has good perks.

    Don't buy non-licensed content.

Halloween chapter for sure. Mikey is a very fun killer and has good perks. Laurie looks much better since her rework and of course comes with DS.

Leatherface, Clown, and Plague are all you need. That gets you corrupt, pop, BBQ, and bamboozle which is a staple combination on almost every killer.

In terms of being "worth their money", I got all the original killer DLCs for free using shards. The only DLC I've paid for was the licensed killers.

Ranking those in terms of how fun the killer is to play (which is the only thing I care about honestly, I don't buy DLC for the perks.)

    • Nightmare on Elm Street - Freddy : I love playing Freddy. The Dream World has a neat aesthetic, and it's fun teleporting around the map and using his ability. While I consider his snares a bit more effective than pallets, I always use pallets because I never get tired of seeing survivors fall for them and getting smacked in the face while their pallet explodes. 😄
    • Halloween - Meyers : Although I'm not really a fan of his base kit, his variant playstyle add-ons (Mirrors and Tombstones) are really fun to use. I love Purple and Red add-ons that really change up how you actually play a killer.
    • Hellraiser - Pinhead : The IP is great, Pinhead has a good luck to him, and they really did a nice job capturing the theme with the Box (and it's pretty awesome that they got Doug Bradley to record a whole slew of new voice lines for the next patch!) More importantly, despite him being a ranged killer which I don't usually go for as much as melee, his ranged attack is actually easy for me to hit with and his Chain Hunts are really impactful. Plus, to my surprise, I found his teleports are actually more useful than some people think. Basically if it looks like a survivor is going to be opening the box anyway, and you don't have something pressing going on, Teleporting to them normally gets you a quick hit and also denies them a free item they'd get from opening the box. It's that combination of three different abilities that I like, he's just fun to play because of it.
    • Saw - Pig : I know Pig isn't high on a lot of tier lists, but I always have a good time playing her. I actually like her Stealth, and I even like hitting survivors with her Ambush from stealth (I hit surprisingly often with it, I think it might get a bit of a bad rap honestly.) And of course her head traps give her some nice passive slowdown which gives you time to get hits and downs hopefully. Frankly despite her not being popular I tend to have a good time with her and actually do pretty decently even.
    • Silent Hill - Pyramid Head : My favorite part of Pyramid Head's kit is his Cages and Torment Trails. Yeah, his ranged attack is effective, but I just like melee style better than ranged generally speaking. But the Cages and trails are a lot of fun to mess with, and a lot of people underestimate how much time Cages save you compared to carrying someone to a hook. (Carrying can take around 10 seconds to do, versus a 2 second Cage, and in 8 seconds you can cross most of the map and get into a new chase in the time it takes to carry someone.) He also has some great music, and just has a great look to him.
    • Resident Evil - Nemesis : Again, my favorite part of Nemesis' kit isn't his ranged attack, it's his Zombies. Yeah, they're stupid and slow, but they make pretty great survivor detectors. It's very common for me to see a Zombie's aura chasing someone, I head over there and a few seconds later and in a chase. With a little luck I can even steer the chase toward the Zombie to mess up the survivor's pathing. And then after the chase ends, I can just whip the Zombie, gain infection, and force it to respawn elsewhere to try and keep the other survivors on their toes not knowing where the new zombies are appearing. I'm not really a fan of using his whip to damage survivors typically, but it does make for a pretty sweet pallet smasher once you hit second stage.
    • Ghost Face : Really Ghost Face and Pig are pretty close in terms of why I like them. I just generally like using their Stealth to get in close and get hits. Ghost Face's Stalk is fun, but it's a bit finicky sometimes getting it to work. I like playing him but for whatever reason I just seem to do a bit better with Pig I think, go figure.
    • Stranger Things - Demogorgon : Demogorgon is a fun killer, in fact my favorite part of his kit is actually using his tunnels as radar stations for tracking. Other than that he's pretty good. I put him a bit above Leatherface simply because his combination of tunnels and lunges gives his playstyle a bit more breadth.
    • Leatherface : Bubba is pretty solid since his revamp a couple years ago. I put him a bit below Meyers in the fun department though mainly because his add-ons don't really change up his playstyle at all so he's kind of a one trick pony. It's a neat trick, but it just doesn't have the same feeling of variety.

So looking back over them all I don't regret buying any of these killers. Even Leatherface, who's probably my least favorite DLC character above, is still a character I like playing more than some of the other original characters. (Notably, I like playing Leatherface waaaay more than I like playing Hillbilly. Hitting with Bubba's chainsaw just feels a lot more fluid, and if I wanted to sprint quickly around the map Blight does it at least as well if not better in terms of doing sharp turns.) There are original characters I really like playing (Doctor is one of my favorite killers to play overall for instance), but there are also original characters I don't enjoy (Nurse is my least favorite killer in the game, by far. So much so that I keep a Nurse mission in my daily log just so I never get another Nurse mission.)

Maybe but i will be damned if i pay anymore money for this game.

And they give me something to play for as neither grades, MMR or the rest of the grind are really worth it.

I have all perks (that i have unlocked) on my oni and am working on getting all on one survivor and I would be mostly done with the insane grind.

Also the game itself is far from casually enjoyable as killer after a certain point and so working on getting the newest unlicensed killer/survivor would be the only real incentive to keep playing.

A grind that really gets you something, instead of the ludicrous grind to equip all killers or multiple survivor cosmetics (the different characters aren't much more than that) or even P3 them for some bloody cosmetics.

If I was new, I'd grab Bubba (for BBQ), Artist because I like playing her, and also for PR and Penti, Cenobite for Plaything and Myers because I have a lot of fun on him, but also for STBFL.

In terms of licensed killers worth buying to play, Demo would top my list but sadly you can't buy him anymore. Myers is a close second, but purely because SM is so much fun.

Out of the rest, Nemesis is fun but janky and way too common for my liking, Pyramid Head is great but has awful addons and perks, Cenobite is just a touch too frustrating after his nerfs and Ghostface...I'll wait for the rework.

the only chapters worth getting (imo) would probably have to be Bubba, Hellraiser (if the nft thing doesnt bother you), Portrait or murder, Mikaelas chapter (forget the name), and Halloween

Bubba for bbq, hes also fun to play (and, you’ll be getting 6k shards soon for the removal of his masks)

hellraiser for Plaything & deadlock. Pinhead can also be fun if you like ranged killers.

portrait of murder because of the new scourge hook, its a very good perk. plus artist is a great killer, and jonah has 2 really good perks (unbreakaboon and overcome)

    Mikaela for… obvious reasons.

and finally, halloween- ds, object, and save the best for last. Myers is meh.

In terms of power, Myers is meh.

In terms of fun...I really enjoy him.

Leatherface. You can facecamp and make people mad, because they can't do anything against it unless they are in SWF. It's the most fun you can ever get from this game.

Leatherface, not for BBQ. No. For the free 6k shards. Ez.

    Pretty much all of them

They are dirt cheap and often go on sale too. Getting a soda in the movie theatre is more expensive here then some of the dlc's on sale

Personally I see no point in buying characters I have no desire to play so most I have skipped and just waited for their perks to appear in the shrine.

For licensed characters the only ones I own are Demo, Pyramid head and Nemesis.

I don't now about sadako. I need to see her in action first. I'm burnt out from grinding bloodpoints for artist. I will wait until sometime after the ring chapter releases and if there is a bloodhunt I will decide.

Also, if you don't want to grind out all the shards, the killers pack is quite cool and worth it. If it's on sale, you can get all the original killers for about 10 or 12 bucks or something ,and they provide you with so much different playstyles and most meta perks.

Besides that, everything else has been saod and done here. Leatherface for BBQ is practically a necessity in order to lessen the grind, Pyramid Head is my favorite killer so the Silent Hill chapter is a favorite of mine, Nemesis is a surprisingly fun killer and Lethal Pursuer is a great perk to let you learn how busted spawns can work and generally get a feel for them. Also getting the first chase going 15s into the game is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Pinhead is another rather cool killer that many on the forums love to whine about, but I have a lot of fun with his box mechanic and his perks are top notch.

Same with The Artist, her Scourge Hook perk was a game changer to me and made it into nearly every loadout of mine that unlocked it.

Buy only licensed content. Everything else you can grind shards.

From the licensed content, the only one I say every player should 100% get is Leatherface for BBQ because it can potentially cut your BP grind in half. Everything else is a matter of taste.

Halloween: Myers is weak but generally fun to play, STBFL is good, DS is good.

Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy is ok but generally boring to play, perks are trash although Blood Warden is fun.

Saw: Pig is weak and I don't find her fun to play as, Make Your Choice is good on some killers, Detective's Hunch is decent.

Ghostface: killers is weak but generally fun to play, Thrilling Tremors is very good, I'm All Ears is decent.

Ash: perks are trash. Only buy if you're really into Evil Dead and want to play the survivor.

Silent Hill: PH is strong and very fun to play as, perks are trash.

Resident Evil: Nemesis is ok but generally fun to play, Lethal Pursuer is very good, Flashbang and Blast Mine are fun to use.

Hellraiser: Pinhead is ok but frustrating to play, Deadlock is a meta perk, Plaything is very good.

So only a select few are worth it cause remember I said it needs to factor all of the chapter and for the most part it's the perks are fine but the killer isn't up to par as they should
